Steve - the interior of this one looks almost Audi in fit and finish? Are VW applying their Audi sleek interiors to their VWs now to combat the influx of Korean "luxury" cheaper cars?
I'm in NY, actually, But it wasn't 50-state compliant. This vehicle is rugged enough for 95% of all buyers.
Love my Vw Touareg.
I've got a 2012 and 2013 Passat on here. I would not recommend the previous gen Passat for the very reasons you stated. How about Accord?
it's a great car, i have it, I have 5k miles on it and I love it. But my friend got a tiguan with similar equip for $30k... i got mine for $48k... Why was my touareg so much more expensive?!?!?!
Year of manufacture
NOx pollutants. But that's old news as all OEMs are 50 state compliant now.
I drove it through Vermont and New Hampshire mountains and got 28mpg.
About $5,000 cheaper for the VW when you compare equal trims.
TDI clean diesel he says hahahaha
I would only buy this if I did 1 hour drives everyday on the thruway. Otherwise something smaller would be better.
Its a nice motor but how come the V10 was illegal? Also is diesel cheaper than petrol in the US? because its not in Europe!
Lol got me there on the weight but in a non-US market you can find several diesel diesel powered vehicles such as the Ford Ranger D (now discontinued), VW Amarok , Toyota Hilux and other workhorses. I'm not sure about their weight but they pull off similar numbers.
This thing is expensive why don't I just buy a Audi Q7 cost the same just with a Audi badge.
Passat Grille just killed the look, they could have come up with the better design.
ah ok thanks. I don't even think they sold the V10 in the UK we're all too cheap!
Here diesel is about $2.30 per litre at the moment whatever that is in gallons
That's the avg for a Honda fit and it's surprisingly low for a diesel engine. It can do better than a meer 28mpg. There are alot of similar sized diesel engines that can do mid 30's.
Ah thanks mate I'll remember that!
Yeah its getting really out of hand people are struggling to cope the trouble is all the duty and tax imposed. It sucks for you guys too I've vacationed in America all my life and the rate yours is going up is unsettling to say the least!
With a savings of $450 a year in fuel you'll need to own the car for 8 years to pay off the $3500 TDI premium. #Gasoline over #TDI
i have the same model...back up camera is standard. However, some early 2012 production models had the back up sensors instead as there were camera supply issues due to the Japanese sourced cameras and the Tsunami last year…
In a 2 1/2 ton vehicle?? Name one?
Very informative video.
And in europe they still have more of the offroad options as in locking diff etc, just not available int the us.
@bmwmsport11 I agree, you'll get an equally well finished interior and seating for 7 for about the same price, if not a little more.
Does the 2012 lux come standard with blind spot detection ?
Not even a hint.
at this price i can buy a Land Rover Range Rover sport HSE 2011 at 40k Kms. hard to decide.
Interesting. Thanks for the info.
I'll buy Toyota 4runner. And fill up everyday with price difference.
whats wrong with a diesel v10 that some states do not comply with?
2:42 You'd look ridiculous if you had to use that spare!
There is no Gas v10 for the touraeg
Am a volkswagen guy forever
But Tdi usually has nicer driveability
Here in eu we have also a 4.2 V8 TDI ;-)
thats a suv
Do you will a review Tuareg 2015?
Viktor Hun Doubtful
28MPG... I get that in my Honda Fit. So either you did I lot of highway driving, or I have a lead foot.
