The thing about Silver Skulls is that the author of their books (where most of the chapters lore comes form) envisioned them as White Scars successors but GW made her change them into Ultramarines successors (she confirmed it on Twitter). Being White Scars successors makes sense with their savagery, strong position of librarians and head hunting. The heads taken by the White Scars Master of the Hunt are stripped of flesh and coated with silver - the Silver Skulls do the exact same thing and its posible that this practice is where their name and symbol come from.
The common consensus in my local stores is this. The worst part of 40K is playing 40K. Building and painting 40K, specifically space marines, is a damn joy and one of my favorite things
If you want a more overtly Asian-inspired Space Marine Chapter there's the Emperor's Shadows, I really like how their Chapter's badge is just straright up like some kind of flag secured to their pauldrons with cords. Its a really striking and unique look for them. Also speaking of the Mantis Warriors, I've also liked how someone out there outright drew one as a Kamen RIder lmao.
The Mentors are one of my favorite chapters as they also train up militia on the worlds they visit or send marines to. They act very renegade alpha legion and I think that’s cool
As a naginatajutsu practitioner, I love seeing you use one in this kitbash! Love the mantis warrior! I’ve been kitbashing some Seraphon samurai: One thing I’ve been doing is poking holes into some plastic card, and threading them with very small silk cord, just an idea for adding some Yoroi elements to the kitbash!
out of all of the successor chapters, i love the mantis warriors. I love them because A) they are successors of my fav legion, white scars ( "erm aktually they are successors of the muraudors" yeah but where do the muraudors come from) and B) they fill in the "scraping by trying to survive" niche thats also functions as a almost renegade that helps imperium. Mantis warriors remind of the Diamond Dogs from MGSV in the same way as they are basicly fighting to survive type of ordeal
I was happy to see the silver skulls in this video. As an Iron Warriors fan I love these guys for reasons I hope you go into when you make a video about them. (That I’m now looking forward to)
Hey, I hope you Vacation is going well, I love your work and I follow you since maybe a month and you give me motivation to do minis, so today I just painted my first minis, and it feel so good to paint and be proud of, it thanks you for giving us the motivation and those idea for minis

Wait, if Quar showed up in Warhammer, would the Orks call them Beakies?
the quar would defeat them before they had the chance to
Imagine if Chaos Cults started popping up in some parts of the Quar's homeworld, that would make for an interesting "what-if" story
Probably more like trunkies. Those are snouts, not beaks XD
@@lightningwolf788 That'd be a good name for the Orks to refer to the Quar as
I wonder?
I knew i recognized that lego blade shape!

Dude, seeing a fellow Mantis Warriors fan in the wild really brought my spirits up today.
I love all your kit-bashing videos.
So fun to see what you can do.
I am still building up my pile of extra stuff for kit-bashing.
As a naginatajutsu practitioner, I love seeing you use one in this kitbash!

As someone whose only real knowledge about eastern culture comes from games and other media, what is Yoroi and how does it effect character design?
BRO really used a lego Katana. Insane
There's a guy I follow on named Marco Paroli who's converted some Samurai inspired Space Marines named the Red Ronin
Just wanted to mention that
Silver Skulls represent! Love my bois in silver 10/10 video!

The tau you took from was a "Caw-Drey Fireblade"
these are all super cool little kit bashes, great work :D
Your kitbashes are simply fantastic! They inspire to go and continue doing own things.
P.S. No Quar means no smart faces and cute round creatures...
Some stores still sell thr Space Marine Heroes sets but from what can see they're gone. I like the Death Guard ones a lot, wish we had more of those
Nice results! I've been considering using some of the samurai inspired bits from Puppetswar with Reiver Marines for a kit bashed kill team.

Mentors are such a unique and cool chapter to me. Another chapter who isn’t mentioned enough imo
You can elongate wh30k marines hands up to the primaris scale by cutting out plasticard circles and inserting them between the more straight parts.

Im loving the killer 7 references
I’ve dishonored the Emperor.

Youre Chanel is great.
Love the kitbashing
Lois turn the TV on MishMash just uploaded. Freakin sweet
Love the work done, and Chapters selected!
BTW, does anyone know the song that starts as the Mantis Warriors are mentioned?
Shin megami tensei IV OST Black Market c:
I actually painted the free scout mini as a Mentor marine :3
I guess you could call them a "Mentee".
@@Bluecho4 I actually was thinking he could just be a full marine who just does scout stuff. Like Sgt Telos or whoever from the ultramarines
i always like the outro
sweet more kitbashed marines
There's something about kit bashing that makes any miniature, look so good.
Could you kit bash some Colonial Marines, someday?
mayhapse!

Skibidish corner!!
What if quar gets a RISK collab 10 players? Yes. Different mechanics? Yes. Destruction not domination? Pretty muc
What song is playing at the start of the mantis lords section? Sounds very early smt, but can’t place it.

mish mash has a pretty good figure! In fact he got three!"
KAH-druh, btw. Like "car driver" but just the "ca-" and "dr-" bits.

i would actually like to see you Make a Full Yari (spear) Mantiswarrior squad
That could be a fun project! I am kinda considering painting more mantis warriors since I actually bothered to make decals for them c:

Oof, clipping lego apart hurts the soul to see, but the fun ideas made from it makes up for it
LEGO(tm) is gonna get you mash man
(Had to do that to stay safe)
Silver Skulls? You mean "Trazyn the Infinite?"
YEEES
WHEN TRUE SONS
In the British armed forces, it's pronounced Kay-Der. But not even the British public pronounces it correctly, so why should anyone else 😂
Weer
Couldn’t you have just used one of the one handed grey knight swords
Not necessarily. I was going for Naginata, if I had just used one of the power swords it'd just be a longer polearm c:
So Silver Skulls are basically the sons of Barabas Dantioch...
