Good luck finding a 04-06 GTO at that price. I’ve looked all around and they’re bringing in 20k+ now. It’s all gone bat shit crazy. Needless to say I’m out .
I’ve looked at two GTOs one was $21000 usd and the other one was $23000 usd. The biggest mistake I did was not buying one about 5 years ago for $12000 when no one wanted them. I do plan on holding on to my G8.
I had the chance at an '05 GTO 6-speed for $16k with about 65k miles about ~10 years or so. But it was actually pretty underwhelming. Very crappy interior and I found out that they are a huge PITA for certain parts because unlike as the video states the parts are not easy to get. Them things are old now and most parts come out of Australia where there were far more Holdens sold than Pontiacs. I ended up years later with a C5 Z06, but GM quality is really questionable. Motors can be good depending which one it is, but that Z06 was the most unreliable car I've owned and it had 29k miles on it when I bought it, looked pristine. Sold it because I didn't want to pour any more money replacing things on it (rear main seal, rear transaxle seals, EBCM module, HVAC blew cold on driver hot on passenger sometimes, speedo gauge would peg at 200 mph when changing battery and get stuck there). Personally, I don't even think CTS-V's are nice anymore. I used to want one a long time ago, but have no respect for Cadillac at all anymore.
@@Shintsu2 it’s pretty hit and miss with GM it’s been that way a long time. Have had duds and very reliable cars from them. Nowadays, however, that seems to be a trend of all manufacturers. My 2009 G8 (bought new) has been a good car the only issues I’ve had with it is the headliner needs replacing and the drivers’ side seat trim keeps breaking. Mine has the options with the trim level and nothing more. It’s pretty base so may help with issues, but who knows.
i havent watched this channel in at least a year because of how "cheezy" this guy was, this video is much better , remember gimmicks dont last, just give us good content, without all the filler and we will watch.
Ya - the content is questionable too though - a BMW 6 series and mercedes S class shouldnt be on this list either. You don't need 10 items to make a video.

Agreed on the G35/37, C5 and Genesis being quick cars available for drivers on a budget. Good luck finding the others in decent condition for the prices listed.

Excellent video.... In 2016 I purchased a 2012 Genesis R-Spec 5.0 Sedan with 429hp. I stole it for $12,500. I drove it till Feb. 2021 and sold it with 180K miles for $6,900. I then purchased a 2013 Genesis R-Spec 5.0 single owner 48k miles for $14,850..... Fast, fun, and reliable.... :)
I thought I would see a Audi on this list but I'd still settle for the 2jz BM, or the Gto Godzilla if I had to pick from the list... And the Genesis is not bad either
A lot of people don't know that some early Charger RT's and Chrysler 300C's came with AWD and the 5.7L HEMI. Tons of fun for around 8 grand. Lots of problems though...its a Chrysler
@@scootypuffjr. Dodge/Chrysler have been a sad brand for many decades now. Their glory days were the '70s and it's been downhill for them ever since. Don't forget in the late '80s and into the '90s there was Diamler Star Motors, partnered with Mitsubishi back when all those lovely Eclipses were having crank walk and blowing up. Then they moved to Fiat autogroup...fucking lol, from bad to worse. I forget what pharmaceutical-esqe brand owns them now, but their quality has always been abysmal.
@@Shintsu2 I had a Diamond Star Motors Eagle Talon Tsi AWD. It wasn't horrible and I got I cheap at least. Chrysler quality has been a running joke for years. Ok this video was surprisingly VERY well researched and non biased. Well done to the entire script and research team because you were very in touch with exactly what young car enthusiasts and potential buyers: Performance, Power, and a bit of class at a very affordable price. I really also appreciate how you gave credit to brands like Genesis, Infiniti, Acura, and Lexus that really did try very hard to stay competitive in the approx 2005-2013 to pretty limited success because their performance hits and wonders never found worthy successors or market share. (the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Infiniti G35/G37, Acura TL Type S, Lexus IS F all come to mind as lacking worthy heirs to their thrones).
Personal cheap horsepower favorites? ANY Honda Accord V6, Nissan 350Z/370Z, older 1999-2004 Ford Mustang New Edge's, C5 Corvettes, the Pontiac G8, Pontiac GTO, and Pontiac Firebird

