  • Our last film for Holy Week is Victoria’s masterful ‘Popule Meus’, commonly known as the Reproaches, which is always sung after the Adoration of the Cross on Good Friday. Victoria’s genius shines through every note, immersing us in the desolation and anguish of Christ’s Passion:
“O my people, what have I done to you?
Or how have I offended you?
    Answer me.
Because I led thee out of the land of Egypt: thou hast prepared a Cross for thy Saviour."
The Stations of the Cross depicted in the film are from the ceiling of St. Columbkille's Church, Rutherglen.
