@@JiraiyaSama86 I have a child who is LGBTQ and I never beat my child. I spanked until age 5. This child inferred a similar concern that I would "explode" when I found out. They have friends who are also same LGBTQ and we were living in TX. I think talking amongst themselves they all had the same concerns. Some of them DID have parents who reacted physically but these were parents who had done so on other matters. I took in more than one friend who was kicked out bc that's usually my kind of reaction. Parents are going to react similar to this as they would for other infractions viewed in a similar vein. I would have been very very upset if I found out they were drinking and driving. My biggest criticism was dating before 16 years old regardless of which gender you like. That was a rule in my family. No drinking and no dating before 16 years old. But I think as a group everyone starts to think all parents react the same which can be a little unfair to parents who are trying to be fair and good parents
@@JiraiyaSama86 I agree. But the concern that I think we both see is that teachers are being put in the role of "the state" and we should be careful about how much we want "the state" to take over matters. "The state" giving a minimum income, giving free education, controlling education and economy... being a "nanny" and treating "everybody equally" Except that every family and situation is a little different. I wouldn't want a committee deciding what food my family gets or what kind of housing I get. I like that I can decide to earn more or work less and live wherever I want. I realized the phrase "it's better to give than receive" is very true. Bc the person who "gives" decides how much and to whom they will give. The recipient takes what they are given. There's no real control when you "receive". These kids go from school which is run like a socialistic society to college and they expect the faculty to behave like they're still in grade school. They don't understand and it's the privileged kids who learn last. I made my son get a job at McDonald's when he was 16. He was excited to earn his own Money. They told him not to lean on the counters. He said he couldn't stand for long without leaning (thinking he'd be accommodated like at school) So they sent him home and said he couldn't work again without a Dr note. I told him to go apologize to his manager bc we were NOT going to the Dr for a note he didn't need! A capitalistic job taught him a good lesson and now he works outside at uhaul in the hot sun without complaining! I worry that these privileged kids are our "future"
The only hate that's pervasive and ubiquitous in the US today is anti-White hate. That's the only hate that bares no consequences, but if you merely state that a certain group has disproportional power you're cancelled on the spot, yet their CNN and their CNBC and their NYT can spout the worst type of anti-White bigotry every day. If you don't hate those who want to harm your people, you don't know what love is.
Agreed. I can understand if they refer to it for bullet points so they don't forget something, but a LOT of them literally read from the phone the whole time they're speaking. Sad state of students these days.
I think its fine. Its hard, for some, to fully hit every point they want to in their question without any hums or ahs all while standing up in front of a few hundred people with a spotlight right on you.
I couldn't even follow the train if thought of the young man, second in row, after the young man who asked about Ben opinion on Kanye's antisemitism comments. I need to listen to him again, slow down the speed of the clip and take notes. Respect to Ben as usual, for his brilliant mind, intelligence, socially and analytically and frankness and friendlyness. I can feel peace in his heart, even while totally disagreeing with someone.
Regarding term limits, I think a far better and effective policy would be that if you choose to run for a higher office, you must resign your current office. The idea that a politician can take one year to 18 months to run for president while pretending to still do the job as a congressman is ludicrous, and if they can then the job description of congressman is woefully light.
Ben clearly has a quick mind, and an equally quick way of expressing his thoughts! He is honest in his purpose and ways. Other than his core Jewish beliefs, I can't dispute the ideals he professes and shares, without much study myself. To add some subtle humor: Does anyone like Coffee?
I see a lot of comments complaining about the students with phones. Obviously those commentators have massive, massive balls and have never experienced nervousness getting in front of a huge crowd of people, spotlight shining on them, cameras turned to them, and be able to confidently ask a well-structured question (maybe even with multiple segments within it) to ask to someone that they either dislike greatly or are hugely starstruck by. Sad that those commentators are not capable of putting themselves in a young person's shoes to see the very obvious reason why they are using their phones to take note of their questions.
This is good, but even better would be if more of the students could ask questions without reading them off cell phones. We used to do that in college lecture Q & A before the internet existed. 🙂 Also, being prepared enough to do a little intelligent back and forth might be nice as well.
As someone who has social anxiety, I can see why some people would use their phone. When everyone turns to look at you, you've got a spotlight on you, and there's a camera in your face- sometimes the brain just blanks on the question you really wanted to ask.
The problem is what they are teaching in university. I am surprised by the questions that are obvious. I am older, but knew these answers at a younger age. It tells me that the younger adults are not receiving an education. It seems to be a lop sided ideology. They need to think for themselves and feel free to ask without fear. I believe some introduction to a faith based education is important.
I admire how Ben handles questions regarding Christianity, the Jewish faith, and the vitally important role religion should play in the everyday life of the nuclear family.
I study child abuse cases and from what I have seen a parent, parents or step parents that are abusive are abusive because they are abusive. I haven’t really run into a case where a child was being abused for being gay and otherwise the parent child relationship would’ve been fine. I’ve seen it where psycho horrible parents accused young young kids of being gay when the kids were like 5 years old and not old enough to have a sexuality. That was a weird attempt to try and excuse teachers being inappropriate and keeping the parents shut out.
Half of society puts pressure on the parents for raising their children to fit in with their biological gender roles! Father teaches boy to be a man because thats how the world will see him! Mother raises the girl to be a respectable proper lady! If your children grow up to be social deviants and disrespectful POS THEN thats on you!
Good to watch and how polite the audience is VS Berkely or somewhere ! - even those with “woke” leaning questions- just forwarded this to our friend whose son is starting at A&M this fall, 2023.
No, soon you will see them come up the mic and just play a tiktok video of them asking the question. They really don't know how to interact with a person without hiding behind their phones.
I agree with @C Nault. I think its less about the phone being a security blanket and more the public speaking thing and people wanting to hit every point they want to hit when asking the question.
@@JobVanDam It could be either, or both. I know if I were asking Ben a question, I would absolutely have it memorized; BUT, I would pretend to read it off my phone, just so I didn't have to look at all those eyes looking at me 😱
@25:00 "In order for him to actually get forgiveness, he would have to seek it" - Ben Shapiro. And that right there, is the difference between Christianity and Judaism. God said "Go and forgive those that did you wrong." He didn't say "Wait till they come to you to forgive them." Why did Jesus come then?
What is disturbing about a lot of these videos, students can’t ask a question without their phones. You would think if they were that passionate about their own thoughts, they wouldn’t need it.
I’m sure it’s very nerve wracking to get up in front of a lot of people and ask a brilliant man a question. That is not easy. I give them a lot of credit.
There’s also probably similar genetic markers you can find it in common amongst serial killers and pedophiles. Being genetically predisposed to behave a certain way doesn’t mean that it’s not immoral or that society has to accept it.

