One crucial detail is the difference between the quality of 4K videos. The X-S10 records in 6K and downsamples it to 4K to bring a very-detailed video. The A6600 does a 1.23x crop when shooting in 4K 30p while the X-S10 is uncropped in all frame rates. Another advantage of the Fuji (in my opinion) is it has better color science. Though the A6600 does have third party lens (i.e. Sigma) and a longer lasting battery.
My XS10 arrives next week, appreciate the comment and detailed reviews. The features packed into the small design seem perfect for my ideal solo wedding videography setup. XS10 + gimbal and a few prime lenses all under 720 grams of weight had me sold. Plus I love what I’ve seen out of the Fuji colors.
SeaBay86 can you tell me please in a wedding videography day how many batteries spend ? i am between a6600 and xs10 and the battery life of Fuji she make me afraid. XS10 + gimbal and a few prime is the best i think too (sorry for my english}
One suggestion: Please make photo samples of the same subject/distance. Also the lens details are very important. Kit lens/prime lens. Fuji seems to have great Kit lens with F 2.8/4. Flickr images will definitely make Sony looks better because of the subjects/background, not because of the camera.
Exactly the kind of video I needed, thank you! X-S10 ticks most boxes as a hybrid camera for me (so does A6600, but I want the Fuji for stills and fully articulating display) but I've decided to save up to get a used X-T4 instead. I want those classic style dials and longer recording
@@drmsm-muhammadsarang the list is too long...to make it short, Sony used outdated tech. Hopefully they'll come out with a new series of aps-c cameras soon...
@@johnnyr-518 that would be the xt-4^^ (but yes, the xt-4 is too expensive for many people, including me) for the same price as the xt-4 one could buy the sony a7c. (both have their pros and cons)
Great video. You’ve made my decision a little harder but I’m erring towards a Fuji XT4 or XS10. Once again thanks for all the hard work in producing these videos, I’ve learnt a lot from them.
The most major difference is rolling shutter. X-S10 like the X-T4 has almost no jelly effect in motion while Sony can never seem to get that under control. So if you are doing video, have the camera on a tripod if you choose the Sony. The X-S10 can be used for panning and action.
IMO the Fuji is still better. Price wise it comes with the excellent 18-55mm Lens, the IBIS is way better and it has the nice Color presets. Battery life is superiors on the Sony and the record limit doesn’t bother with 30 min. Lens wise Fuji has more affordable Lenses and also the best apsc amount of lenses. I had the a6400 which has the same screen which felt not that good. Autofocus is better on the Sony but I had with my X-S10 no problems with that.
I had XS10 and switched to Sony a6600 for better focus. Yes it's better focus but the pictures quality from XS10 were way better. I gotta go back to XS10. Thanks
10:00 I've grown to like the idea of usbc as a headphone jack because most phones now are using the USBC port for headphones too so I'm actually usually walking around with USBC headphones anyway. Thanks for the great comparison
If you have headphones with a USB jack than you should be fine, I say should because I have found many adaptors do not work. My annoyance is losing the adaptors, I have lost 2 so far.
I agree, the images from the Fuji are amazing, the Sony scores for me when I am filming as there is no record limit and I can run the camera from a USB power brick, great for when I am filming my reviews as I do not need to keep and eye on the 30 minute record limit.
It is not a trully fair comparison, as X-S10 is much cheaper than A6600. Something like Fuji X-T4 would be much better, even though it is a bit more expensive than A6600, but well worth the cost.
Thanks so much for this video! I own the X-S10, but I am thinking about switching to the A6600 for videos simply because Sony has more lenses. But then again I would miss so much that 240fps and fully articulated screen of the Fuji. The X-S10 cannot record endlessly over HDMI btw, it will overheat after 40 mins unfortunately. Keep up the good job... subbed ;)
@@neoenemy4145 it looks like every camera has some positive and negatives. Unfortunately some negatives are really tough to go by... honestly fuji does not have AF bright wide angles, and this is a big deal for me. I'm sticking with my x-S10 for now, but I have my ear to the ground if something better pops up
Biggest advantage of the XS-10 is that it's in the price range of the a6400 while having more video-centric capabilities than the a6600. Internal recorded UHD quality is nowhere near an a6400 and the 4K DCI is a bit worse than in Sony's APS-C's, but in the end it wins out by not withholding features that should be standard in this price range, like audio monitoring through headphones or 10-bit video out. Fun fact, the XS-10 is the least expensive camera with 10-bit video, I'd get it just for that feature, makes all the difference in post.
Hi Im going to buy my first camera...Im more on videography and I cant decide which on this 2...I think both are good...and Im going to take whats ur recommendation to buy...whether its a sony or fujifilm...Thanks...!!..
Its a tough choice, both cameras perform very well. I would say for video the Sony has the edge, better AF in video and no record limit, but the Fuji does have the articulating screen.
I am getting an XS10 with 18 to 55 at a great price. How is the AF for stills on this camera, especially tap to focus. I have been using the A6000 with 56 f1.4 and 30mm f1.4. Is the AF on XS10 better than A6000. What lenses are the equivalents of the 56 and 30mm Sigma on the Fuji system?
I looked at the images on flickr (links in the description) and I much prefer pictures made by Sony. I was so sure that I was getting Fuji, now I just don't know.
colors science is very subjective please check flickr link, although here images are in different conditions so you won't be able to compare it fairly.
@@Maria66982 I think Sony pictures look different mostly because they have been shot from closer distance or more zoomed in. This creates stronger backround blur and subject isolation which for many looks better. Also in Sony pics there are colorful flowers and cats while fuji pics are depicting colourwise more flat subjects eg. general green garden stuff. At least three different lenses were also used for sony while Fuji was only using kit lens quite and often at the wider end.
@@Maria66982 Someone already said it's not a fair comparison because shots are completely different.
