Another great video Simon. We have a Springer Spaniel and my wife keeps telling me that I should take him out with me!! So far I've refused 😊 I honestly couldn't cope. You managed surprisingly well considering. I loved the river image 👌
I think it looked like I copped pretty well, but in reality it was a real nightmare. Bless her, I will take her again but not when it’s so wet and cold.
I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to put my camera on a tripod with a very active dog about, but she is adorable to watch. I enjoyed the creative shot of the water in the stream. It really came out well.
Willow looks to be in fine fettle. A couple of belters 'from nothing'. I did the stop and think thing a couple of weeks back when I was totally overwhelmed by a new (to me) woodland. After a wee while, I had four images without moving more than a few feet, a couple of wider views, and a couple of floor shots with the macro lens. Very productive day in an amazing location; Thorncombe Woods near Dorchester. As always, thanks for sharing Simon.
Glad somebody else has a mad dog, I think you coped very well with all the distractions caused by Willow. The river shot is stunning love the beautiful colour tones. I imagine Willow fell fast asleep when you returned home lovely to see her enjoying the countryside. Two stunning shots as always, what would have done without Willow's lead!!!
Thank you, Annette. She did spend the rest of the day sleep as it happens, but it never takes that long before she’s up and acting like a crazy animal once again I will certainly take her along on another photo shoot but perhaps not when it’s quite so cold and damp.
Two absolutely fascinating images. 😮 … Finding an image where the little river is incorporated, I would certainly have done as well. 😊 but it would have never occurred to me that a leaf on leaf could create such a striking photograph. 😮 … well done, sir. 😊
wow - the water shot is almost Turner-esque 🙂,and I love the leaf-on-leaf action! lovely to see Willow enjoying the outdoors, Dexter watched along with me rather jealously, as he's not allowed off his lead (he's a border terrier with zero recall skills!!)
Poor Willow! She really tried to draw your attention to the best bits, but you just wouldn't be told... I liked the leaves. I'm generally reluctant to depart from my customary 3x2 or 1x1, but this crop, following the general line of the beech rib, worked very well indeed.
I was quite impressed by the river shot as I wasn't certain what you were going for until you showed it! The image of the leaf was another educational moment for me. LOL....loved to see Willow in your video, I know they can sometimes be a nuisance but she certainly made me laugh as she covered your camera bag with fallen leaves!! Hope to see more of her in the future. Thanks Simon for today's fun!
I probably will take Willow again, but perhaps not when it’s so cold and wet. she loves getting wet and can’t help herself in doing so but when it comes to sitting down in the cold, it’s not that great for her. Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching.
Morning Simon. Man, that is one manic dog. Enjoy this, yet another video from you out doing for it as you do best. Interesting set of photographs today, with my favourite being the panorama of the abstract leaf shot from below. That's quite lovely. Get it printed. Get it for sale. You have so many of these gems now Simon, it's about time that you did an exhibition properly. Hope you're well mate. Off to Texas next week I will try and catch you when I get back
I expect seen Willow like that was quite a surprise. She’s normally snoozing when you see her. I’ve just realised I haven’t sent you that picture. Oops.
Hi Simon, two beautiful images inspiringly created. I kept looking at the beech/roan leaf and I found myself wanting to flip it round - I think it's because the stem of the beech leads in from the right, to the left. As we read from left to right, I wonder if leading from left to right might feel more 'natural'/comfortable. Of course, framing it as you have done has certainly caught my attention and earned my engagement. Thank you.
@@heathermtaylor7683 I hear you Heather but I tend to leave things as I find them most of the time unless there’s an opportunity to create a more compelling image. By that, I mean so it changes the image completely and fools the views by doing so. Not so much with a straight shot like this.
@SimonBoothPhotography - You are the artist here, Simon - the inspirational creative. I love what you do and how you see things. To be honest, I tend to keep my images as they have been framed and shot. There's an integrity to what you are creating and that resonates with me.
Thanks again Simon wonderful advice . Lot's of times one looks but don't see, The water shot is fantastic. Ps maybe you should trrain the dog to keep busy by holding the video camers! 🤣😂
Wonderful pictures Simon, and you never mentioned that cuties name. W.C. Fields always said one should not be on stage with either kids or animals. She had stolen the show. 😂😂😂
Hi Simon, just a quick question, with the overhead leaf shot, could you not have hand held the camera, and increased the iso to give you sufficient shutter speed to avoid shake? Given that you're shooting medium format, would a higher iso matter?
With all the dog goings on, I forgot to add the settings detail. I was already at 800iso. My camera tends to degrade the image higher than that. Plus, getting the sensor plane parallel to the subject was critical to get sharpness across the entire frame. It’s much more hit and miss hand held.
Maybe you don’t need to bemoan having the dog too much. I think it made you look at different opportunities that you don’t photograph quite as regularly on the channel?
You have a special, special gift. I am in awe of what you 'see'. Another triumph.
Willow is adorable. I loved watching her digging and throwing leaf litter all over. Your images today! Wow. Both are stunning.
And it’s not the first time she’s done it either. Thank you ever so much for watching once again.
A leaf hopper called a dog and fine images to boot. Thanks for the smiles and images.
@@lynnecliffe3056 thank you Lynne. Shame she got chilly. She was no trouble really.

Simon, your pic of the water patterns on the river is outstanding!
That’s very kind of you indeed Andrew

A camera on a tripod, a dog, and water...what could possibly go wrong? Simon, you are a brave man!!
@@glenhopes8233 everything, absolutely everything 😆
Another fruitful time out Simon. I can't help it, but I want to flip your last picture so it goes light to dark. Keep shooting.
I can appreciate why you would say that, cheers

Now you mention it. It did have that warm colour tone that you often see in those paintings. I hadn’t really noticed, but thank you.
The shot of the river is so beautiful, love the colors and the mood. 👌
Thank you, Hugo