Response at 21.10 by Shapiro is something that should be shared worldwide. He nails the percentages. .08% of the population to 21% of the population. It is a societal change, not a revelation change and a bottleneck. Ss a fact,It is trendy. One 5th of the population did not mysterious show up.
I have a question myself. Why do all of these students stand up there and read off of their phones if they’re really sincere about their heartfelt questions, they would not need to read it.
Because not everyone is a fantastic public speaker and there’s a time crunch here, Ben doesn’t have time to listen to students trying to structure a question off the top of their head when they could easily just look at their notes.
I know if I'd been asking a question, I would be PRETENDING to read it off my phone, just to avoid looking at all those eyes looking at me. I think this could by why some students do that.
What I like is that when a long-winded, multiple question is put forward, he never has to say, "What was your other question?" He remembers everything... even down to countering any snide remark snuck in by the questioner. What I don' like is that he talks fast an' my ol' ass can't keep up.
Shapiro said what West said was anti-Semitic and that Owens is his (Shapiro's) friend. Owens said that anyone who said that what West said was anti-Semitic is not "an honest person". So, either Shapiro is not "honest" or Shapiro has a "friend", Owens, who says he's not "honest" .
The right is now doing exactly what the left has been doing to them. Anyone mentions Jewish people and it’s automatic “ANTISEMITE!”. Just like the left everyone is a “RACIST!”. I’m honestly sick of it. People can have differing opinions without being antisemitic or racist.
I know why I would -- I wouldn't want to look at all those eyes looking at me. So I would pretend to be reading off my phone, even though I would already know my question by heart.
Kanye West is simply NOT ANTISEMITIC. I watched the video clip of him talking about Jared kushner. if taken into context nothing he said was anti-Semitic. he's just pointing out the truth which happens to align with a Jewish stereotype. It's not Kanye West's fault that Jared kushner seems to do things out of greed. and at least Kanye West is willing to speak his mind even if it hurts his finances. something I can't say for Ben.
From what I believe, I just think he speaks before he thinks. Now of course I disagree with what Kanye said, but he did say that he was tired when he posted it.
The topic is 100% off limits both for the mainstream left and right. But Kanye introduced the topic to mainstream audiences, so perhaps it'll change. Doesn't seem like it though looking at how he was treated, and it doesn't help that he expressed himself quite poorly.
I’m disappointed to see young people unable to ask a simple question without reading it off their phones. Meanwhile, the speaker is able to respond with no phone, screen, or notes. The future of our country is bleak

That's something that tends to happen sometimes with some proposed solutions. It opens the door for tyranny. It's part of why S-ism seems to keep coming back. The people who want to help the unfortunate sometimes are fools that don't know what it is they're asking for. They're blind.
"The state" giving a minimum income, giving free education, controlling education and economy... being a "nanny" and treating "everybody equally"
Except that every family and situation is a little different.
He said he couldn't stand for long without leaning (thinking he'd be accommodated like at school)
So they sent him home and said he couldn't work again without a Dr note.
I told him to go apologize to his manager bc we were NOT going to the Dr for a note he didn't need!
A capitalistic job taught him a good lesson and now he works outside at uhaul in the hot sun without complaining!

