i am tearing up right now because i am so glad he is doing well after covid. But also deeply torn that i will never be able to afford to visit him in Japan... its been one of my deepest regrets after seeing him on the "Worth it" series.

Michellin stars are overrated and not an indicator of quality food. I haven't been to a single restaurant with any Michellin stars and i've had some fantastic foods from those restaurants. Conversely I know people who have been to Michellin starred restaurants and were served really bad expensive food. Kichi Kichi Omurice is doing just dine without them and honestly they have enough notority with social media anyway that they don't need Michellin stars.

If you asked anyone outside of Japan if they know him, I say 2 out of 10 will say yes. The michellin star helps him gain recognition in the international level.
