Thank you Todd...I did mention and show my snap ring pliers at 9:02 in the video...I showed a good set and talked about the importance of getting a good set and not a cheap set with interchangeable heads.
Thanks for the awesome video! You did a hell of a job putting together the long list of tools. It'll definitely help a new tech when they are starting out. There is one thing you did leave out. How about them New Age Cabinets you had in the background? Worth every penny!!
Great video! Always looking for a silver bullet set to buy for the occasional tinkering, but I guess you really have to get organized and pick and choose what you need.
Sorry for the late reply...been at Tail Of The Dragon for a week. Thanks for checking out the video....yes we work on bikes everyday and just wanted to show what we use but for general tinkering you really dont need all of that stuff.
Think I'm going to have to get one of those Milwaukee battery powered ratchets after watching this . Now I have arthritis in both thumb joints n wrists. 🇬🇧🏍️💨👍
Get one! I have issues with one wrist that has pins and screws and it has saved me a lot of pain and discomfort not just in the garage but the house too.
I dont do many of those and my buddy has some tools I use when I need them...and they are the V-twin Manufacturing brand...not sure if there is any cheapers ones out there that work
yes sir...man the older i get the harder those damn silver on silver wrenches got to read. these have been great and pretty accurate...accurate enough for HD anyway lol
Hey Steve, Great video, I love your Channel I’ve been following you for the Last couple Of Year. Your Blue Street Glide is Absolutely Gorgeous. Blue is my Favorite Color. Where are you Located?
Hey Ricky thank you! The blue Sg actually was Charcoal Pearl from the factory and we did the color swap on it from Advanblack and choose the Zephyr Blue ...really makes the chrome pop! Were in southern Illinois.
tehre sre some good sets for pretty cheap...if you don't plan on using them very much after you swap out your bolts id honestly just try to find the sizes you need. There probably isn a huge variation of bolts on your bike. Youre going to be looking at around 100 to 150 for a set of 12 point SAE and Metric in 3/8 drive. A full set here amzn.to/3Xr0YYL . or speed rails like this metric - amzn.to/3ZsmLCe SAE - amzn.to/4d75Acj
hey Steve, Thanks for tour of your tool box. Love it. I'm always added tool as I tackle new projects on the bike. Quick question, your wheel chock on your table, does that come with your table or can it be added? the one that came with my table sucks... I almost lost my bike when lifting the back wheel and left side ratchet strap slipped, bike took a hard lean to the right. i need an upgrade.... Let me know what you recommend.
Hey David..yes it came with the table but you can buy them from just about any lift table company...I highly recommend this style as i can crank that front tire down and it will hold the bike while i get the center jack under it. Now that being said when I put the rear wheel up I do strap it back so it doesn't roll forward...also grab a zip tie and tie off your front hand brake ..here is one from Dereck Weaver Lifts thats a good price.. www.derekweaver.com/bikers-garage/motorcycle-lift-parts-accessories/w-vise-motorcycle-vise-tire-clamp/?gad_source=1
Steve have you tried the orange loctite? It's like a mix of red and blue if I remember correctly. I've been using it for about a year and have had great success with it. It holds strong yet is still removable without the need for heat. Thank you for your time. 💚👊
@sikbaggers sounds like a plan, hopefully you like it and it can help some of your viewers that may not know of it. Keep up the good work like you always do and I thank you for all your time you give to all of us. 💚👊
It turns into kind of an obsession and I can see it pretty well the more I spend. Between the Harley, race car stuff, and guns. I could have easily bought a new Harley with what I've spent over the years. I end up buying every special tool I end up needing at 1 time or another lol. I could probably do a lot more if I spent more on parts and less on tools. Guys at work are all starting out. I was explaining several tools I have to make things so much easier. Their eyes glass over like Im showing them makeup or something. Guess where everything ends up to be worked on. I try to live my life in the "buy once cry once" frame of mind. Tools especially. You don't need a $1000 snap-on socket set. BUT that $10 off brand might just end up costing you $1000 when you break something off important.
couldn't agree more on the cheap stuff...been there..i try to just stay right down the middle..this master torx/hex set I got seemed expensive until my buddy got me a price off the snap on truck and was nearly 650 bucks for the same set...I opted for this one and its been great for 2 years now using it everyday...i still get glassy eyed when shopping for tools lol I've rolled the dice on some liquid shit tools before also..its frustrating
I absolutely meanty it when I said its the number one used tool in my shop...everyday it gets used..and going on close to 5 years with no issues and tons of hours on that one..cant beat it! IF this thing ever brakes ill be buying another..no questions.
