And as of 2020, Most of the FS-65s left are seen as race buses, converted into Homes for those that love to live life on the road, or as a backup bus. In some rare cases, there are FS-65 School Buses still in service as regular route buses.
Love this bus! The last bus I rode on just before I got my licence and drove to school was a 2001 like that but a 24 valve 5.9 Cummins. I remember it ran a bit hot for some reason. Fan was always on and off and transmission was always pretty hot even in winter ! Love your content !😎😊
I don't remember riding these type of buses but I do remember riding bluebird with cat and cummins and I remember riding a few ic with bluebird body with the 7.3 powerstroke
We still have some F’s 65s with the mbe 900 and the cat 3126 i6 none of them have luggage compartments. And all have air brakes, ride doors, and stop sign 🛑
@@FBHSswimmer2006 yes. However the ones with a cat 3126 have an AT545. it’s a terrible transmission and we had a few have their transmission quit working properly. And then blew.
@@charlesrodriguez7984 Our International buses with either the T444E or DT engines had the AT545 transmissions. Never had any issues. But our CAT 3126s didn't. They had the 5-speed auto Allison with the push button system. I don't know exactly which Allison it was though.
Our School District(Vallivue(in Nampa, Idaho)) still has FS-65s in Regular Route service. And I ride an FS-65 everyday to and from school. And My bus(#31) also has a Mercedes Benz engine. What is unique with my bus is that the doors open by how they opened School bus doors in the 1960s.
That is so awesome!!! Enjoy the rides and enjoy that bus! Sounds like they’re a bit unique out there then. Is that with one door side opens in and the other opens out? Or like the accordion style door?
That breaks my heart. Another perfectly functional oldie but a goodie school bus that will get intentionally destroyed all in the name of emissions and money. My old school district had the MBE engines in the first C2s but they had so many problems with them.
Thomas Freightliner, Mercedes-Benz engine. These brands work together, because they are from a same corporation: Daimler. Altough It has a Mercedes-Benz engine, I watch this bus Is automatic.
Can you do an FS65 startup with a Mercedes without talking during the startup and like 10-20 seconds after it’s running please lol. Trying to get a good video of one running
We have a ton of vans for the different districts that we operate with. They’re mostly used for special needs children and the vans are easier for loading/unloading. We have a mix of Chevy Express, Sprinters, Dodge Caravans, and Ford Vans that we use all over. We also have the Thomas Minotour buses as well for some private schools.
Such a huge waste schools or a church and many more places like day cares are always looking for buses not everyone cant afford new buses would have loved to have them seams like that D.E.R.A grant is a nothing but a huge waste such a shame and so sad many people could have befitted from those buses.
These and early Visions were my childhood.

CMLayton88, Not like an accordion. You know how they used to open the doors without air or electricity?
Oh gotcha. With the manual door opening. We have a couple of them (well, we HAD).
That is what my bus has. And it is a regular route bus.
And there aren’t a lot of Big School Buses with the manual door left in regular route service as a regular route bus.
When I was a driver there 0420 was my bus. Oh how that was my favorite bus.

does your company still have the 2007 Thomas EF that one sounded good
We do not, it is gone.

Is it possible to do a tour of a slightly older C2 (such as a 2012 or 2013)? If not then it's okay.
Absolutely! I can do that! I have a 2007 C2 on my channel, but I’ll definitely do a 2012 and/or a 2013!
@@CMLayton88 Ok thank you so much!
Can’t beat a Mercedes benz powered bus
What’s the difference between the high roof and the lower one beside that?
So the high roof gives you a good bit more headroom inside. Otherwise there isn’t really any difference. Just makes it nicer.
Nice vid! Do you have a Thomas EF to show off? They are my favorite buses of all time.
There is a 2021 EFX on my channel!
