      My grandmother is illiterate, she needs my help when she's introduced to a new prayer to read it for her so she can memorize it, she gave birth to 10 children and was a house wife her entire life, despite that she was filled with wisdom, both her children and her grandchildren consistently go to her for advice that more often than not produces better outcomes, traditional women's roles were taking care of the home but the primary role was to create and maintain a community of well adjusted people that do good for themselves and for others, without traditional women society falls apart, evident by what's happening in the west, go to a modern woman and ask what to do about women being attacked late at night in dark ally ways and you'll get a solution that will take decades to implement, cost millions and be ineffective at best, ask my grandmother the same question and she'll give you a solution that you can implement with profit.

    He seems liked he'd vote Democrat, but he was very respectful, smart & well-spoken kid.

      That was a good conversation. Actually I don’t think the answer was not quite adequate. To define feminism with the Steinem quote is controversial even among second wavers because it defines feminism IN TERMS OF MEN. Friedan would have said equality (however that is understood), and Greer would have said individual liberty. Essentially what he said was that a very extreme form of feminism was bad for women … well …
      Also, Schlafly would have been considered quite a success by Greer standard. Plus, when he said women were not educated or made knowledgeable by feminism … that’s kind of Friedan’s argument. Women already had the resources to contribute socially, but they were not given the chance.

      @@simfimpim Au contraire, I think we can learn a lot on who they are from those clips alone. First, you wanna behave properly in front of a camera, since that clip will remain on the internet forever basically. Consequently, sure you can say that the first girl is hiding some of her trouble if she has any, but the second one isn't hiding anything. Second, a graceful person accepts defeat with grace and not with convulsive grimaces, like a spoiled teen who doesn't get the newest i-Phone. Third, a well-educated person knows that her question doesn't make any sense and deserves mockery by Michael. Since she had nothing to say about the ideological divide, no insights in order to shrink it, all her question entails is basically: "I know you are to a trans activist as the Moon is to the Sun, but dividing the cultural debate in we/us and they/them to single out the problem is dangerous for their mental health, so forget the English language (as Michael correctly recognized her question does entail)". So to summarize and draw my conclusions, this person is miserable, angry, sad, ungraceful, spoiled and not well-educated.

    Birth control has shaken society to the core. Debating whether sexual promiscuity is ok or not was never an issue prior to birth control. We've broken the biological mechanism that counterbalances a woman having multiple sex partners over many years. Because of evolution and biology, women were not meant to have a prolonged period of sexual activity without committing to a partner because a child would very likely be the outcome of sex.

  • @joelt2002
    @joelt2002 Год назад +5

    I think that something conservatives need to hammer on is that people have a choice to how they act. It's a Stoic principle. You have few things you can control in your life, and how you react to them is within your power. You are not a slave to your desires. You are not defined by an impulse. You have free will. You are not a man stuck in a woman's body, or vis versa. You are choosing to feel that way and think that way. Behaviors form patterns. Some patterns are habits that are hard to break. We get into routines even if those routines may not be beneficial to us. While it might be hard to change that habit/behavior it is still within you to do so.
    I think you completely missed the point of the second girl. She was asking why you were "grouping" people into a us vs. them type discussion. Her argument was that it is tribal and removes the individuality of the people involved. I see this type of argument made often by the left. The principle I agree with. We are individuals. But in order to have a discussion about groups of people, generalizations (based on statistics) does have to happen.
    For the 3rd speaker the question is about nature. Where do people feel they are making a difference. Again stoic principle would help alleviate this guy's problems. A traditional woman/wife had her problems in front of her and in a localized sense. Her family, her house, her community. The reason why feminists make for miserable women (at least one of the reasons) is that the problem set is not manageable and is not local. There is always a cause and always a 'movement' that will never be satisfied. Mary has a little boy tommy who keeps hitting his sister versus Susan who thinks the field of Civil Engineering is sexist and holding all women back. Tommy can be disciplined and corrected, this far off problem is undefinable and quite literally outside of Susan's control. And even if some "achievement" was made on that front (which wouldn't be a real solution) she would be distressed by yet another intangible thing.
    Women by nature (in general, again we are all individuals with varying degrees of differences) are personal and nurturing. The feminist problem set will never satisfy that.
    The gun guy. Michael you probably should just let them finish the question and ask qualifiers after. You are just dragging out the Q&A by interrupting them. These are not professional public speakers so you need to cut them some slack. He was making a false equivalency, which you addressed. But you needed to let him know in clear English what he was doing. "What is not the same as the other. Apples and oranges."

    As a woman, feminism IS making women miserable. I have never met a happy, joy filled feminist. My mother was a feminist and just kinda hated men. She was and is a miserable person in general. I am a homemaker and love being so. Being home and being able to raise my son and enjoy this child has been so fulfilling. I also have a much larger understanding of what is going on in society than most women that are working, because I can do more research and educate myself. To think that women who stay home are uneducated just points to how dumb that concept is in general. We need to start speaking up more and getting our country back. Staying quiet as to not start confrontations needs to stop. We can't "live and let live" because they won't let us. Every fabric of our society is being shredded and it needs to stop.

    I feel bad for the kid from 20:00 to 24:00. He wasn't able to articulate his question, and so he was talked over by Knowles for the most part.
    I think if he just asked a question instead of trying to sound like a philosophy professor, things might have gone differently for him. Perhaps less mumbling would have helped as well.
    In addition, recognizing that Knowles isn't going to allow remarks and stated facts that aren't true, to go unchallenged, he could have just asked a question, waited for a response, and then rebutted.
