I really have to do this at some point. My eject button has been broken for over a decade at this point and only works if I wiggle it, so maybe I could fix that as well at some point in the future.

I got my Wii apart following your directions. Worked very well to do that. I discovered in the process that my Wii has bigger problems than just dust. Turns out that the motherboard is fried too. It was still educational to take it apart and see what all is inside.

I used this to take apart the old family wii from a decade ago and clean it out. It was sitting in the attic for a long time and it was full of dust. When I finally plugged it in, I realized the controller was busted and all the old disks as well. I can't believe mario still goes for $60.,,
@@izakomandaz2895 you can mod to run emulators of a sd or usb. You can also backup games. its easy give it the old youtube search and youll find lots of tutorials. I modded a wii i found on the trash and gave a second life

I opened up my never opened wii, and found a popcorn kernal inside the front face in a spot impossible to get there. It looks like its from 2006. Someone at nintendo's manufactoring plant must have been eating pop corn on the job.

I got to the stage where you took out the 4 screws that held down some plastic and aluminium. Unfortunately the 2 right screws were not turning at all and ended become unthreaded. So I pose a question; What do you do when screws particularly small fiddly ones become thread bare? is there anyway to get them out still or are the destined to remain where they are for eternity?
Those last 2 screws you take out before you take the cover off. For me they just keep spinning and not coming out. Any ideas on how to fix that or go about handling it?

My Wii had terrible stripped screws. The rubber method, super glue, or the stripped screw remover tools/methods didn't work. It's stuck. Appreciate the guide.
super confused mine didn't have a piece of metal under the black plastic at 4:30, maybe it was a mistake or some models tried to cut some of the costs? Also missing this piece at 5:40. Theres no signs this wii has ever been opened up, unless the last person was extremely careful with the rubber pieces.

But it was NASTY dirty, and wanted to open it up and clean the inside as there may have been.. critters.. as I found a bug's leg on the outer casing (disgusting, i know). So before I even put more money into getting the appropriate cables.. wanted to take a look and clean it.. not sure if my order of operations makes sense. anyway, this is definitely going to be a job with all these screws but nonetheless, good practice anyway :) thank you for this

The Wii's internal clock battery is a CR 2032 for those that want to know or replace it.

I have to disassemble my wii cause I got something stuck inside the disc drive. My wii is old and will probable be dusty inside.

I just got wii on ebay for $15 just opened it and a gc disc inside. They said disc drive wasn't working. A washer fell out and idk where it went