G'day Regarding the torque wrenches, in one of your older videos you had ep tools, small (2.26-22.6 nm) and larger (13.6-203.5 nm). In this one you've got the lexivon small (1.1-16.9 nm) and larger (33.9-338.9 nm). With ep auto, between the two covered 2.26-203.5 nm with a small overlap between 13.6 and 22.6 nm however with the lexivon there is a gap of 17 nm between the high of the small one (16.9 nm) and the low of the larger one (33.9 nm). What do you do for the settings in between the two? Cheers Shane
you can always use the converter calculator or chart like this one if your wrenches dont reach a certain number mnrvortxrpehayabusa.blogspot.com/2013/12/torque-conversion-chart.html
I have a few of their tools and been pleased with everything so far...ill replace as I need to and I end up looking at more of their stuff as the gearwrench stuff is pretty over priced and im pretty sure it on par with harbor freights Icon line
its in there lol its a big list sorry..but here is the lift and here is the additional center jack I bought Aplus Motorcycle Lift - amzn.to/3QBqSGM Orion Motorcycle Scissor Lift - amzn.to/3URsLBL
I bet you have quite the collection then...A lot of these tools I this shop are quite old too....I keep a spare set up in the house garage and that's where my older ones go...saves me a trip to the shop every time I need something lol
I bought the Icon T handle torx, hex etc from Harbor freight. They have held up well. The rest of the Harbor freight stuff I’ll pass. The Pittsburg tool line is garbage. Just my opinion. Milwaukee makes great shit lol. My wife hates it when I’m on Home Depot’s site. I do believe I’m gonna try out the master torx set you have. The craftsman ones I have are wore out. They are soft. Great video Steve. Ride safe.
Hey Edward..I agree...some of the HB stuff is ok...i do have a few things that dont get used much and have lasted...this torx set has been great though...ive used it everyday for 2 years now and no issues at all. Im the same way with Milwaukee stuff and my son works at home depot going through college so he lets me know when new stuff pops up on the shelves lol
Its a shame they changed the drawer locking mechanism on all the new boxes though. They do a great job (so far) of locking the drawers but are a PITA to open.
Tool car is just one of those things you don’t realize how badly you needed it until you have it. It’s an absolute game changer, especially because most of the shit you do you move from one side to the other and you gotta move all your shit my hand this way it’s all on the cart you push it around to the other side game on.
yes sir,...changed my every day routine for sure..." ok i got this side done, now I have to gather everything up and shove it under the bike to the other side and then forget 2 things and have to walk my ass back around and get it" LOL I did a lot of research on the carts before ordering..I like gearwrench but they are kind if pricey but this piece is pretty spot on compared to the others and the leg is offset pretty far and not right down the middle so it allows me to really get it up next to me under the lift.
yeah ive tried it..even got the white out pens..you can see it but it always rubs off lol i guess its still cheaper than replacing your torque wrenches
hahha agreed! Id prefer snap on too...but these all work just fine...and that cart is kind of pricey but compare it to the others on the market and its in the same ballpark...I like the offset on the leg going down..it allows me to get it right under my lift and pulled right up next to me...most of the others have the leg smack in the middle
The only thing that I did not see for your cart was snap-ring pliers. Thank you Sirs, excellent video!
Thank you Todd...I did mention and show my snap ring pliers at 9:02 in the video...I showed a good set and talked about the importance of getting a good set and not a cheap set with interchangeable heads.

im telling you it is worth the money...best tool I have
Get one! I have issues with one wrist that has pins and screws and it has saved me a lot of pain and discomfort not just in the garage but the house too.
I find this just as I’m putting together a list of some basic tools I need to start working on my bike.. Perfect timing! 😃
glad to help Sean!!
I used nail clippers for trimming tie wraps/ zip ties. 🇬🇧🏍️💨👍
as long as it works in getting rid of the little gnarled ends..those things hurt
Great video. I always see these 350 piece mechanics tool sets that come with 150 screwdriver bits.
lol yeah some of them are sham.

hey toby!! thank you man...much appreciated!
Great video Steve! I'd like to know if you could recommend a less expensive alternative for cam chest tools. Such as bearing removal and installation.
I dont do many of those and my buddy has some tools I use when I need them...and they are the V-twin Manufacturing brand...not sure if there is any cheapers ones out there that work
Can you do one on your detail stuff you use please
yes i have a newer detail video coming out soon...I already have several but some of those products are outdated
