Hey Justin, started watching your videos last night and i must say, I AM HOOKED. You do a great job breaking down the business model and making the information relatable. Keep up the good work my man!
In my first week of advertising and making before and after content from a few free example jobs, I now have 3 home washes, a can wash and anothere home plus driveway wash in the talks, thank you for everything , I can't wait to join the courses.
I clean my own trash cans and I use a leaf blower to dry them. I don't get them 100% dry but I get the bulk water off of them. Helps keep them from showing spots.
This is so useful since I’m planning to start a business exactly like this. I can use use my uncle’s pressure washer (2700 psi) and the neighborhood he lives has plenty of elderly folks, who might be too old to wash or mess around with their bins so it’s perfect. Once I have a lot of of money saved up I’ll buy my own pressure washer and a gardening wagon to put all the supplies.
How do you do your pricing? For instance, is it $50 a can for you for a one time clean, once a month? Or do you offer packages based on one time cleans versus multiple times a month?
Question. Where do you wash their bin? On their driveway? On gravel? Do I need to be weary of chemicals (SH, degreaser, dawn dish soap) getting on grass and killing the grass ?
That is the Achilles heel for this business. As for cleaning, I would use a cleaning vinegar (6% acidic acid) mixed with baking soda, but where to put the dirty residue water? That is the $64,000 question.

What do you do about the runoff from the water inside the bin after washing it. I’m sure it collects a ton of garbage residue. Do you pour that water into a container? Dump it into the drain? Need answers lol, trying to get this going
In my area there could be environmental issues with the county allowing chemicals and waste water onto the gutter and then eventually into the storm drain system and then into creek and beyond.

And I charged $20 for both because it’s very cheap for a dirty job and I’m young so people enjoy the work ethic.
Hey man I’m not sure if you mentioned this in the video but what do you do with runoff water? Do you purposefully clean the cans near a storm drain so it drains into them?
I started looking into this a week ago. This has been the most info in the shortest time I’ve seen. Right now I’m a bird scooter fleet manager. Constantly moving around the city like the ice cream man. This is a good fit for me. Will keep you posted on progress. New sub
Water in the bottom of the can and some ammonia…. Let it sit and then simply broom and rinse… done…. Military housing inspects everything before you leave…. Works every time!
You could be fined for letting the dirty water go into the fresh rainwater storm drains. As for the lawn, if you had a nice lawn which you took time to create, would you want someone putting stinky, chemical laced residue on it? 🙂
Are clients concerned with what chemicals are used and do you have issues with letting chemicals wash down street to storm drains? Also, do you take the trash that comes out of the cans or bag it and deposit it back in their can when finished?
Wash water recovery is a big deal. I am in the mobile truck washing industry. Depending on the area, but most places the only water that should go down the storm drain is rain water. You could be subject to fines. I have spent most of my time and California. I now represent a National company and have travel to markets all over the US. So check your local laws to avoid a potential big fine.

With that cheap pressure washer set up, you have to use the client's water. The fancy mobile ones that have their own water and also does hot water clean ups are worth thousands of dollars. Do a small investment first and if the business gets really going then you can consider buying a trailer that has the hot water/cold water combo with it's own water tank. You don't want to go big and find out there's not a huge market for your services and waste your $$ and have to make monthly payments.
Dude this is the best video ever im retired and thinking about doing this thanks for all the tips and slides :) just one question best places to advertise ?
Is there a setup where you can have a 60 gallon (500lb) water barrel on board with some sort of 12vDC sump "style" pump connected to a Craftsman model CR950 1400-3000 psi pressure washer and a garden hose?
If you are starting, do you use your customers electricity? Or how do you do. Or suggest a battery powered one. I saw one 40V 800 PSI 1.0 GPM, will it get the job done?
Wow thank you so much for posting this video brother ! This definitely helps alot as im struggling to find customers around my areas in southern california this helps alot and super appreciate the time your for making the video! Definitely will be getting the course as soon as I can ty!
Would you lose money or be a bad idea to pickup all the bins and then spray them at your house near a drain. This would avoid the hooking up to customers water line and most likely win over customers... what do you think let me know
Sounds like too much hassle, plus more gas going back and forth to customer's houses and you would need at least a pickup truck (which would only hold 2 cans max if even)
Good content bro, I was think about getting something like started up for my teenage son so he can do around the neighborhood during the weekend and summer break. Appreciate the video bro!! 👌🏼

Would you lose money or be a bad idea to pickup all the bins and then spray them at your house near a drain. This would avoid the hooking up to customers water line and most likely win over customers... what do you think let me know
Sounds like too much hassle, plus more gas going back and forth to customer's houses and you would need at least a pickup truck (which would only hold 2 cans max if even)
Storm sewer drains are for fresh rain water only.