Got my 2013 G37S almost 2 months ago, had almost all the optional features and like 73k miles, not manual but the paddle shifters and rear diff is sweet
I have to say I bought my genesis for 10k about 3 years ago with 80k on the dash and I have to say the horsepower I phenomenal! It’s luxurious and noticeably fast. I race a s550 and beat him by a car length every time because hyundai’s transmissions in those are very quick. One of the Best purchase I’ve ever made and pushing 150k on the dash it still drives like new!

Check the common problems they have, they’re potentially big and expensive.. almost got one myself until I found out the massive problems it had, most cars you gotta watch the motor and trans( in the post it said was perfect) so I’m thinking cool yea great cheap car, then I asked what work it needs done, complete all around suspension rebuild and needs new tires cause the tread gone so quick (cause of suspension. Cooling and valve train are common and serious issues. Potential to destroy the motor.... good luck
I’m fairly certain that the 300C didn’t come with 425hp. I believe the 300 SRT8 is the trim level that came out with that horsepower number. I could be wrong, though. If I am, please correct me. Have a great day and happy motoring.

I've owned both a 06 GTO and 06 Charger R/T (about 10 years ago) They were great value during the last fuel price spike + recession. In 2008 when fuel hit ~$4 a gallon people were practically giving away low mile V8s. I missed my GTO so much I just traded in my Jag XFR for a new Camaro SS.
Here in Australia the GTO a.k.a holden monaro HSV is a $60k plus car and keeps rising in value and thats only the price for the 2002-2004 model that only has the 5.7 LS1 250kw+, the 2005-2006 GTO has the LS2 300kw (that we sent to the U.S) and the cheapest 1 in Australia is 95 thousand Australian dollars- in U.S dollars I think thats 100k plus
One of my co-workers drives an LS swapped BMW that had orginally come with a V12. There was zero chance of ever resurrecting the original motor. Some internals were visibly hanging out the sides.💥💨 It sat in our shop for about a year. I think everyone has either machined or welded something on that car. Our painter laid down a fresh coat of epoxy and basecoat/clear coat on it. It's a *really nice* car now. Great guy that's always willing to help somebody else out. Cool to see him enjoy having the car he's always wanted. Good Karma too with it sitting out front as advertisement. We have gained quite a few new customers from the local Hot Rod and Motorcycle enthusiast community.
Acura tl (3g), in particular the type-s. $5k -$7k for a clean condition base model, $8-10k for type s. Intake /exhaust and a tune will get u well into the 300hp range on the type-s, with the 3.5 v6.
I had a 2006 mazda 3 2.3 grand touring with a manual 5 speed for 5k. 75k miles and ran perfect. Would dust scion tc's and even an auto brz once. 160hp 155tq but lightweight and great handling. Loved that car
Get you a Caprice PPV. Same car ‘13 and below. ‘14 and up are more like the Chevy SS. It’s the perfect sleeper! I came across a ‘14 at auction for a little over $8G’s and it only had 46 something thousand miles on it. No accidents, no damage. It’s also rare around here. I dropped it off for new tires and all of the guys came out of the shop wanting to see who was picking it up and wanting to know where I got it and if I want to sell it. 😂 Every single guy that I talk to about it asks me if I want to sell it. Now that I think about it, a friend told me “congratulations, you just bought yourself a dick magnet” when I got it. He was right. 😂 By the way….mine has a L77 in it in case you’re not familiar with them.
Nice list. The thing with the C5 vette is all the cheap and good deal ones are either automatic or are a 6 speed and have well over 200k miles/are super junky. I think your best pick on the list is the lx cars (5.7 hemi Charger/300). Why? A 300c hemi with 150k and in great condition can be had for 3800-5k if you keep your eyes open. With a converter, Eagle (09+) heads, and a cam, you have a mid 12 second car for 7,500-8,500. The NAG1 can handle that power level relatively easily, and you're only a 100 shot away from 11's, which is good enough to beat every car in this video and still be at the same price or cheaper. I would say go LS with the goat or an F-body, but those cars are at least double the price that they were 5 years ago now and not really a bargain anymore.
I have a bargain 1989 Mustang GT Silver with blue racing stripes I paid 1000$ Yesss 1000$ bucks for Clean!!!!! Had it for almost 4 years still Loving it!!!! And it's Manual Scooooooooore!!!!!!!!!!!!
My brother had a 400 hp GTO with an expensive performance suspension that he added on. It was nice and fast, but he got rid of it when the rear end was going out and there were no new replacement parts for it. So he didn't want to hassle with the Pontiac since they when out of business April 2009.
You guys should really start talking about the CLK or E55 n/a AMG. Those cars are bulletproof I'm talking great reliability. I have one with over 150k miles and I've seen them in the 300s. They are soooo underrated and no one talks about them so it's pretty easy to find them around $5-7k which is pretty good when you get 340hp and 380tq

