      Hey Tony, great question! This excellent article from Two Rep Cave should be of great assistance (link below).
      If you still have any questions, feel free to shoot them my way!

    Wow. Great looking equipment. I like the 47” width vs Rogues 49”. This will probably be next rack.

      Right on! I’m really satisfied with their attachments as well (higher quality designs, IMO, than Rep Fitness)

      I think it is a solid bench and setup!
      The powder coat at Griffin is super nice (I think they outsource most of it to a local US powder coat shop, or maybe that was just for custom orders).
      Solid bench and thickness. The only thing that would bug me about it is the 2” pad gap. If you don’t mind that and want to save the money, then that is an absolute steel from Griffin (especially with the Black Friday sale!)

    I appreciate the information, but the audio here could use some work. Do as you please, but from the way you like to shoot videos, you should record the audio separate and maybe do shots of the equipment in a way that is not just you pulling on a J-cup for a minute straight with a bad camera angle. Just some constructive criticism.

    That powdercoat looks nice is it better than reps?

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад +1

      It depends: I think it is certainly better than Rep's matte black option, but I think Rep's Metallic black option nocks most of the competition out of the water!

    Question, how well do the griffin attachments fit on the PR-5000? I'm really disappointed with the tolerances on Rep attachments for the PR-5000. The dip attachment is damn near unusable, so I'm curious if the Griffin ones may fit better.

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад +1

      I understand your frustration, attachment tolerances is one of my biggest gripes! The Griffin dip attachment still wasn’t 100% snug when I did the Griffin Fitness HQ tour. Likewise, the Griffin spotter arms had a little looser tolerance than my Rep Fitness ones, when mounted on my Rep Fitness PR-5000 racks.
      I have yet to find the perfectly snug dip attachment and therefore have not really gone with one yet for my personal gym.
      Meanwhile I just use one Rep Spotter arm mounted around chest high along with two single utility pins temporarily inserted in it. With this setup I’ve been fairly satisfied thus far, and it takes less room for storage than a full dip bar (storage has been a pain for many). Another pro is that the rubber coated utility pins feel quite comfortable for dips.
      Personally, there are cons to the temporary dip station setup (using a spotter arm + utility pins) and that would be having to move everything and set it up each time (those two pins happen to hold plates on a day to day basis, which means I have to take on and off said plates each time I want to do dips 😅).
      Another con would be that the utility pins do rotate which occasionally causes a feeling on instability when dipping.
      Like you, I’m really looking for a company who can take home the gold medal on this and make us all a proper dip attachment that doesn’t wobble, with decent materials and storage-ability, all for a great value price!
      All the best,
      GR

      Out of curiosity, are you referring to the old Rep Fitness Dip attachment or the new walk-through "Drop-In" version?

    How’s the slack in the griffin straps compared to the rogue ones?
    The pr5000 straps have way too much slack. Are the griffin ones better?

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад +2

      From what I recall they have significantly less slack than the Rep PR-5000 safety straps.
      That being said, Rogue’s straps seems a little more taught than the Griffin safety straps and with a better quality strap.
      If I’d do it again, I’md probably go with Griffin’s because they are so well designed. The detail in their straps is exceptional. The only additional I would make is adding a cut in the piece that hugs the upright so you can drop J-Cups one slot lower (see the Rogue model for a better illustration).

    I have the Rep Sandwich cups never had an issue with how tall they are. I also bought a second pair and 1 had a tight tolerance pretty annoying and can cause scratching.
    It would be nice to have a blackout hardware option with Rep.

    How about the additional shipment cost?

    • @gymreviewer
      @gymreviewer  2 года назад

      Great point, no free shipping. If you live in Southern California, they are a pretty easy drive from LA, Orange County, San Diego, and so on. For price comparisons, I’d add what you want to the cart, calculate shipping and tax, and compare the total to the total price from other manufacturers (Rep Fitness, Rogue, Titan, etc.)
