Wii sports would be awesome lol
Yes, please do a whole series! Comedy is the primary reason we all tune in anyway 😉

Great idea!
No one will ever convince me that the shake weight is anything other than an inside joke about cranking a hog that spiraled wildly out of control into a successful product.
I have that feeling about a lot of products.
"Lol, you will never, never sell this!"
"Watch me!"
South Park confirmed your hypothesis quite hilariously.
Fairly certain it was only successful as a joke gift.
You're at 69 likes, otherwise I would
So scientific trails don't count? Believe me I was thinking the same but the scince doesn't match. Ive linked scientific trails above...now you don't have to believe them but find a trail that proves it does nothing...ive not found one.
Scott the video guy: you’re a genius. Down to the shots, cuts, and music-I felt like I was back in the 90s
I was already working in gyms and training college and junior and pro hockey players in the off season. I don’t know what I found more annoying, fitness infomercials or today’s fitness influencers. Nope - it’s the influencers.’
Dr Mike, patiently waiting for you to make a video commenting on the new study about consuming more protein. Thanks!!
Go back there grandpa ew
You blew it dr. Mike. If you had laid on your side facing the camera to do the thigh master you would have broke the Internet .
On the table as well.
My favorite thing about "shake weight" is the bigger/tougher model came in black vs the puny white one.
Fun fact: the neck slimmer can actually be very useful, but not for slimming necks. I’ve used it to help improve epiglottic inversion on patients with swallowing difficulties. It mimics an exercise we perform called the shaker maneuver, but the neck slimmer allows us to add resistance to it.
so you swallow bettter then? Might get one for the lady..
Cool
@@doyourownresearch7297 bruh, it’s mainly for geriatrics and for others after strokes or TBI’s. Lol
@@doyourownresearch7297Dude, he's talking about geriatric people who've suffered from strokes.

Finally, we have the long awaited Mike x Shakeweight video. The collaboration that was written in the stars.
Need to perform the double shake weight overhead tricep extension!
It's a great day for generative AI.
I disagree that the Shake weight doesn't do anything. There are so many dudes with asymmetrical arms from masturbation, it's even a joke in Family Guy. I became an ambidextrous masturbator for this reason myself.
After all the puns he made so far it's a mystery Mike x Fleshlight hasn't happened yet
literally the only thing I came here for
The body blade and the jawsercise idea (post jaw surgery) are rehab tools that marketers decided would be good for the general healthy population. Like the little resistance bands used in PT, they aren't for overall fitness.
I like my jawsercise I feel it's beneficial my thought process is food is to easy to chew nowadays that's what sold me on the idea although I eat plenty of meat sometimes I only eat ground so although mike is funny he really didn't even give it a chance or use it properly especially since the one he had should have been heated and fitted
why do you feel the need to strengthen your jaw muscles? i believe you technically can but theres little to no point. since spot fat reduction doesnt work its not going to make a jawline more visible either@@user-uq5gb5ro8t
@@user-uq5gb5ro8t Not necessarily disagreeing, but I think the majority of people would be better off with a very tough sugar free gum. I buy Falim gum myself, but any sort of mastic gum should be fine.
My therapist had the body blade for my torn rotator cuff. I picked one up for $20. It actually does work to warm up your joints pretty well. I get a quick burn in my shoulders. But it is the full size, not the mini that Mike used
Just pop a few almonds or walnuts in throughout your day. Or if you want less fat just eat an apple or a raw carrot. Get your jaw exercise AND vitamins at the same time.
So disappointed Mike didn’t reference the South Park episode, “Crème Fraîche,” that centered around Sharon Marsh getting the most out of her Shake Weight.😂
I bought one of the electrified ab belt things when I was like a freshman in high school, so probably 2001 or so. This one you had to apply a gel to the reverse side (to prevent electrical burns lol) and then you strapped it on against bare skin. It definitely caused mild involuntary contractions (more like spasms) but also shocked the shit out of you even with the gel. I ended up throwing it out, not because it didn't get me a 6 pack (it didn't), but because using it was terrifying and painful.
Yea that thing was INTENSE, and you could have up to 4 individual zappers on the same belt. The first jolt always 10x more powerful so you sweated hard bracing for the jumped every time you had to start it up..
The image is making me laugh out loud.
Lol! I did the same thing.
