Lucky to have been able to travel to Japan, Kagoshima, twice for work. Best country I have ever visited. Would love to go back for holiday. Love the food, the people , the geography. Fantastic 😊
Just bought one of these pans. I won't attempt this Master's heights, but I made a couple with three eggs each and it was surprisingly easy (I used a spatula to turn) and fun. Egg streudel! I'm gonna start adding (finely chopped) omelette fixings to the egg mixture. But even with just with a little soy sauce, sweet vinegar, and S&P they're really good.
I always just thought it was so charming that Asian countries cook with chopsticks until I tried it- wow, you have such a finer touch with your food and so much more control over it. It’s a game changer! 🙌🏼

I thought I’d get bored but somehow I didn’t. And now I really want a torta, which is what my grandma called a circular omelette she’d make for us. That’s not what a torta actually is. This is amazing to watch and to listen to. I felt strangely relaxed from the sounds of the frying pan and making of the tamagoyaki bread here. The finished product also looks quite lovely.
I'd love to know what's in his egg mix. Very homogeneous, very viscous. More like a light batter than just egg. But it puffs up perfectly. Maybe a lot of milk and butter, mixed very well?
Has anyone ever realized how neat the Japanese Street vendors have many neat gadgets to cook these wonderful food dishes. Has anyone ever done a documentary about making each of these gadgets? I think that it would be fascinating.

We use to do one at a time in a restaurant I worked in, it was part of our Japanese breakfast we offered. That was hard enough and we had strict instruction around colour and layering. Ours was cut thin and served with slices of grilled thin cut salmon and rice. So tasty.
Wonderful culture, wonderful food, we were going to spend a couple of years there but after FukUshima happened & is still going on with no end in sight we opted out of one of our greatest bucket list dreams. I'm studying how to make the perfect tamagoyaki. After many years of research and studying I finally now how the make a winner tamagoyaki. But... it's not perfect.. but I will keep trying to perfect it .. and when I do I will finally accomplish all my goals. The ingredients are.. •Eggs (4) •Milk (1 ts) •soya sause (1 ts) •Sugar (1 ts) Directions •Mix like in anime •Mix •More mixing •And more •warm that thing that's outside on top of the oven •put a little bit of oil on your pan (u can use round to but square is best for tamagoyaki) •spread with paper •Pour forth of the mixture (30.3333333325% out of 100% of the mixture) •wait for 25 seconds •Mix it carefully so the egg doesn't burn but not to much . Amal Faraj....not sleepy, just hungry. I can smell the roast pork cooking at the Chinese restaurant around the corner. It drives me crazy, every Wednesday night. They cook late, so I can't even order some until tomorrow, but then I will have forgotten and will have coffee and toast in the morning.
As joyful and mouthwatering as it is to watch it from the start, it's at about 10:55 onwards when it's in the bun, that you really feel the love of the whole thing.
I was terrified that each of those was for a single sandwich, but was relieved at the final result being a smaller portion. Even as an American, I can only eat maybe three eggs at a time. looks heavenly in any case, so light and fluffy!
This method provides several opportunities to add other ingredients to the layers. I might add bacon or sausage to the first; then cabbage, green onion, mushrooms and/or olives to the next. Wow! Gotta get me a square pan.
This technique is like a Chef Ramsey venture!! I saw another video where the layers were thinner and the egg was rolled into the loaf pattern. But I would buy this just because I am not that type of cook!! 😀
I was blown away when I saw this guy pouring the third layer of eggs into the omelet. But then I see he cut it into peaces and served with bread. We Indians would like to add some minced onions, green pepper and diced tomatoes to it. I love Japanese people.
I think we tend to enjoy the ingredients themselves more. In this case, just the eggs, dashi, mirin, salt and so on. These Tamago-yaki usually go along the plain steamed rice, but they are delicious with bread.

I like this way of slow cooking. It would highlight extra soft texture of eggs and prevent it from getting burnt. As it's made thick, it could be served with many different sandwich hotdog and even as appetizers. Japanese is not greatest chef but cleverest to make maximum use of raw ingredient...

In fairness he did made *six* omelettes, and each one *feeds 5-6 people.* You try making 30-36 omelettes in just over 10 minutes... I think you'll find his method is actually pretty fast...
The eggs will cool and the steam will dissipate before being placed in their containers. The steam wood cause the eggs to become soggy. To avoid this at home you would use a slice of bread, napkin or paper towel underneath the omelette before putting it on the plate; if you are not serving it right away.

this is why i started using tongs when cooking. It's not as fine as chopsticks, but better control. I'd like to invest on chopsticks in the future.

The sauce added to the sandwich makes it delicious. If you had watched the whole video, you would see that it is cut and put into the bun.

In fairness he did made *six* omelettes, and each one *feeds 5-6 people.* You try making 30-36 omelettes in just over 10 minutes... I think you'll find his method is actually pretty fast...

What about the plastic containers ... with warm food ... cancer causing chemicals?
The eggs will cool and the steam will dissipate before being placed in their containers. The steam wood cause the eggs to become soggy. To avoid this at home you would use a slice of bread, napkin or paper towel underneath the omelette before putting it on the plate; if you are not serving it right away.

Looks great 👍 That's how I make mine. A little milk, or water and they fluff right up. However, I put in some other "stuff" usually. Like onions 🌺, maybe bell pepper, bacon, tomatoes, etc. Cured jowl bacon is the BOMB 💥 Love from Kentucky ❤️💕
