    In the 80s and 90s my father had a reloading business. It was common for us to have a dozen 5gal buckets of completed 223 in his shop. My job was to stand on his counter ad watch the case feeder and not let it go empty. Apparently I was a glorified mirror, lol. Those are some of my favorite memories.

    You should point out here in a pinned comment that you HAVE resolved the 9mm case feeding issue and it was caused by YOUR improper assembly of your particular case feeder. I saw your video on that, but you might want to link to that video in the description as this video makes people believe that the fault was DP's design. It was good that you made a follow up video on the case feeder and your fix of it.
    I'm assembling my XL750 and hopefully will be cranking out some rounds very soon. No case feeder for me just yet. But that might be coming in the near future once I get everything set up correctly.

    Dillon used to sell an adapter that fit inside the top portion of the feeder chamber to prevent upside down cases. It was installed when loading for 9mm, 38 Super, 380 and 32 H&R. P/N 13688. It's not listed on their site anymore but may still be available from them and work with your newer model feeder. Mine is vintage 1995.

    Iv been rolling with the RCBS rock chucker for about 2 months so fairly new into reloading. Looking to get a 550c or 750xl. In the next week. One guy tells me to go with the 550 and not spend the extra on 750 other people tell me not to waste my time with the 550. I reload a lot of 9mm and 223 but will eventually get into more calibers. What’s your opinion?

    • @SquatchReloaded
      @SquatchReloaded  3 года назад +1

      I run both and it’s a tough one. The main thing I would consider is the need for the fifth station of the XL750 and the need for the casefeeder. The price of the 550 is compared to a base XL750. However, in my opinion the XL 750 has to have a casefeeder to be fully appreciated so there is another 300 dollars that needs spent to make the XL750 an upgrade over the 550.

    You have way more rounds under your belt on the 750 than I do, so I am no authority. But. is it possible you are overloading the case feed hopper? I haven't put more than 100 or so cases in the hopper at a time because I figure, I've got to stop for primers anyhow, at which time, I dump more cases. That said, I have never had a malfunction with the case feeder, specifically, upside down cases. Thoughts?

    How do you fix the issue of the primer seat not being self cleaning like the old 650? Since it does not rotate and drop debris (brass, powder, etc) it can get full of stuff and start to dent primers. Do you vacume it out ever 100 rounds?

      Ok let me do my best with these questions. As far as the Mr Bullet feeder I have never used one but they get great reviews. One thing to consider the additional cost with change overs to different calibers. If you are only running one caliber then yes it would definitely increase your speed. Increase it a lot actually. Now when it comes down to the 750 and the 1100 these are two completely different animals. The benefit of the 750 is the warranty and the flexibility. FYI I have over 25 thousand rounds on mine and runs great. The 1100 is geared more towards the commercial market with only a 1 year warranty I believe. If you are looking at automation then the 1100 is the way to go.

    Have RCBS, Dillon 650XL and then bought a 750 thinking the good would become great .. so far not impressed with 750 .
    1) Cases (9mm & 40) constantly hang up between the case feed tube and the case drop mechanism.
    2) 750 is HORRIBLE with flipping primers sideways or upside down. When sideways then they get crushed. I've had to go to looking at every primer drawbar return given the one run about 15% of primers were sideways and crushed in process. Not great given the scarcity of small pistol primers. 650 never has had that issue. Having to watch both sides of press when reloading really slows down the process.

    • @SquatchReloaded
      @SquatchReloaded  3 года назад

      I found that the lead chamfer on the drop tube was not pronounced on my latest 750 compared to me older one. In regards to flipping primers it’s almost always due to have the knurled end cap on too tight and damaging the magazine tip. If you need some help feel free to email me and I can help out the best I can. I have almost 35k rounds on my old 750 and 10k ish on my newest one. Would be more than happy to help out.

      @@SquatchReloaded Hey, old post/video so thanks for the response!! So I "RTFM' again and found a couple tweeks. Loose set screw, measured and set the primer carrier/seater to 1.385 (range 1.380-1.390), reseated shell plate holder but this 750 turret still rocks a bit to the left when depressing which moves the newly positioned case out of position so ever slightly and doesn't allow for smooth insertion into resizing die..
      Tried another 100 rounds of 9mm and no crushed primers, mainly because I watched every one come out of the feed which slowed down the process. The misalignment of the shell to resizing die (carbide) is the biggest issue, rarely will it not need a nudge to align.

    • @SquatchReloaded
      @SquatchReloaded  3 года назад

      You can adjust the index ramp bearing in and out to tune the index position to get it centered up. Usually the issue with the case going into the sizing die is due to the feed slide need the push moved out so that it just seats the case into the shell plate. If it’s going in to far it will pull the case back with it or bounce it off the shell plate.

    1:50 Just be thankful you dont have a Lee Load Master.
    Lee fraudulently named that loader.
    Like MANY of the other reviews on that reloader, the Load Master was nothing but problems with the turret cycling, case feeding, and a couple other serious issues.
    Sure, the Load Master was less expensive but that doesnt give a company the justification to GROSSLY hype up the name of the product in order to get it to sell.
    The proper name of that reloader is CRAP MASTER. I wouldnt use that reloader again even if it was given to me! I would immediately sell it to someone who enjoys finding ways to put up with headaches including Lee's customer service who just keeps telling you to do the same things that you already told them you read in the manual and tried several times to resolve the issue but to no positive results.
