Thank you for making this video, Ben. I was about to purchase a Vincero, after watching a few reviews from some other "influencers". Glad you call out scammers like this. So in my limited research, I came upon the 96B131 from Bulova. What are your thoughts on these? I like the look of it, and the price is also within my range. If you can recommend a couple of alternatives would be much appreciated as well. Thank you for all your hard work.
Sorry you bought a rubish Fossil watch. My fossil is over 10 years old, bought on ebay for a fiver as the crystal was smashed, but on receipt I was blown away. Its a chrono, has a decent quartz movement, solid links as well as solid end links and a milled clasp. On seeing how beatiful it was i cleaned it up and bought a saphire crystal for it. Some manufacturers may originally bring out good watches and then cash in on their label, and some do it the other way round, who knows as I agreed with your review of that particular watch in any event. I love watches, but like most people I cant afford a 5k premium for a trumped up stainless steel brand. However i do appreciate good design and good value spec and the more people are made aware of the latter the better as most viewers are probably in my position or if not they're just kidding themselves . All the best buddy.
Your channel is so good in meta wrist watch videos, fantastic content. IMHO another key to identify these channels is that suddenly they all review the same watch..
I have a question for Ben, what are your thoughts on homage watches, are they worth it. Best homage watche brands so that I can look at them. Great video btw.
Hi Rohan. Anything with a Seiko NH35 or NH36 movement. Anything with an automatic Miyota movement mainly. I have a few. Steeldive is massive bang for your buck and is truly awesome. Try Addiesdive and Pagani Design. Watch other reviewers. Invicta get mixed reviews. I have a Corgeut James Bond watch Omega copy and a Pagani Design James Bond Omega copy. They are excellent. There are literally hundreds of submariner homages out there with many just rubbish. If you want to try a real cheapie you can get a Paulareis (daft name) homage Omega made of coated alloy with a Chinese automatic movement for under 20 quid from Ali Express. I've got about three of these including the Apollo 11 moon watch. They're bang on in terms of calibration. My Benyar "Rolex" Explorer was just over priced junk. Advertised as 316L stainless steel, it turned out to be coated alloy and couldn't keep time. Don't rule out watches with thr Chinese movements in them either. There's a lot of value if you know what to look for. Thet come with no real customer service or guarantees from AliExpress though. They could last 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years and over. Servicing might be a future problem. Go for a Seiko or a Miyota movement and don't rule out the Chinese seagull movement. For up to 60 quid for a Steeldive you can get a really excellent quality watch. I have the Captain Willard. 👍
Vincero had an ad before you can click past it on youtube a couple of weeks/months ago about unboxing. It was something like: "First impression wow, it got marble in the back, cool design and the strap is a little stiff but that just means it will last a long time"
Glad to see a Lorus in the opening clip of the video. I myself have one that belonged to my grandfather, a V515-8A00 "Gent's wristwatch, gold-tone, quarts." which unfortunately wasn't operating. A quick trip to the watch hospital and it's thankfully had a movement made for it by Seiko that should last it! It is immaculate, not a single scratch and the coloring is still as if it's fresh from the store.
Comparing a Daniel (David?) Wellington to a Junkers must hurt a lot ! Very good channel, Always love my Yemas, Junkers and even Spinnakers (I know, but for the price the 5075 is nice)
The BMI of 5000 comment had me in tears. Brilliant! Just subbed. Truer words have not been said, regarding this sample of junk from a Chinese watch parts bin.
I do have the Pathfinder from Fossil (SOLAR) so far no complaints. I had many watches like OMEGA, BREITLING IWC, MAURICE LACROIX, ROLEX, TISSOT, SEIKO, CITIZEN CASIO,JUNGHANS, ORIENTetc..Most I gave away to my Family because if you don't use them they can break. Now I'm 75 years old and have bought a watch that I like the look/design and solar driven similar to ECO DRIVE which is convenient. Don't need a watch that lasts for a long time at my age it is irrelevant!
