@@VehicleVirals I think you meant 4900 not 49,000 lol😏😏😏😏
I bought an 01 IS300 a few years ago for $3k for my high school son to drive.
180k miles but well maintained. Ran great.
Only thing I had to do was change an 02 sensor on it to pass inspection.
Paint was fading a bit but no rust.
Great first car choice.
After he wrecked it, it was time for him to buy his own car.
He was dead set on a BMW with a manual transmission.
After doing my research I really pushed him to finding one with a NA engine and great service history.
That coupled with the manual made the search a bit harder but finally found the right one and snatched it up.
I can help him with maintenance and repairs that have good online instructions (forums or RUclips).
So the next few years we’ll both get to live the used BMW ownership experience and see what it’s all about.
When he gets older and has more disposable income he’ll be in a better position to get something with more power that he can mod/tune.
Found an 08 328i w/manual transmission for $3500.
It does have 175k miles; but well maintained including replacement of common failure points, no wrecks/clean Carfax, super clean inside and out.
Looks sharp for a base car, black on black and window tint.
Runs great so far, and no issues (about 2k miles out on it).
Just showed him how to do oil, transmission, and rear diff fluid changes.
Only code is a fog sensor.
Picked up on of these as it should be useful over the course of ownership:
www.ebay.com/itm/Foxwell-NT510-BMW-All-System-Engine-ABS-SRS-Airbag-Car-Diagnostic-Tool-Scanner/122614534929?pageci=bf5c98a1-612c-4525-9d75-93dc20c096c4&epid=2137074207
The power is adequate, but obviously nothing crazy.
But it a very nice handling car for a stock sedan for $3500.
The IS300 handled good, but this is much better.
I can throw it around a twisty road and it just sticks/stays planted and goes/stays right on your line.
The manual makes it a lot of fun to drive.
Stay away from the BMW’s please. They are $5,000 for a reason I’m trying to save you money here
I own one
Edit: I posted this over a year ago wow thanks for all the likes 🙏🏽
Yoda Master I got lucky getting a 528xi for only 4K because the girl selling it was in debt to the bank 4 grand and needed the money quick, 112k miles and all I’ve had to do was replace a front strut and the right headlight after driving it to 160k
I had used e46 325ci. I was young (23) and stupid. My first car was e36 323ci. (M52b25) 4 year of driving it and never dissapoint me.
So i decided to buy e46 325ci (m54b25)
I spend 3k £ to fix it and after 2 years i decided to scrape it due to oil burning... 6 k gone (i had enough)...now i have some shi corsa 1.3 for 500 pounds.( its slow as fuu )
But 3 years and 40k miles nothing major happen to this day.
Now im afraid to buy bmw again... i had nightmares for one year that im driving my bmw and it broke in the middle of the highway...
I own a 335 xi e90 its amazing
my 335i was 5,500 and I’ve only had to replace front strut mounts.
I bought a e46 and it’s not horribly bad for 3k. Just fixing what the previous owners ignored
I love how the bug-eye looks
Btw, keep making these vids, they’re my favorite!
Same but they’re always 175k+ miles 🥺🥺
Nice work Christian!

I had one of those BMW sedan...I had it as my first car...it was obviously used and had around 200 000km on the counter; but it had the M3 body kit and man, it sounded great 👍...the only drawback was that the check engine light and oil leaked problems became frequent..so after like 6 months or so, I had to sell it...I had a nice little profit too; since the car had a good bunch of enthusiasts...
Still enjoy watching this viral. Great job as usual Christian.