Pontiac GTOs in the US: $9,000* HSV GTOs in Australia: $100,000* despite the seating and superficial differences, the same car :) just different market
GM: "Pontiac is no more" Americans: "oh well." GM: "Holden isn't making any more Commodores of their own, but the brand will still exist and will still sell new Commodores" Australians: "OMG! Honey, put the SS up for sale at triple the price we were about to sell it for! Holden is dead!"
Good video, but the Chrysler 300c came standard with the 5.7 HEMI with 350 hp, just like the charger RT mentioned earlier in the video. And happens to typically be around the same price. And is the same platform as the charger too. Then theres the 300c SRT8, with 425hp. Good luck finding one in good shape for less than 16-18k. Same goes for the charger SRT8. However you can sometimes find higher mileage ones for closer to 10k and sometimes less depending on condition. Not to mention, many people believe the 6.1 HEMI was underrated, and actually may have made closer to 450hp, and typically exceed their rated 0-60 of 4.8 seconds, and can be seen going as quick as 4.4 seconds stock, the same as a scat pack with the 392 HEMI. The earlier gen 300s, chargers, challengers, etc also weighed about 300-400 pounds less than the newer generations.
@@charleshammond8945 you can easily find commodores in Australia for under 10k but they are the v6 variants, you I’ll only find a v8 commodore under 10k if it’s truely beat up or doesn’t run, the Monaro cv8 are around 60k or more nowadays, as I bought my v8 commodore wagon for around 15k.
The average Monaro price here currently is between $50,000 and $125,000. You can find cheaper like a V6 one, but no one wants those unless they have a spare LS1 sitting around to swap in so they can go on and resell it for triple what they bought it for. HSV GTO's here average for about $150,000. In 2010, used 2006 V8 Monaro's were being sold for $38,000. Talk about a price climb. One is for sale currently for $550,000.
I got a pretty clean GTO on market place for 5k plus about 2500 in pokemon card trade. I had to put a new engine in it due to a spun rod bearing...(knew it going into it---sorta) But, Its now cammed with a BTR stage 3, a rebuilt 5.3 instead of the 6.0 (much cheaper), plus many other aftermarket goodies (I need more). I've put about 5-7K back into it. Market place is where's its at, it is my new car dealer. I got my 1996 dodge work van with under 100k miles off there for $2200, its been a blessing to say the least. This guy is spot on with these deals! I love my GTO. However, I wish I would have known more about the car before getting it. Plan on being a part time mechanic, but its fun to learn and this car has taught me more about cars than I ever knew before. Once you got one you like, you're in love and there's no going back lol (make sure the title is signed over properly if you buy from market place or, someone random. With my GTO , the dude I bought it from never registered it too his name. long story short, the guy before him technically still owned it... I had to contact him and go through a litany of hoops "a lost title case"----it was a nightmare, and cost about $500 at the end of the day.) Don't be a dumbass like me.