There's nothing greater than the power of communication mixed with compassion. There's nothing more poisonous than hatred.
Hatred, bigotry, racism and all other adjectives of stupidity.

Love the kid in the pink shirt , just turns around and walks away. Fantastic !
Nice video. I just hate that 95% of the students read from their phones instead of articulating the questions or comments in their minds beforehand.
I know I'd be pretending to read my question off my phone -- just to avoid looking at all those eyes looking at me.

The idea that a politician can take one year to 18 months to run for president while pretending to still do the job as a congressman is ludicrous, and if they can then the job description of congressman is woefully light.
...Do you know if there are any other countries or states or municipalities that have such a rule?
Would it be possible to get a clip of the question and answer at 9:10? I would love to share it. Especially the part at 10:41.
It’s so obvious the students who have a real question opposed to the ones who are reading a question from their professor
Two of my favourite People Dr Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro
Ben clearly has a quick mind, and an equally quick way of expressing his thoughts! He is honest in his purpose and ways. Other than his core Jewish beliefs, I can't dispute the ideals he professes and shares, without much study myself. To add some subtle humor: Does anyone like Coffee?
Ben Shapiro gives his undivided attention- which is admirable.

Great questions
This was satisfying to watch 😂
The Daily Wire is an example of how Conservatives should disagree - civily. 👏
Ben calls it like it is!!
...which is why Michael Knowles still works there!😮 😂
This is good, but even better would be if more of the students could ask questions without reading them off cell phones. We used to do that in college lecture Q & A before the internet existed. 🙂
Also, being prepared enough to do a little intelligent back and forth might be nice as well.
As someone who has social anxiety, I can see why some people would use their phone. When everyone turns to look at you, you've got a spotlight on you, and there's a camera in your face- sometimes the brain just blanks on the question you really wanted to ask.
"I'm a Jew. Idk what else I can say about that" 😆
Best interview I have seen thus far.
I just voted straight red down the ballot today for early voting. Democrats have ruined things enough.
Same for here in Michigan
Same.
TRUTH! I switched parties.
Kids got lazy, they don't want to think anymore, they want to google everything.
Leftist single white mothers claiming their 5 year old boy is actually a girl qualifies as Munchausens by Proxy child abuse
Ah but some parent may think if their kids as vile
Half of society puts pressure on the parents for raising their children to fit in with their biological gender roles! Father teaches boy to be a man because thats how the world will see him! Mother raises the girl to be a respectable proper lady! If your children grow up to be social deviants and disrespectful POS THEN thats on you!

No, soon you will see them come up the mic and just play a tiktok video of them asking the question. They really don't know how to interact with a person without hiding behind their phones.
It takes them 2 hours to write the questions on their phone and Ben 10 seconds to crush them, no phone…
They aren't professional speakers like Shapiro. When I have to speak in public, I use notes.

I think its less about the phone being a security blanket and more the public speaking thing and people wanting to hit every point they want to hit when asking the question.

I am heartened by the large crowd.
I sincerely hope that at least some of them are skeptics that are curious to see what all the fuss is about.
What is disturbing about a lot of these videos, students can’t ask a question without their phones.

There’s also probably similar genetic markers you can find it in common amongst serial killers and pedophiles. Being genetically predisposed to behave a certain way doesn’t mean that it’s not immoral or that society has to accept it.

There should be a word for that, I agree. I'm a woman, and I think childish women are just as bad as childish men.
I think this could by why some students do that.
some probably took time to formulate deeper questions for Ben and use phone as a notepad to articulate it. technology is somethingggggggg
Just because they're reading it from their phone doesn't mean it's not sincere...
What I like is that when a long-winded, multiple question is put forward, he never has to say, "What was your other question?" He remembers everything... even down to countering any snide remark snuck in by the questioner. What I don' like is that he talks fast an' my ol' ass can't keep up.
Another thing... can any young people speak without reading off their phone?
Shapiro said what West said was anti-Semitic and that Owens is his (Shapiro's) friend. Owens said that anyone who said that what West said was anti-Semitic is not "an honest person". So, either Shapiro is not "honest" or Shapiro has a "friend", Owens, who says he's not "honest" .

Please give me the info to Tweet you read. I want to make sure my view is based correctly.
I concur. The moment you say anything critical of Zionist you’re shutdown immediately. He never said anything anti-Semitic.
Jews consider anything critical of a Jewish person to be antisemitic, while constantly villainizing white people as the root of all evil.