You saved me from mvmt, I know nothing of watches, I have been using only 1 one watch in my life the f91w, after 12 years of use it finally died so I was looking for a watch to use every day so I saw the iron mvmt automatic watch for 269 pounds, thank God I saw your warning, I ended up buying the DW5600 and saved 212 pounds, super happy with my indestructible watch 👌
I had to learn the hard way after buying the same Fossil watch that's on this list (the strap tore after about a year and the replacement costed almost as much as the watch itself). I'm now trying to shed light on the whole cheaply made 'fashion' watches on my channel, as well as suggesting better alternatives! I've honestly learned so much from you, mate!
Excellent & Honest video , I did not agree on your Miyota movement is bad content , but i know miyota movt. watches must sell cheap & it feels sad that many watches with sunon movement (China) retail for $ 100 /- under good brand names , all Miyota movt. watches (Fossil) are sold for like $ 150 - 300 /- whereas the movt. cost like $ 20 - 30 /- at most.
Totally agree with you Ben. These are junk watches. You can get better value watches for less to than these overpriced overrated junk watches. Seiko is a good value and even vintage watches can get you a good brand for the price of an mvmt. Ben keep making videos exposing the garbage watches to help people understand products before purchasing. Keep up the good work.
Hi Ben, I don't know how I've missed this "10 Worst" video, as I've been watching your channel for a couple of years. The reason for this comment is that you have such a GREAT, biting sense of humor that I found myself watching it twice. You are definitely funny when you want to be. I'm almost hesitant to mention this (especially on a public forum but...I too fell prey to the slick marketing schtick and lead on by an influencer which I've now come to realize is nothing more than a "Snake Oil Salesman" (for reasons in another venue.) Anyway the watch, and I use that term in the loosest sense, should go unnamed. Suffice to say it's the "Chrono" version of a brand that begins with the letter "V." I even tried to dress it up with steel bracelet to replace the cardboard strap masquerading as "Genuine Italian Leather" but it was just trying to put lipstick on a pig. I wound up wearing it only once in the two years that it has been in my watch box and no matter how I've tried, I just can't do it a second time. There, I feel somewhat better fessing up to the fact that I was duped. Keep up the good work which you do showing "The Good The Bad and (unfortunately) The Ugly" watches in this vast universe of personal time pieces. Cheers!
HI ben ! honestly my dad bought recently the orient sk diver and hes really happy with it. he told me when he came in my age to our country this exact watch was in magazines and his buddies had it but he at that time coudnt buy one. 30 years later he bought it and spite his small wrist he loves that watch but wears it once in while just to remember old times. his daily is a watch i bought him for christmas seiko 5 SNKL43K1. Having worked for FOSSIL watches, I can tell you without a doubt that was an outlet watch- which are terrible 😳. An authentic FOSSIL is much nicer in quality and movement. The leather is real and ages well, and the movement is a lot better. Another shot at them, is alll I’m saying haha
I have 2 Fossil watches I bought a few years ago and still really happy with both of them. One has a leather strap and it has indeed worn in very nicely.
I remember a time when brand loyalty was a real thing to be proud of. A time when almost everything was built for performance and reliability. Today greed has taken over the business model and things are designed and built to fail after a certain amount of time and the scam called, supply and demand has become dominant in everything. It has become a sad and cutthroat world we live in. My 40-year-old furnace and central air conditioner, both of which has never broken down and still work like new, is proof of this. Great video showing the new business world of scams and cheap products produced only to extract the maximum amount of money from people.
I am usually a big fan of Orient, but the SK "diver" made me wonder if they had been bought out by some awful company that wanted to destroy their brand. Cheap and Gaudy is the perfect description. Re: Vincero, the herpes of watch ads, it took me ages to stop the barrage of ads and videos trying to sell me one of their overpriced watches. I am afraid to say the word Vincero out loud in front of my phone, for fear of unleashing another assault of Vincero ads.