Love to see lists like this that make getting into high speed fun easy for everyone. Enjoy laying rubber and making passes everyone, there's really nothing better!
some things to note about the 335i cars. I have the 335i e92 and you can make a LOT more than 400HP. The N54 is a 3l I6 twin turbo that needs a few bits and pieces mine is pushing 500rwhp on 98 octane and will do 0-100kmph / 0-60 in 3.3 secs. however don't get one... it is so so damn expensive. you WILL need to replace your injectors with the latest index 12s. new they are about $700 from BMW and you need 6. you WILL need to fix or replace the turbos. they are trash... The charge pipe will need to be replaced with a metal one as they break and cause a boost leak. water pump is made of plastic and dies and metal replacements tend to kill the engine somehow. you have to use special coolant (blue). The high pressure fuel pump WILL die. Not might... WILL die.. so get ready for that. the oil filter housing will leak and when it does it'll do it directly onto your belt. that's always fun for the whole family. oh and electrical gremlins are rampant in them, just ask an owner about the LCM. oh and there is no dipstick its all on the computer in the car. so if it dies you are blind to your car health. however. I love it, its a lot of fun really quick and looks great. If you are a car person and you are willing to do it all your self or shoulder the cost then id recommend them. They are probably the highest performance per dollar car on this list. Just get a intake kit, JB4, down pipes and away you go.
Lot of BMW and other luxury cars on this list. If you want something cheaper than 10k and much cheaper to mod up to 600hp check out the 05 to 07 Saturn ion redline or less preferably a OG cobalt SS but the redline looks much better and is a lot more rare yet only 5k max. Only 5800 made. Supercharged from the factory, recaro seats, read suicide doors, battery already in the trunk and it was built and intended to be modified and easily handles 500 to 600hp on the stock bottom block
As a former Chrysler/Dodge/etc tech.. I strongly recommend not getting anything SRT badged with the 6.1 in it. Unreliable out the a$$. Stick to 5.7 in R/T trims or spring for the 6.4's, whether it be Scat Pack, T/A or SRT. Far fewer issues, and they were far less often in shop for repairs rather than just routine maintenance. Personally owned a 5.7 R/T Challenger, beat it like a Back Page hook up and only did the standard maintenance on it, not only did I never have a single issue out of the car, it loved it.. so did I

I've driven 7 of these, and I am 100% with you on the mid-2000s Infiniti G35. My mom had the '04X because we live in the North. But let's just turn the traction control off and be sideways for a bit, eh?. HAHA! But ya know? Crashing Mom's Infiniti is a good way to be orphaned. So I mostly drove it with empathy and safely. It is, hands down, the most competent car I've ever driven in the snow. Still! I was passing trucks trucks in the ditch every winter. I think the Front Mid-ship Tech helped a lot. Sedan was 50-50 and the coupe 50-49. But Once a line or model loses the manual transmission, I lose interested. I die a slow death with the 5,6, and 7 speed. Life used to be better.
A good alternative for a corvette is the 4th gen late 90s camaro and trans am. With the lt1 from 93-97 and the ls1 from 98-02. They are way cheaper than the corvette and have almost identical numbers.

