6:36 I am not the biggest fan of them too, there is an option to order them with the rectangular style lights. In MA, (at least our local dealership does this) they order all of their buses with the rectangular style LED marker lights and turn signals. I think there probably is an option on the EFX and HDX to have the bigger lights too.
I was an electrical engineer at Thomas Bus for 13 years. I designed the body wiring harnesses for the EFX. I wasn't happy with the pin lights either. But at that that, there was a lot of politics at Thomas to use them because Bluebird was using them and they costs less. I think they are less likely to be hit by something, a tree limb for instance, but I agree they are not as visible.
now that is totally awesome videos about your school buses and i hope will be more to coming videos about your school buses .. can't wait to see more totally awesome videos
Did Thomas finally do away with the Freightliner beeping turn signals? Or is that an option that can be enabled/disabled? I also noticed the red light chime before you opened the door. Our HDX's had those back before Wisconsin had 8 ways, and it was just the two reds up front and rear, and the chime would ding the entire time you had them on without the door open. Our 2013 EFX's didn't do that with the three way switch and the ambers.
They probably didn’t have a large order for them so decided to end the production. Flat noses are nice to drive but they don’t last as long as regular conventional busses. In fact, I herd the IC RE’s are ending production soon.
3:31 I haven't ridden in a school bus that is released or facelifted after 2009, so I want to know how new school buses are like in the early 2020s. Passengers cars and light-duty vehicles have changed quite a lot since model year 2009, so I would like to know how it is with heavy-duty vehicles. I don't see any vents above the passenger seats. I also looked at Thomas' website and could not find a list of standard or optional features. Does this generation of bus (released model year 2012) have air conditioning? If it does, is it for the driver only or have the driver vents intentionally been made high velocity (search high velocity air conditioning) in order to cool the entire cabin? Does it come standard with it? What is the MSRP of the base model this bus, and what are the trims available? What is the fuel economy for the EPA's city and highway test cycles?
I love the bus in general and the old cumins and the profile of it to but I’m not a fan of the Thomas busses I like international buses but yeah great vid and I like the bus
So these are ordered by a contractor from our dealership. I believe they will be used in a city setting as they have the option to turn off the crossing arm.
OMG! You know, you’re right! I filmed it, but I don’t have it posted yet. Just something to look forward to. I’m sorry about that! It will be up in the coming weeks.
I hope my school distict never buys these! The aisles are already hard enough to go thru with a heavy book bag espesially with 2 water bottles sticking out the sides

I very much like the simple and compact dash setup of these.
This is more interesting than my zoom class. For some reason, I stuck till the end 🤔.
Thomas Saf-T Liner EFX's are one of the best!
Lol you can here a train in the back round nice vid
It’s a Nathan K5HL 3rd Gen
Most of the K5HLs are on the newer GE E44AC/DC (GEVO) locomotives.
I am gonna assume that First Student might buy this one since it uses Child Checkmate. I think this bus looks great.
That bus is a flat head cool!
Lovely looking Bus
Child Checkmate is the best product to use for any school bus. I love using that system.
My wife literally gave my bus’s Checkmate a name: Isaac.
Segovia Creative Media Can you show us what it looks like and how it sounds?
Q lindo estos buses no hay bus q le meta la mano al americano mi meta va cer tener mi propio bus
I like fe school buses because you can drive with the engine bay open and hear every bit of the engine
watch @claw boss talk shit about this buss

Yeah, I just think that for a vehicle that needs to be visible and safe, the little turn signals aren’t good.

@@CMLayton88 Do they sell used buses, I'm looking for an E-450 or F-550 to pull my camper with. Thanks, I subbed!
They do sell used buses. Just a bit slim on inventory. You can check a somewhat up to date list at www.RohrerBus.com.
I would like to see some shots of the electrical panel under the drivers window and the overall electrical harnessing
The grill looks like a Spartan Smeal engine
dang it thomas
Where I live in TN the Saf-T EFX Liner is pretty common.
i also like the bus
Where I live type D busses are way more common than type C.
I can’t imagine how hard it is to see anything in this tiny side mirrors
It takes some getting used to, but it’s not terrible. I prefer my C2 mirrors though for sure!

There are so nice
Cool well done Christopher!
I wonder how the bus would handle in the winter in snow coverd roads seeing it's short wheel base
I wish Washington county Maryland has these buses but they have Blue bird visions, IC CEs, and Thomas C2s only.
Great video, love seeing the Thomas buses. Quick question, where did them screws over the engine compartment cover come from?
The bus can be easy seen in Lowell if COVID-19 us gone
4:36 WHOA! CHRISTMAS TREE! 😂
Sure is! Haha
I wish south Carolina get some of these
Wow a Thomas efx
That’s a nice bus! I wonder why IC never made a new FE.

Hi CMLayton88,
Does this bus come in a shorter version like the earlier flat nose thomas saf-t-liners? Like a 36 passenger version?
9 mpg?!?! That’s quite high for school bus that big
Lmao
We got these with first student it has full LED lighting
This one have no leds except the taillights

This bus looks brand new from the front but old from the back
It took me three years to realize this was posted on september tenth
Think about the next day
FINALLY A FEAT IDEIA TO BUILD A FLAT FACE SCHOOL BUSES LIKE ANY OTHER REGULAR BUSES
Hope new buses have Child Checkmate installed since it is a good alarm. How about the 2015 C2?
Nice!
Also wheel spin is your normal spin and traction control
Hey dream I didn’t know you like school bus
With that wheelbase it would be ez too get around corners👍☺
The EFX is the HDX but the engine is up front if correct
Pretty much yes
i think the train in the background was a ET44AC
Why are the side turn signals so small ? That wouldn’t work well in Europe, the side blinker on a vw golf is bigger and more visible
4:30 is funny 😂😂😂😂
It’s like a Thomas hdx
Just about, but the engine is in the front on the EFX. Just makes it a bit shorter.
Oh
It does look kinda similar
hello tony stark xD :D
It Might Be Less Than 72
It could have been another version of the Thomas HDX
100th comment btw, cool vid
I never liked the motors in the front of theses kind of buses. i do love the look of it though. Sweet
Has a nice front, don’t know why but reminds me of an European fire engine.
The reverse beep sound like a fire alarm
Smoke alarm 🚨 beeper lol
I’ve never seen a bus short like that, but yet it can hold 72 people- I’m so confused lol.