Mike should react to old supplement ads. Like those old muscle tech ones which guaranteed 1,000,000% testosterone. Or even to see how golden/silver era practices and recommendations hold up today
That HAS to be an unhealthy amount of testosterone 😂unless they were marketing it to a very specific demo
When I was in school to become a physiotherapist I went to an internship in a hospital where they used something like the bodyblade to improve balance in elderly patients with Parkinson's or who were rehabbing from strokes. I made makeshift sandbag by rolling up ankle weights and had them throwing them around. They enjoyed it a lot more and their balance metric improved greatly.
Bro, I was in PT and they had me use that body blade for rotator cuff surgery recovery. It didn't work. Lol.
@@jerediahgonzalez2315 Brother, what let they did you do? L-Sit-Cruzifix rotations with a stick or body blade is something I do for my Boxers to fix posture and rotator cuffs. But I guess when your rotators are already injured not the best idea.
I’m glad that Scott the video guy has his own microphone now, he’s moving up in the world
The shake weight was 2009. I know because my father bought one despite my protest. I now keep it in an acrylic case in my gym as a shrine to stupidity.
The South Park shake weight episode is comedy gold! I'd love an episode with Dr. Mike commenting on current fitness products.
My hope is to someday get Scott in front of the camera so we can finally see who’s been keeping Dr. Mike alive this whole time
Scott the video guy
I remember at that time a lot of people implicitly trusted whatever was being shown to them on the TV and there weren't the easily accessible sources of information we have today to counter the crap or to give people good fundamentals. (Without getting a trainer, going to school, finding the right book, getting a gym membership, whatever) So when someone came along and looked healthy and successful, showed their fake clients looking healthy and successful, and selling an easy solution that cost a few bucks and promised to solve your problem without any effort from yourself, people ate it up.
Similar to RUclips influencers now, most don’t know much more than you could learn on a few hours google, take hormones, looks decent, build a fan base of fanboys, profit
People are always going to want maximum results with minimal effort. Thus, I don't see this ever going away (as HKFinn wrote, the newest iteration is influencers)
The classic “as seen on TV”
Now people implicitly trust whatever they see on RUclips. We haven't really improved much.
You are absolutely correct, sir.
I found an old 6 seconds abs machine in my grand-parents' house when I was about 10 y old. 10 reps made my abs strong enough to break the machine. Best abs workout of my life.
My mom was always wearing out those vibro belts. They must have been a good workout!
Did she keep them in her bedside drawer?
The bodyblade (or something like it) actually is used as a rehab device. It was part of my shoulder rehab when i had a very minor partial tear. Along with bands, light weights, cables. And my name on s wall with i miniature heavy skate
12 weeks later and my shoulde was recovered.
Scott killed it with that cover image, hahah! 😂 I bet that was a fun photo shoot
Omg! 😂 I'm dying!!! Love you guys! Thanks Scott the video guy for getting all those contraptions for Mike to use.
I see body blades in a lot of physical therapy offices. I'm curious what the rationale behind using those is.
I got one from mine for my shoulder, and it was like $130. I found it helped doing overhead in one arm for my overhead mobility, but it’s kind of just like stretching or doing hangs.
There are probably other movements I could have done for free that would have had the same results or better
For people who have shoulder surgery it’s a good way to get them moving again. I use to play baseball and they were apart of a lot of pitchers warmup routines as well
Used it to rehab my shoulders after both rotator cuff surgeries. Not in any way the promo video shows, but it has some good value with the shoulder stabilizers which need high rep low resistance to strengthen.
Also used this after shoulder dislocation. Helped with pain, range of motion and perception of stability at end ranges.
Oscillating with the body blade allows you to co-contract all 4 of your rotator cuff muscles. It's actually a good tool for post-op shoulder patients, especially those who do a lot of overhead activity.
I was hoping to see the gazelle. My dad was obsessed with those commercials and bought one. It was so fun as a kid to swing around on, and my dad used it maybe one time. My sister in law has one now.
Tony Little was jacked
Someone at my gym left a Shake Weight on the dumbbell rack. 😂 It stayed there for quite some time; I never did see anyone using it.
We all knew Dr. Mike was going to be a pro at the shake weight. He was probably thinking of Jason Mamoa the whole time he used it.
I knew exactly how this was going to go and Mike did not disappoint
Hilarious reviews! I’d love to see a series of Dr Mike doing Beach Body workouts, ESPECIALLY Insanity😊
I’d prefer him doing Autumn’s ie the female V-Shred
This is my most favorite video you have ever done. 100 percent need to do more of these
"6-Second Abs" As a kid born in the 90's I can confirm my Mom had this
I remember when i was in middle school my mom got it for her and for my fat ass
😂@@Vloseq
As a kid born in 88 I remember the videos getting shorter. 10 minute abs was replaced with 9 minute abs which was replaced by 8 minute abs and so on.
