- Muslim RUclips channels such as @TheMuslimParadigm and@TheBobbysPerspective propagated lies regarding a Quran Arabic linguist professor Marijn van Putten getting $2 Million to find mistakes in the Quran.
They claim his research has already been concluded (when it finishes in 4 years time) and then tried to spin the narrative to explain why he didn't become a Muslim after confirming the Quran is "perfectly preserved".
Marijn van Putten then takes to Twitter to set the record straight...

Western scholars unanimously agree that Dhul Qarnayn is the legendary Alexander of Christian lore. Not the other way around.
Most Muslim scholars denied that he is Dhul Qarnayn due to conclusion that he is a polytheist of the traditional Greek mythology.
Today many muslims deny Dhu l-Qarnayn is Alexander, but in the medieval tradition the identification is not at all uncommon. Many tafsirs and early traditions transmit this in quite a lot of detail. Detailing "He was a Roman", "His name was Alexander", "He buitl Alexandria in Egypt". These opinions can be found in Tabari, Qurtubi, Ibn Kathir (who strongly denies this opinion), al-Baghawi, Ibn al-Jawzi.

There always has and still is, for example how British English uses "armour" instead of "armor", or "colour" instead of "color". The dialectical spelling of jail, "gaol", has also been around for a long time.
Go back to Middle English, and the differences in dialects become very clear in spelling. It even goes as far into their declension and grammatical structure, and despite both speaking English, southern and northern middle English variate in as far as using -es vs -en suffixes. You can't possibly say those are the same. English was only standardized in the renaissance, so any time during and before that has had a considerable degree of separate spelling for the same words. For example, Old English would spell dog both as "dogga" and "dogca". Middle English would spell frog as "vrogge", "frugge", or "frogge". For Old English, sometimes they didn't even write in the Latin script, but in a variation of Futhorc. By Middle English, they would use the Latin script, however even into the 1800s we would be spelling with letters like Þ ("Thorn") and ſ ("Long S", infact it's used in the Declaration of Independence) that don't exist today.
I do not believe in Islam, nor do I ever wish to defend it, and the Quranic "dialects" are very clearly different to such a degree that it does influence the actual meaning of the surahs; However, from a linguistics understanding and anthropologist understanding, variation in spelling does occur and dialects do alterate from eachother.

To recapitulate: 6th century Christian Arabic speakers do *not* call their God Aḷḷāh, but al-ʾilāh.
Pagan Arabic speakers around 1st c. BCE-1st c. CE know a minor deity in their pantheon named Aḷḷāh, and it is unclear if they equated him to the Jewish God.

Said that the Torah and Gospel came from him despite the Quran contradicting both. Thinking the trinity contains Mary. Thinking the Jews worship Ezra. Naming the Virgin Mary's brother and father and getting Moses brother and father, meaning he either didn't know who her parents were or thought that Miryam the sister of Moses was the same as the Virgin Mary, despite them living nearly 1500 years apart from each other. He also claims at times that no one can intercede on behalf of the dead at judgement and at other times he says people can. He also says that people who don't believe are damned for rejecting him, but also that he guides whoever he wants, meaning that he chose that they wouldn't.
And since I saw you arguing the preservation of the Quran in another comment, there are multiple Arabic variants. MUSLIM scholars know this, and you can find mountains of evidence. And even I'm the false perfect preservation narrative, you would have to ignore that Uthman was burning variants. Perfect preservation is a fairytale for insecure fools, as even if the Quran hadn't changed, that would prove nothing.

The chains cannot really be independently verified (nor can any chain back to the prophet for any of the canonical readers). Hythem Sidky presented a nice paper on the topic at IQSA last year, comparing what is reported for Hafs against what is reported for al-Sulami. Didn't inspire a lot of confidence that he's significantly transmitting data from al-Sulami. But Dr. Sidky hasn't published the paper yet