The 335i is the best of the list! I am a little biased too since I have a 3 series, but it is an engaging car to drive! I do my own work so I am ok with the risk 😄
I went to test drive a couple of 335is but all of them had some problems so i bought a slammed e90 330i with the n52 engine and it pulls nearly the same
If you take the time to listen to guys in RUclips that have a solid experience with BMWs like Justin Buice, they will always recommend to stay away from turbocharged BMWs. I got a friend with a 335i and it’s not for some inexperienced owner who doesn’t do diy mechanic work.
Clippers Suck I’m going to mention the following BMW 3 series models because they’re the ones I keep up with: Most E46 3 series that are well-kept. E46 M3 that’s well-kept. E90 325i, 328i and 330i. E92/E93 328i. I heard the F30/F32 340i/440i are okay because of the B58 engine.
@@ShooterGaming1337 whats the difference between the 335is and the E90 330i (which I have too)
What risk is that?? Because I have an 06 330i and can't always do my own work because in the midwest it's less than 30 degrees perpetually SO I MUST PAY MECHANICS TO DO WORK ON MY BMW which is standing with 172K miles
Great video! Keep up the good content 👍🏽
Eyyyy, thanks for the shoutout man! I’m glad to have my tsxy featured on your channel haha

I own a 16 Jetta. They put the sport suspension and the flat bottom steering wheel in the my car. The traction control system works great. Except for fish tails. I had the car up to 160 on the highway once. And it just kept want to give more. I think a great balance between practicality and performance is a must. Nothing get the heart racing like spirited drive with the kids and wife going to food shopping lol. Great video by the way.
Nice vid bro
Great list! I’ve had 2 BMWs and I can vouch for the “fun to drive” aspect. Once I learned how to fix most things myself, do my own brakes/rotors, change oil and filters etc., the cost to own became reasonable. For example on my 2004 5-Series, ordered a set of front and back drilled/slotted rotors, complete ceramic pad set and wear sensors for about $450. Compare that to dealership pricing!
Why not give us the dealership pricing then we can compare.
Leon Henry It varies but front pads and rotors will run between $900 and $1000 at the bmw dealership. Rear pads and rotors $800 to $900. Cheaper at an Indy shop but still much more than DIY. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to do it yourself!
Leon Henry got you there buddy 😂

The Mazda 6 MPS (or Mazdaspeed 6 in USA) is so underrated that you forgot about it.
@David Maine In my country (Bulgaria) there are 4 stock MPS 6s for under 5k. In my city there is one wonderful example for 4.5k. it has 310hp at the wheels. It has a short shifter, custom ceramic twin plate clutch, 320mm drilled brake discs with EBC yellowstuff brake pads, aftermarket fuel pump, HKS blow off valve, cold air intake, oil cooler, some mods to the suspension which make it better in the corners and some other stuff done to it. I test drove the car, it was wonderful, tight, responsive and very quick. I have been sceptical about the qualities of the Mazda when compared to WRX/STI and Evos, but the scepticism died after 30 seconds of me behind the wheel of it. I'll have enough money to buy it in around 2 months and I hope that the car won't be sold until then. I originally wanted an Evo or STI, but now the Mazda is probably my favorite. The Evos and STIs here cost 3 times more than the Mazda.

I agree with the BMW 3 series. I would for sure try to find an autobahn of the GLI’s so you can get HID’s. The 2016’s come with apple car play, HID’s and back up cameras. If I hadn’t gotten a MK7 GTI I would actually be driving a 3 series BMW today.

NerfTheForce Depends on the year but yes, bmws in America lose value faster than almost any other brand
Bro ur in sweden get a volvoooo
NerfTheForce oh yes, but bmws here are often trashed on here and with bmws containing so many plastic motor parts like the intake or valve cover etc. they crack under extreme heat or cold so theyre also wallet breakers is why they’re so cheap here
NerfTheForce Norwegian and here it's okay finding 325i to that price easily at least, not that you should buy them, 50.000 kroner buy in and then just as much for a few years maintenance if you are lucky that is...
In Finland BMW's also cost a lot compared to "normal brands" like opel, Volkswagen, toyota... And they cost too much even when used. All the E46 cars with reasonable milage cost the same or even more than similar E9X with 2.0 engines

As a self proclaimed BEAMER Boy myself who has owned a 740iL, 535i, and 325i over the years. I can vouch that it’s a much smarter idea to buy a 325i, 328i, or 330i used than it is to buy a 5k 335i. The turbo will likely give you an extra 5k repair cost alone. The BMW 3 series without a turbo is the most affordable daily driver in the line up. The 335i is much more expensive to maintain.
