    One thing to add here that’s over looked is for bikes that have got some miles on them before adding the EBS that already have significant carbon buildup in the combustion chambers from ingesting hot oil laden blowby crankcase gases for 25k-50k mikes that need to be decarboned without taking the motor apart.
    What can reduce carbon buildup is to run a healthy dose (1.5-1.75oz per gal fuel) of Chevron’s Techron injector/combustion chamber cleaner in a black plastic bottle that says Concentrated on the label.
    Keep in mind if there’s mikes in the motor with carbon buildup you will have to run quotes a few tanks of fuel (4-6) treated with Techron dosed as rec above to remove the excessive carbon buildup already in comb chambers on valves pistons etc. It won’t hurt anything to run mult doses of Techron which is also a good thing to run thru the motor & injectors 2-3x yrly in s tank of fuel just prior to an oil & filter change.
    But also keep in mind when you run mult tanks treated with Techron to remove excess carbon it can possibly contaminate the motor with so me sml carbon particles removed from the comb chambers so change the oil right after your done doing the mult tanks of fuel excessive carbon cleanup.
    Another way to quickly remove carbon is to use Seafoam intake application hose you can insert into an aid cleaner/filter system with motor running to fog it heavy & then let it sit while it’s hot for their rec amount of time. Then you retire the motor & run it till it burns the remaining Seafoam & loosened carbon out of the motor,it makes a Smokey mess which i rev doing just prior to an oil change too.mI font rec the old school dripping cold water into the intake with motor running to remove carbon like old timers did to motors in 40’s thru mid 70’s that literally shocks/hammers the carbon off pistons,YIKES!😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
    Happy motoring.
    Scott

    Just installed my 828 contrast finned with external breather filter, bassani 2x2 header, 3.5 no baffle mufflers with the 158 torque converters. I called you guys because I was worried that the torque converters were too small. You basically said that they'd do the job but may be loud and backfire. Anyways. I'm damn happy. the breather looks great, and the bike sounds perfect for me. Tuning this weekend. Thanks for the great videos, and products.

I do empty my catch can a little more often as I catch shorter rides in the cold and wet but in the summer time on long runs I get longer time intervals. Damn. I need to order the catch can guts.

    I've got a round extreme flow screaming Eagle air filter etc, the one you said can't be done.
    I did it, all you have to do is cut both sides of the venting hose and place in a small barb fitting on both sides, with T section barb, drill your hole on the backing plate, run the hose out, all done, took me 10min.
    Checked it a dozen times, everything working well.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  4 месяца назад +1

      Glad you are well pleased with the EBS. It really depends on the cover. If it is a hard shell then yes it will be restricting the air flow, we call those HOT BOXES. If it is open around the filter it will not be restrictive.
      Just make sure that any cover you are getting allows Air through the filter.

      It looks like it is a decent system. The only down side that I see is that it only fits their backplate. Please note that the Transformer is about 3/4 of an inch thick and will push your Air Cleaner out that much more. If you have shorter legs or are already hitting your Air Cleaner with your knee you may want to think about getting one of the other External Breather Kits or Floorboard Extensions. Hey guys, I have a 23 street glide. Had the syn3 until my 5k yesterday. Now have redline 20w50 . I run my oil at the halfway mark on the dipstick. I never go on short rides. Always 30 miles minimum. Use my vulcan for short rides. I give the bike about 3 minutes to warm up. I do ride year round and temps only get down to the low 30s. I did have the 2020 heritage m8 with the catch can from you guys and it would get the water and gunk inside, but the line never got clogged with weekly empties( mostly water). Moved it over the the 23 with can and it plus hoses got clogged really soon, so switched to a pod filter. Hoses still got clogged but filter was cleaned. So now I have the pod filter directly under the air cleaner. The hoses run directly through the backing plate and down to the pod like I originally wanted it as u guys also suggested. Just needed a different size barb so the pod is connected to that and not a short connecting hose. Which now makes it work on the new m8s with that smaller area. So now time will tell on how my 3rd attempt works. Also, on my 2020 heritage I ran redline 20w50.

    Why does my catch can fill up with water? 2023 sg st 117

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 месяца назад

      It could be condensation if you take a lot of short rides and your bike does not fully warm up. We suggest you allow your bike to fully warm up to burn off a lot of that condensation. If you can not let your bike fully warm up every time you ride you can cut a piece of shop towel and place it in the bottom of the catch can and it will help absorb some the condensation and hopefully keep it from spitting out of the holes. The filters that are in the catch can are good at holding oil but not water substance. So the shop towel will help with that.
      Routing your hose with the catch can up and over the heads will allow the condensation longer to burn off before going into the catch can and over filling it.
      Here is a video about that that you may find helpful at the 5:40 minute mark it talks about rerouting your EBS - ruclips.net/video/XI_FmsiGbBM/видео.html

    Why do dealers claim that if you by pass the breather bolt into a catch can it may void your warranty? They claim that the oil being squirted in your injection port helps lubricate the cylinder walls! I beg to differ with them because it gets burnt in the combustion cycle. And there are already points where oil makes it way to the pistons and cylinders. This malarkey may be true in commiecalifornia where they have to play the EPA game, but here in Florida, land of the free, we could care less about how noisy or polluting our bikes are!😁👍✌️🇺🇸

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  4 месяца назад +2

      Not all Dealerships say that, but those that do, obviously do not know what they are talking about, and lack a basic understanding in how an internal combustion engine works. Sad, but unfortunately the ignorance at Dealerships seems to be on the rise.
      Oh, and regarding the warranty, if one has a Dealership that they feel they need to use that is of this mindset, just remove the EBS prior to taking it in for warranty work.
