I love my glock 36 I carry it every where I go. CC and open carry I love that you can carry them every where doing anything from walking to riding a four wheeler in extremely dusty dirty places.
Same as you, every year I'm going to trade it in for something else but I always change my mind when I come to my senses. The 36 to me is the Ideal 45 for my needs. A year after I bought it, I sent it out for a grip modification which removed the finger grooves, the hump on the back strap and total stippling. This made the grip feel like a 1911 which is perfect for my hand. Great gun for me!
Speaking of 1911s, I no longer have the 36, but I do have a G41 now. Its .45 acp, 5.3" barrel and has the same muzzle underlug as a 1911 or Browning high power, it even has beavertail backstraps. Its the closest Glock comes to a 1911!
I upgraded the trigger(it’s now 4 pounds), put on night sights, upgraded the barrel and action to shoot 45 Super!!!! I also put 3 round magazine extensions on my carry mags. It is not the stock gun (you’re not in Kansas anymore)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love my G36. Had it for 15 years now. Like I’ve said before, I’m not walking down the streets of Beirut engaged in street fighting. Then I would want a larger capacity firearm. But for basic self defense, 7 plus 1 is fine. Carry another mag and you are fine. Yeah, Glock released this firearm and never made any larger mags for it nor updated it with later generations.
You don't have to go only with heavy & slow. There are loadings out there (Underwood for example) with 185 gr. 1200 fps. If you carry for self defense, a contact or point blank range shot with that would be a real threat stopper.
My EDC is a S&W M&P Shield.45 subcompact. It’s an absolute fantastic pistol. Very thin and 7+1 capacity. I love my Glock too. I have a G21 G4 but way to bulky & heavy to EDC
Thanks for that Sam. I can hear the safety ninja's crying from here!! Love it! I know that you have been carrying this pistol more as of late. Still has a near new look. I don't suspect the finish holding up is a issue at all with that nice leather.
The finish surprises me, I have accidentally rubbed it against metal objects such as car keys, and there's nothing. Not even slight marks. It's a great hard finish.
I have heard mixed things so I thought I would ask. If I can find a Glock that is USA made and 9mm, just because I have a few rounds of 9mm I am leaning towards that or a Sig320 carry if I can find one at the right price.
Great video!! I love Glock pistols. I would love to have a G36. My current EDC pistol is my S&W M&P Shield .45 subcompact. I carry Federal HST 230 grain +P JHP. Yes the .45 does have some advantages over the 9mm
And, you have your revolver as a back up gun for another fast five shots. I am glad you like it so well! Let us know how the extension to add more capacity works. How muddy is your shooting area?
I am sorry to hear that it is gone. That is what we figured. Is the tripod ruined? I hope the mud dries out soon. I suppose you want to rebuild and get set up in your shooting area "asap." :) I enjoyed your videos about carrying your Glock more lately and this video. Are you questioning the 5 shot capacity and caliber of your revolver and therefore feeling more confident with your Glock? I felt I needed more capacity so I traded my 5 shot revolver for a Ruger single stack 9MM, 7+1 capacity. Good luck getting everything re-established. How are the roads and bridges where you live?
Been a 9 guy forever but 45 is becoming more and more appealing. Double the bullet weight, and fatter as well. You just know it's going to break shit and do what you need it to do with more consistency. The modern JHP's open up to 1 full inch. That's like a ping pong ball. Yikes.
9s are just as damaging 😂 come on. I have 13 in the hellcat which is smaller than 6rd in a g36 or shield 45. I’d rather have 13…especially with newer 9mm hp ammo. 13 rounds of federal HST +P is ☠️
@@drewmorg. not arguing just conversating, and not to come off as a dbag but if you were in an actual shootout you might learn the error of your ways in only having 6-8 rounds. There’s a reason police, military and security forces use the 9mm. Because 6-8 just isn’t enough in some situations and the 9mm gets the job done. Don’t you think if .45 was a better option they would use it? Seems like they put a lot of money and research into deciding what cartridge to use. I myself use the G29 a lot, 10mm is definitely stronger than .45 and don’t have to worry about over penetration with federal hst in 10mm. Idk .45 just seems outdated and not many upsides besides it being bigger round. Maybe I’m just weird about capacity but I just don’t feel good with 7 rounds in my g36 even though I practice a lot and accurate it just doesn’t feel right. But to each his own I guess. @@SpaceHippo420 In reality I would never carry a low cap 45. Glock 21 for home defense only. 13 rounds seems solid enough to me. Realistically a Glock 43X with shield arms mag upgrade makes the most sense for carry.
Do you still have this gun sam? If so, still enjoying it? I have been considering this gun but am not sure how 45 would shoot in something light like this
Exactly. People are so caught up on “it’s bigger so obviously it’s better!”. I love the 9mm and .45 but I don’t think there’s that much of a difference nowadays with advanced ammo. Personally I’d rather have 13 rounds of 9mm in the same size as 6 rounds of .45. I still love a .45 though. Love my shield 45 and g36. Wish I got the 30s instead though.
When the 9mm kills as many soldiers as the .45acp has then I will buy one For very close quarters combat, well placed shot with that gun will stop the thugs.
It actually a Desantis thumb break leather holster designed for the Glock 30. I had to tighten the tension screw all the way to compensate for the Glock 36 being thinner than the Glock 30, but it worked well for the 36.
I think that the more you handle hot firearms, the even more respect you have for gun safety. As long as I don't grab for it if I start to drop it, it's as safe as an unloaded firearm.
I have to disagree. I was taught to treat every gun at all times as if they are hot. But the simple fact is, if your going to handle a gun, it really should be unloaded, because that’s the safe thing to do. If you don’t feel comfortable unloading and re-loading and re chambering a round, you should not be handling the gun in the first place. I am a huge gun advocate, so I’m not trying to piss in anyone’s Cheerios, I’m just trying to spread some common sense. And watching Handsy McHandster here finger fuck a loaded pistol really pissed me off.

Can you recommend a mag pouch for it?

cool honest take on 36. thanks
Why shoot them twice with a 9, when you only need one with a 45!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 9mm kills the body the .45 kills the soul. The .45 is called the Lords Caliber for a reason!!!
You can check if a Glock is hot by sliding your index finger over the extractor and if it’s poked out then it’s loaded
It fits in the 19/23 holsters also!!!!
