Most of the K5HLs are on the newer GE E44AC/DC (GEVO) locomotives.
Thomas Saf-T Liner EFX's are one of the best!
Child Checkmate is the best product to use for any school bus. I love using that system.
My wife literally gave my bus’s Checkmate a name: Isaac.

I am gonna assume that First Student might buy this one since it uses Child Checkmate. I think this bus looks great.
6:36 I am not the biggest fan of them too, there is an option to order them with the rectangular style lights. In MA, (at least our local dealership does this) they order all of their buses with the rectangular style LED marker lights and turn signals. I think there probably is an option on the EFX and HDX to have the bigger lights too.
Yeah, I just think that for a vehicle that needs to be visible and safe, the little turn signals aren’t good.
I was an electrical engineer at Thomas Bus for 13 years. I designed the body wiring harnesses for the EFX. I wasn't happy with the pin lights either. But at that that, there was a lot of politics at Thomas to use them because Bluebird was using them and they costs less. I think they are less likely to be hit by something, a tree limb for instance, but I agree they are not as visible.

They probably didn’t have a large order for them so decided to end the production. Flat noses are nice to drive but they don’t last as long as regular conventional busses.
In fact, I herd the IC RE’s are ending production soon.
@@jackschissler255 I don’t think they’ll end ic RE production. I think they’ll redesign it and call it something else.
I doubt the IC RE is going out of production.

It takes some getting used to, but it’s not terrible. I prefer my C2 mirrors though for sure!

Why are the side turn signals so small ? That wouldn’t work well in Europe, the side blinker on a vw golf is bigger and more visible

Where I live type D busses are way more common than type C.
Where I live in TN the Saf-T EFX Liner is pretty common.
Did Thomas finally do away with the Freightliner beeping turn signals? Or is that an option that can be enabled/disabled? I also noticed the red light chime before you opened the door. Our HDX's had those back before Wisconsin had 8 ways, and it was just the two reds up front and rear, and the chime would ding the entire time you had them on without the door open. Our 2013 EFX's didn't do that with the three way switch and the ambers.

I wish Washington county Maryland has these buses but they have Blue bird visions, IC CEs, and Thomas C2s only.
3:31 I haven't ridden in a school bus that is released or facelifted after 2009, so I want to know how new school buses are like in the early 2020s. Passengers cars and light-duty vehicles have changed quite a lot since model year 2009, so I would like to know how it is with heavy-duty vehicles. I don't see any vents above the passenger seats. I also looked at Thomas' website and could not find a list of standard or optional features. Does this generation of bus (released model year 2012) have air conditioning? If it does, is it for the driver only or have the driver vents intentionally been made high velocity (search high velocity air conditioning) in order to cool the entire cabin? Does it come standard with it? What is the MSRP of the base model this bus, and what are the trims available? What is the fuel economy for the EPA's city and highway test cycles?

We got these with first student it has full LED lighting

What do you guys use the efx for cause in North Carolina they dont use any thing but c2s down there
So these are ordered by a contractor from our dealership. I believe they will be used in a city setting as they have the option to turn off the crossing arm.

It is the Cummins ISB 200.
Incorrect engine. This is the cummins b6.7. The cummins isb is discontinued in 2017

My bus is a 2009 rt500
For a 2021 i feel like this bus was a lazy design. Looks like a cheap toy inside and out.. Lacks so many necessary amenities needed for the driver and students.. And school busses are made for normal sized elementary kids. When you get middle high school on there, that starting capacity breaks in half quickly. And it's crazy how they still installed the low glass on the back door for drivers when you won't be able to see out of it with 3 high schoolers crammed into one seat. My opinion. Don't hate.
I can agree with you. A lot of the spec are ordered by the buyer, so my guess is that the district that ordered this one wanted it this way.
