    Would love to hear if you have any questions about this one! How'd you get on breaking your anxiety loop?

      Thanks for the good content. Is it common to have sensations of tension headache, neck and jaw tension associated with stress response.

    Yep, health anxiety is what started all of my anxiety problems, had my first panic attack when I thought I had cancer and after that my brain was looking out for tiny little problems, every headache was a stroke! Luckily my health anxiety is mostly gone now but the anxiety I got from it remains!

    As soon as someone recommends 'breathing' to overcome anxiety, I switch off immediately. You seem to take a different approach, which has got my attention.

    Thinking about how your thoughts won't make it true is also a good way to make the situation humorous which is great for relieving anxiety. Laughing at yourself for the absurdity of the situation.

    How do we go about this when the sensations are so overwhelming? Specially after you had an actual health scare ? :(

    • @anxietybeatinghacks
      @anxietybeatinghacks  3 года назад +6

      Health anxiety is a big topic and I am planning on doing some RUclips’s specifically on this. I understand the sensations are overwhelming and part of that overwhelm likely comes from getting too caught up in what you think those sensations are saying about your health. In my vid “8 ways to beat anxiety”… there are some practical fire fighting techniques for beating overwhelm. But watch this space and thanks for tuning in.

    First video watched on this channel and I must say. You have some amazing viewpoint’s and different ways to interpret anxiety. This is where I am in many ways, struggling to get out of this loop. Is it really anxiety or am I really on my 75 heart attack that I heroically beaten over the years! Even after several Doctors have indicated that my heart is fine….

    I have an anxiety and im always having air hunger the whole day and it is already a week... Sometimes i have normal breathing for couple of hours then the remaining time is air hunger. It is normal to anxiety? My symptoms are cant deep breath and air hunger

    • @anxietybeatinghacks
      @anxietybeatinghacks  3 года назад

      Thanks for sharing. Yes air hunger can be very common when suffering with anxiety and can be largely caused by over-breathing. Have you watched the video I made specifically on air hunger and that sensation that you "can't breathe"? ruclips.net/video/XliOGg8Tl98/видео.html It will really help understand the mechanism behind air hunger and how you can overcome it. Hope it helps.

      If you have it for long periods it's probably due to bad carbon dioxide tolerance, but ones that come and go are likely due to hyperventilation from panic attacks. Hyperventilating also makes you air hungry

    This guy has absolute truth. Too much oxygen , too little CO2. Also , if you have anxiety disorder (like I have ) even breathing through the nose it is too much ( involuntary too frequent and too deep ). The only thing that help me during the day (besides doing the exercise in this video ) is block one nostril, not only close mouth. Believe me, it helps a lot. Be aware to change the blockage from one nostril to the other from time to time.

    How do you react when air hunger starts to happen

  • @catpoke9557
    @catpoke9557 Год назад +1

    Your videos really do feel like they are truly made by someone who has actually EXPERIENCED the problem and the solution. Which is because well, you have. I liked my therapist, he was cool, but you could tell he was was looking from the outside in. If you can't understand how anxiety feels it can be hard to think of good ways to break the cycle.

    Hi mate. How can you break the loop when you get stuck in thinking about your breathing? Like, i know that the anxiety is what makes you breath manually and it’s exhausting.

    • @anxietybeatinghacks

      Great question. This is really something that takes a little unpacking… but essentially separating out the sensations from the meaning you attribute to the sensations can help. I’m actually soon to start a 7-week free from air hunger programme where I guide people this exact process!

    How do I break the sensation of not being able to take a deep breath. I feel like I cant fill my entire lungs with air and something is stopping me. It's quite frightening. I keep sitting there trying to just feel the sensation but it is an intense sensation sometimes.

    • @anxietybeatinghacks
      @anxietybeatinghacks  3 года назад +1

      The sensation you describe sounds like air hunger and can often ben the results of chronic over-breathing. Essentially when we breathe out too much we get rid of TOO MUCH carbon dioxide and our oxygen and carbon dioxide balance goes out of whack. When this happens we can become hyper sensitive to carbon dioxide building up and it creates the sensation that you need to take a breath and that you aren't getting enough oxygen. Doing the breathing exercises outlined in the video here can help bring things back into balance. "HELP ME... I CAN'T BREATHE" ruclips.net/video/XliOGg8Tl98/видео.html