My mom did those "Buns of Steel" videos.
My mom still has a "torso track" in her basement. 😆
I saw a neat article years ago that showed how the shakeweight has been re-invented multiple times in history as a health device. I guess people really just do like shaking.
Oh man I was with this girl a long time ago and we saw a shake weight commercial on tv. I said "who the hell would be dumb enough to buy that shit?" and she told me that her mom had one. I immediately kms.
This is your funniest video yet, I was howling. Love this channel, keep it up!
This is great! Laughed hard at this! I appreciate how you attack ideas over people and most importantly make it funny
MORE OF THIS PLEASE!
Jawzrsize really helped me because before the age of 13 I ended up having my jaw shattered and titanium plates put in my jaw and I babied the left side for so long yet still was able to build muscle to the point that they couldn't take the plates out when I turned 18 and several years later I came across his video post motorcycle accident and it really really helped me out but it's not for everybody. It gave me the opportunity to be able to bite into an apple without paying it also gave me the ability to yawn without struggle because imagine yawning and your mouth having to have close itself which gets rid of the on and then it comes back and you are in a never-ending cycle of trying to finish it because you can't open your mouth up far enough and the muscles were atrophied enough that it would instinctively clamp down halfway through the range of motion
Its actually really neat that it can be good for physical therapy.
It gives me a bad headache, so i stopped
@@PKshockwave You'd be fatiguing the masseter muscle which wraps all the way up the side of your skull, so a headache seems kinda expected lol.
OH WAIT this is genius! I haven’t chewed on my left side in almost a decade and I’m really feeling the consequences. I make an effort to switch sides but I HATE IT
Very cool video, love the quality bump
This was so entertaining to watch, amazing!
I’ve learned so much foundational in-depth knowledge from this channel and yet… This is by far one of my favorite videos.
Just look at his face! Dr. Mike looks happier than a kid on Christmas morning as he receives these gifts and debunks all this nonsense. It warms my heart the exact same way as when my nephew opening up presents on Christmas morning 🥰
Mike the body blade is legit! They still use it for physical therapy - improved my shoulder pain and gains under the instruction of a Pt with that a while back
7:50 he said that
You are stupid. Any placebo would have worked. Rofl
As a physiotherapist I say this; the body blade is pointless bullshit. Most likely all the other modalities you did actually helped your shoulder (even just time spent recovering from the injury)
This was hilarious! One of my fave Mike videos EVER. Make more like this!!
The Gazelle Freestyler, Bowflex, anything Richard Simmons made, Total Gym, ab rollers, and Tony Little videos.
Dr. Mike is hands down one of the funniest people I've ever seen!
Please use these in the gym as a prank video coming up. Mike using these devices to failure would be amazing😂😂
At the physical therapy clinic I work at we use the body blade unilaterally to work shoulder stability but in a rehab setting.
thanks for the laughs...enjoyed and had memory flashbacks of items I and other friends of mine brought in the vain attempt to get in shape without the Work...again thanks..
I SWEAR that Shakeweight has been on the back table of this backdrop for forever, finally decided to use it. I'd imagine a LOT of the sales for Shakeweight is for gag gifts. They also didn't play my favorite part of the "Neckline Slimmer" product...it's a "spot reduction" tool for ladies with "turkey neck", truth. Find the infomercial...it was one of my favorites.
This video alone is worth the membership price
Pretty sure itll be available for everyone in a hour or two
You have very quickly become one of my favourite channels
I'm sure you could do a fun video on Tony Little?
There was also a 'squat assist' stool kind of thing I remember seeing, that looked amazing! ❤️
😂 Dr Mike, you are too hilarious
I actually worked my jaw out while watching by laughing so fucking hard!! HAHA!! love that video!! LOL
LOL, Amazing! Let's get the modern one next; with the stepper, the "prison" version of Sandow's squeezable dumbbell, the new 6 pack electric shock trainers with the "secret navy seal" technology, the iron chest master, and some kind of bar with band attachments.
Please do a vintage fitness video review series!! You could buy a VHS player TV combo and everything it would be awesome!
That jaw thing is probably horrible for your teeth. I'd appreciate a review of the under the desk cycle, the sciatic nerve anklet thing, and the teeter fitspine.
Lmao I love Dr Mikes humor it’s the best on RUclips for sure
Love the new format
The body blade was my go to for shoulder rehab. The shake weight helped too but not as much.