CLARIFICATION ABOUT THE CHRYSLER 300C: I love my Chrysler 300C, i picked it up about a year and a half ago for $9k out the door. I do feel the need to clarify: The 300C comes with a 5.7L HEMI, the 300C SRT8 comes with the 6.1L SRT motor. The SRT8s have the 6.1 rather than the 5.7L, different front and rear bumper covers, all color matched along with the mirrors and door handles (no chrome), and a couple other differences depending on the year (2009+ SRT8 models had the 3.06 Getrag limited slip differential and some other improvements over pre 09' SRT8 models). The 300C came out in "2005" (first rolled off the assembly lines in 04') with a 5.7L motor rated for 350HP at the crank. in 2006 the SRT8 was introduced alongside the 6th gen charger SRT8, the first generation of the SRT chargers and made 425HP at the crank! the 6.1 motor has improved flow numbers, cooling, revs out higher, has a forged crank, and is a completely different motor than found in the average 300C. (This applies to 2005-2010 models of the 300C/300S, for the 2nd generations of the 300s the SRT8s had the 6.4L 392Ci HEMI motor) (However, i do make videos on the Chrysler 300C & HEMI platform and can help you make those power numbers you're seeking in a HEMI or more! Not just the 345/5.7L, but the 370/6.1L and 392/6.4L as well!)
The only quibble I have with some of the choices, especially the LX cars is the ZF transmission in the later cars was only available with the V6 initially, so you had to make do with the 6 speed auto in the SRT-8's for example and other Hemi cars. You WANT the 8 speed ZF! Making the 2015 cars mandatory and you'll go over your 10K budget but at least you'll get the better transmission and higher output base Hemi (425).
Yeah I have 3 bmw’s with the getrag, zf-6 and zf-8. And the 8 speed is far superior. With a transmission tune the zf-6 can be made a lot better but it still won’t beat the 8.
The 06-10 gen had the NAG1 (W580A, i think) which was a 5 speed auto, but is a really sturdy and capable transmission. Also the 6.1 HEMI was available from 06-10 and had 425hp. The 5.7 made 350hp from 06-08, and 370hp from 09-present. The 392/6.4 HEMI came out in 2011 with 475hp.
If you wanna get a little dirty and fix the timing. Audi S4's (The B6 model) can come really cheap with nothing wrong and just need its timing done. The 4.2L V8 can be snatched up at 2g's! or 10k with the timing fixed and perfect.
@@firstlast7584 I’m talking e60 m8. The F Body went with n55 single turbo. E60 had n54 twin turbo straight six and is a really beautiful design even almost 15 years later
Driving any Charger/300 is pretty much like driving brick....🤣! So far the only one I have drove that doesn't fewl that way is the Euro Spec 300 full of extra Mercedes Benz parts.
I had a 335i with a remap that dyno'ed 431hp, would easily beat every car on this list. Got rid of it for an LS2 engined Monaro which was very nearly as quick and now own a 635d, remapped to 350hp. The Monaro was the most fun of all of them, drifts super easy and sounds amazing but didnt feel nearly as fast as the 335. 635d defo my favourite though, loads of torque, very comfy, still handles ok and looks a lot more expensive than it is. Also, the 335 was the most unreliable car ive owned, by far

I really also appreciate how you gave credit to brands like Genesis, Infiniti, Acura, and Lexus that really did try very hard to stay competitive in the approx 2005-2013 to pretty limited success because their performance hits and wonders never found worthy successors or market share.

The earlier gen 300s, chargers, challengers, etc also weighed about 300-400 pounds less than the newer generations.

however don't get one... it is so so damn expensive. you WILL need to replace your injectors with the latest index 12s. new they are about $700 from BMW and you need 6.
you WILL need to fix or replace the turbos. they are trash...

