Mime Your Manners is an animated short film about an arrogant man who berates a mime. As a consequence, he is transformed into a mime until he learns to treat others how he would like to be treated. Mime Your Manners won the silver medal in the domestic animation category at the 47th Student Academy Awards. studentacademyawards.org/

I'll never understand why people hate mimes so much. It's such a cool next level art form.

Some people don't like them because, as shown in the film, if you touch one, you become one 😅
It is because Mimes make a career out of mocking people and that can be very irritating if the mime in question doesn't have a sense of propriety.
Mimes make ordinary(?) clowning seem easy in comparison.Imagine trying to be funny without making any sound.

I think, from what I saw in the cartoon, The Mime Curse can only be passed on only IF: 1) the Mime is acting nicely 2) The other person is acting mean, and 3) the other person voluntarily touches the Mime. Plus, once they have the Mime Curse, if they continue acting with malice, objects like walls and ladders and treadmills that are real only to them will appear to punish them in some way.
@@plucas1 well yes that’s the logic but I’d love to know more and thus this could be fleshed out into a full movie like after she gives him the curse he goes on this journey and meets other mimes and learns about the curse
To say the "sorry" is actually as important as to realise it and not for living by only "today", that's humanity. That's good animation.

I felt it necessary, because while not a lot actually happened, it _felt_ like a lot happened and I almost forgot how he was mimed.
@@GuukanKitsune Yes, you're right, a lot happened, but I just find it nicer at times to realise an explanation after actually thinking about it. Might be more rewarding or something, I don't know
Its was less to remind us and more to convey the character reflecting on the parallels of his encounter. He realized the mime he insulted didnt curse him, but was trapped and just tried to let him pass.
I unironically love the idea of mimes being a curse passed through society with the only cure being to better yourself as a person

this is actually intresting of how mime's actual use their imagination like it's real to them while people thinks they're just acting
So being a mime is a curse that can only be passed down to the rude & selfish. After one learns their lesson, they have to pass the curse to the next hapless person.
I got to wonder what happens when the mime meets someone who starts off rude but then catches themselves and either apologizes or just breaks down crying. Sometimes people really are just having a bad day and generally aren't rude or selfish people but are pushed to the point of stress intolerance.
It doesn't justify being rude, but it happens in real life that sometimes are manners slip for complex reasons.
But since the curse is more fixed on the behavior of the mime victim, I guess it would depend on the mime reactions to the situation. Do they continue being mad or do they decide to use their unwanted powers to do something good?
What happened to the girl at the start? How did she become a mime?
@@JackTheProJTPProbably was being rude to a person before she became the mime. Then she made contact with that person or something going by the logic of the curse.
Moral of this story is:
Never being judgemental and rude towards others.
