There really is no two sides of the story. What Rachel said was 100 percent factual. ESPN did her wrong. And Rachael just so happened to be supplanted by Malika Andrews and for what? ESPN never gave a reason for why they went against a clause in her contract. It had to be for something and that’s the bottom line. They’ll never admit it’s because they do have a shitty track record with diversity. But people like Matt and Stephen obviously side with Rachel. Do with that information as you will…

Malika is a pretty face, no complaints there. She knows what the 'idea of being a basketball player' is so she can relate, no complaints there. But she doesn't know basketball, and because of that, she tries to make everything about the 'idea of being a basketball player' instead of the game of basketball. Which the 'basketball fans' can't get with. If you want to hear about Steph Curry & Lebron James, she's great for that. But if you want to hear about those players in relation to their on-court performance, that's out of her league because she doesn't know the game on that level, Rachel could operate on that level, that's what Malika is missing.

Rachel has always been the ultimate professional in her career and approach to things that it was hard to see her being tarnished through the media for speaking her truth AND "the truth". Like Matt & Stak said, "those who know you will never be wavered in their perception of you given the history" & it shows in their respect and admiration for Rachel. You can tell she's be instrumental in their lives, and now they're in position to give back shows how valuable she really is to the sports community.
Rachel, you are a pillar in this business, and to see how much you've grown despite the negative connotations surrounding a vital moment in your career says you are destined to soar. Lord knows you made The Jump, and we miss you at The Jump; but, your reputation and dignity outweighs any dollar amount. Be blessed and welcome to the Showtime family! Shout-out to Matt & Stak.

@@pelicanhill3251 at the time, ESPN was following the echo of the crowd. I would have been upset too. Rachel paid her dues n deserved that spot n had it worked into her contract. Just because ESPN wanted to react to current events, it should not have been at the expense of Rachel. She may have worded it wrong - but to replace someone because the other individual is of color n you're doing it for good public perception, is ultimately wrong n unfair. How would you have worded it?

@@shotbboy By definition, her comments were an opinion, not facts. Neither you, nor I, nor Rachel Nichols know what motivated ESPN to make their decision. But it says a lot about you that you assume that Maria Taylor wasn't qualified.