I love it, its a lot of fun really quick and looks great. If you are a car person and you are willing to do it all your self or shoulder the cost then id recommend them. They are probably the highest performance per dollar car on this list. Just get a intake kit, JB4, down pipes and away you go.
I would get the Pontiac GTO because well my first car was a pontiac and it was reliable as heck
Facts same. I had the 96' grand prix
Just be careful they tend to spin a rod due to the design of the oil pan. I’d get corvette oil pan for better lubrication!
Omg im in love with the muffled deleted genesis sedan
Y'all r gonna make me buy the perfect car and u guy's content is great!
@@billybuchanan385 sure dude thx btw😀
As a former Chrysler/Dodge/etc tech.. I strongly recommend not getting anything SRT badged with the 6.1 in it. Unreliable out the a$$. Stick to 5.7 in R/T trims or spring for the 6.4's, whether it be Scat Pack, T/A or SRT. Far fewer issues, and they were far less often in shop for repairs rather than just routine maintenance. Personally owned a 5.7 R/T Challenger, beat it like a Back Page hook up and only did the standard maintenance on it, not only did I never have a single issue out of the car, it loved it.. so did I
hey brad, i am an big fan of your channel but i was wondering, could you do a video on how to buy used car when the owner is still making payments on it :-) hope you see this question- have a good day
I've driven 7 of these, and I am 100% with you on the mid-2000s Infiniti G35.
AWOOOO Ideal Cars just gave me a belly rub, this list was flat-out sexy and most of them are sedans 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Thank You.
A good alternative for a corvette is the 4th gen late 90s camaro and trans am. With the lt1 from 93-97 and the ls1 from 98-02. They are way cheaper than the corvette and have almost identical numbers.
love these guys, they allways have your back
I bought the 2010 G37 sedan. I love it for what it is.
Anything over 10 years old is likely to start having lots of things failing. Cheap hp isn't worth much when it's up on blocks in your garage.
Not really man. I bought my 2011 Crown Victoria last year. It's like a brand new car. It really depends on the car and the owner. I wouldn't recommend any of these cars especially not used German cars.
@@blessedjuggernaut I had 2 police interceptors. Got it from a local county police auction. All lasted me years. Great cars easy to fix and parts galore
The 300C doesn’t have 425hp only the SRT-8 model does.
You telling everybody is going to drive the prices back up. Thanks.
this guy just wants content to push xD
How come they didn't mention the absolutly timeless styling and beauty of the 370hp 2003 Jaguar XJR? I just saw one at a shop in my neighborhood with 89k miles for $5000. And Greenville, SC is one of the most expensive locals in the country to buy a vehicle for some reason.
Great video as always! I want to love most of these cars, but I just keep thinking about how much money you'll have to put into them...aside from the Pontiac maybe. 🤦♂️
Maintenance maintenance maintenance. All these cars are nightmares. Every one of em
Do you have any better options
@@xxsilver_gamingxx389 it’s tough, most fun cars are gonna be high maintenance at some point. High displacement engines and forced induction engines always endure a lot of wear and tear and require a lot of work. That being said I do like some some of em
300C all day. For the simple fact incognito and easy to source parts.
Definitely Would Get The GTO 🥺 I should start saving
That 300 was like driving a space ship when it first came out.
Luv the HEMI. I'm going with a comfortable 300C SRT, 06'-08'.
finding a pontiac in good conditon? priceless.
Look harder....I've had several Pontiacs. All great cars.
If you wanna get a little dirty and fix the timing. Audi S4's (The B6 model) can come really cheap with nothing wrong and just need its timing done. The 4.2L V8 can be snatched up at 2g's! or 10k with the timing fixed and perfect.
Please, change the title to "Cheap Land Boats With a TON of Horsepower" :).
German 2jz fs. Supra is my all time favorite car and bmw’s are just so clean
Along with the bmw 335 there is also the 535i with the same n54 and looks even better
F body 5 series were ugly
@@firstlast7584 I’m talking e60 m8. The F Body went with n55 single turbo. E60 had n54 twin turbo straight six and is a really beautiful design even almost 15 years later
@@thenicknetwork1400 i had one and i still love it! Don't care about the headache it gave to me but is kind of sweetness drive it
Can you do an updated list with all this inflation? Lol
The chrysler 300 feels like driving a brick, and interior feels like a cave but good engine
The listing he showed was also for a 5.7 Hemi 300C, not an SRT... So expect to pay more.
If someone is selling a gto for 8k its probably pure crap.
the ones i found were well over 13k... found a 04 with 44k miles.. was 18K twice his claim....lol
@@thomasstott527 yeah , if anything, they are over priced. Lots of these youtube channels just regurgitate all data from the internet.
I’d like to add my sleeper dad-mobile, clearing over 400hp AWD with a simple tune, and only paid $9k for it.
The 2010 Ford Flex Ecoboost.