"Vibration and inertia: nope, neither one of those are forces. ... This is perfect bullshit." Thanks, Dr. Mike for the chuckle and an entertaining walk down memory lane. I remember those commercials. 😊
is inertia not a force?
The body blade helped me after shoulder surgery. It didn’t make me jacked but it did make my shoulder feel more stable and is a great warm up. Maybe it’s all mental but it worked for me.
Physical Therapist here. It's a good rehab tool. Horrible hypertrophy tool. Glad to hear it worked for you.
My physical therapist told me anything that gets adequate blood flow in my shoulder area is all I need to start my workouts so aside from the strengthening workouts he has me do, it seems like it would be perfect. Also my baseball pitchers used something similar in their warmup
There are some body blade like products used as warm-ups for baseball lol. Honestly I think they are kinda redundant but who knows lol.
My old gym had a vibro shape machine. The only machine that was retired due to over use. The rest remained in pristine condition. Can't imagine why.
Finally, a way to harness the power of vibration *and* inertia and make them work for me!
What do you mean that the shake weight has no progressive element? You just shake it harder and harder. You can even count the number of reps/sec to have an objective measure of progression. Which exercises your brain, too!
Also, it trains you to homogenize just-peanuts peanut butter or quarts of paint (as an alternative to stirring).
😂
I just jerk off instead.
I came here expecting something, and it met all my expectations. Great job Mike and Scot the video guy
God I love Dr. Mike I just smile and laugh every damn time and I’m getting great information for the most part , this video being maybe the only exception
Bodyblade actually really helps with my shoulder and core issues. I like their workouts too.
There's a member's only version of this video with a very similar thumbnail. Just different implements. Very enjoyable experience!!
I did a lot of shaking sticks exercises back then. This and the use of a fluorchinolone resulted in severe tendinopathia of every tendon you can think of having.
Comedy gold. Nice work gentlemen!
Resistance bands are incredible for home workout and very safe and easy to progressively overload.
The thing about the 90's, people were super busy and always in a hurry. They needed to workout anywhere and everywhere and workouts needed to be quick. And also, springs!
That "Vibro Shape" belt looks like a newer version of the famous Walton Belt machine. You know, that one that jiggled your belly fat around and was popular in the 1950s-1960s, even though it did nothing.
Entertaining & educational...my husband who's is a Physical Therapist rolls his eyes when seeing anything like you're reviewing. There is currently a LegXerciser advertised on later night TV, that actually says "It's like having a Physical Therapist in your home". Yikes.
We need more of these videos!!!
My God. I was a hellion and stayed up until 1-2 in the am in my early teens. These commercials between nick at night were comforting.
Gotta love how the "most replayed" segment is the part at the beginning with Suzanne Somers in that KILLER high waist one piece.
Having you try a range of related shit is really fun. More of this please.
I had to use a body blade as part of PT for rehab for rotator cuff repair surgery. It was exhausting on those little muscles in the shoulder...for the first 2 weeks after surgery. After that they dropped it from the plan.
I forgot about these! Hysterical stuff Dr. Mike! 🤣🤣🤣
I love that the Thighmaster 800# is the hold music that corporate hr uses where I work.
Please do more of these!
Wow! Hands down the funniest video I’ve ever seen on RUclips. Wife is staring at me like wtf us wrong with you while I’m cracking up and asking her if she heard what Dr Mike just said 🤣😂
The graphics and the music was legit 💪
My new fave video of yours lol. Instant classic
1:12 So THAT'S what that was for! My parents had this and for the longest time I never knew which exercise it was meant to be used for.
We need more of this
"It feels like someone shaking you." I lost it. I love you Dr Mike!
I used body blade to rehab my shoulder after breaking it pitching too much. The burn from that thing was totally nuts.
I actully used the "body blade" during pt after my stroke, to engage left arm stabilyzer muscles
This is great! I wonder if you had to wait 8-12 weeks for shipping as used to be standard.
This was awesome Mike!
Dr Mike.. best review yet!! I'm still shookked all now.. 😂
Thank you for this video. I never believed any of that stuff, for all the reasons you cited.
There is a clear difference between the start of the video and at the end, keep doing them, theyre working
Mike is a perfect combo science/knowledge and humor/kinkyness💪🏻
I audibly giggled when I saw this video in my feed. Can't wait 😂
This is one of the greatest videos I’ve seen in a long time hahaha
I begged for this on the Dr. Oz video and it's finally happened. I'm a happy boy Doc
