    Breaking the hegemony would be arsenal or tottenham winning. Breaking out of mediocrity would be everton. Breaking the mid table curse would be palace or newcastle. He broke the league. The achievement is so good it is not able to put to words. No one can ever achieve that. Man city or lpool could legit win 38 games still unmatched.

      I can understand this but we couldn't build a statue after he was sacked and the real point is that people at the club knew that others were equally or more integral to the title win than Ranieri was. It unfolded the following season. He was turning up halfway through training sessions and scrapping what Shakespeare was working on, making them work tactically on a 3-5-2 all week and then setting the team up 4-4-2 every weekend. There were also people talking about his time at Valencia and various clubs in Italy where he was very good when he came in and worked with what he had and got the teams settled. He came in and took Pearson's team. All the key players were Pearson signings. When it's his turn to build his own team the signings were a mess and it all falls apart. We were heading for relegation before they sacked him. It's very sad and Leicester fans will always love him but there couldn't be a Ranieri statue. There were wall murals all over the city of him and the team at the time but they couldn't put it all on him.

    • @SA-pj3fz
      @SA-pj3fz 4 года назад +26

      Rainieri kept everything the same and almost sent them down to the Championship, he got sacked like 6 months after he won the title.
      The team has moved on and in the end, Ranieri would have held them back. There really is no point in building a statue if he didn’t even last 2 seasons at the club. That’s like putting a statue up for a one season wonder, it doesn’t make sense

    • @richieyoung88
      @richieyoung88 4 года назад +12

      @@AdamLunn08 fully agree. The players the were key to that team Pearson signed them and he deserves alot of credit for putting down the base for that teams success. Players Claudio did then sign most all flopped. I think Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel will get statues or something special named after them when they leave Leceister City. They are the only two players who were key to winning the 2015/2016 premier league title and the 2020/2021 Fa Cup. They are true Legends of Leceister City 🙌.

    People compare Leicester winning the league to Greece winning euro 2004, or Denmark in 1992
    A league is always more of an achievement than a cup, Greece had to play I think 6 games, Denmark 5 games to win their respective trophies.
    Any team can play 5 good matches and have some luck, Norwich started this season really well and everyone was raving about Pukki, but now they are all but relegated.
    Because playing 38 games is much harder than winning a cup in any sport.

    The thing is, on many occasions the little boys have their short spells, most commonly at the beginning of the season where they're pinching at the big boys and for that moment in time, we all look at how wonderful it is, but in all honesty expect and rightly so, for them to come down to earth and drop down the league, because the bug 6 just have incredibly quality teams of depth. But Leicester kicked on, and to strive to keep that form going for 38 games is nothing short of magical. Because a few losses after first 8-10 games of wins is more than enough to put their flame out, but they didn't let that happen.

    At the start of the season many people thought that Leicester would be relegated, and most people probably thought they'd finish in the bottom 6. I doubt that many people thought they'd finish above Pulis's solid 11-14th range West Brom team, let alone Everton, Koeman's Southampton, Hughes's Southampton who were a good team at the time etc, let alone the all of the heavyweights. An insanely good achievement.