IMHO another key to identify these channels is that suddenly they all review the same watch..
that was very enjoyable 18 mins.
ben vs. alpha m round 2? cant wait
I want to see you do a collab with a guy called Mike Winnet... I reckon you'd be a huge fan if you saw his content! Awesome vid as usual Ben 😁
I'm subscribed to Mike actually! He does some great work over there! Glad you enjoyed it Luke
Thanks for all the info gathering and data concentration you do for us.
That Sternglass is beautiful, sad Ben's reasoning is spot on
Nice knowing you Vincero......RIP
I have a question for Ben, what are your thoughts on homage watches, are they worth it. Best homage watche brands so that I can look at them.
Great video btw.
Best affordable homage watch brand is probably Invicta, even though it gets a lot of hate.
@@markgrieves1307 damn man, thanks. Stay safe.
Solid video. Truthfully presented without being pompous. Some of these watches are actually attractive but priced to gouge, like the Camden.
The most honest reviewer to date! Keep it up, young man! :D
Brutally honest, might I add! 😁
Absolutely brilliant Ben...well done mate 👏👏👏
To subscribe after viewing just one video is very unlikely, but this time I did it. Keep up the great work
Very good! More of those please!
Recently obtained a casio Oceanus OCW S100. I think you’d be a big fan Ben. You should get your hands on one!
Vincero had an ad before you can click past it on youtube a couple of weeks/months ago about unboxing. It was something like:
"First impression wow, it got marble in the back, cool design and the strap is a little stiff but that just means it will last a long time"
For watching all your videos while packing presents, I even deactivated the Adblocker. Great videos. Kuss auf die Nuss from Germany. - T
Thanks for this video which confirm my opinion and feeling for several brands
Great stuff Ben. The crap watches out there need to be exposed.
4:40 “I felt a bit shafted” we’ve all felt like that watch related or not haha great video as always!!
Lol 8:59 my finger instinctively tried to click the "skip ad" button before realizing that it wasn't an actual ad.
Great video, but you could have given a warning at 2:23! That's an image I'll never be able to unsee!
3:15 second hand literally directly between the markers LMAO
It's sad that this channel is so under-subscribed. More people need to watch this channel before buying watches.
Great review Ben. Educational...
Some of the watch brands in my mind were mentioned in this video.. nice video
Please do a top 10 or even top 5 of the best Micro Brands ?
Keep up the great work, Peace out.
Can we go ahead and just fix the internet as Ben taking a dump and out comes a MVMT has broken it, if only the internet ran an awards ceremony
Great video man. What do you think about the quality of Skagen and Sturhling watches?
Thank you for honesty and straight forwardness. I learned a lot today. :)
Pete :”)
Hi Ben, thanks so much for your honest review. Could you please share your thoughts on Larsson & Jennings watches. thanks & take care!
Great video btw love ur channel !
One has a leather strap and it has indeed worn in very nicely.
thanks for being honest about sh*tter watch brands
Not only is this educatinal and enlightening, it's great entertainment.
2:22, best scene of any watch video in the history of RUclips.
🙄 I actually quite like the looks of that Orient...but I am old enough to remember the 70s.
That Braun... 🤣
Cheers Ben 👍🏻👍🏻
I do like the weird case on the Orient
I remember a time when brand loyalty was a real thing to be proud of. A time when almost everything was built for performance and reliability. Today greed has taken over the business model and things are designed and built to fail after a certain amount of time and the scam called, supply and demand has become dominant in everything. It has become a sad and cutthroat world we live in. My 40-year-old furnace and central air conditioner, both of which has never broken down and still work like new, is proof of this. Great video showing the new business world of scams and cheap products produced only to extract the maximum amount of money from people.
Your video did a great job, well received by viewers, congratulations on that.
Orient does sometimes do some wierd stuff.... that watch is def a perfect example of that
Ben, I'm really enjoying your channel, and it's no nonsense take on watches, be they good or bad. I'll put my hand up here and say I bought a truly vile piece of crap from TK Max purely as a stop gap. When you know you really do know rubbish from 100 yards and of course your videos do a wonderful job of proving the point. So many thanks for better arming me and I won't be making the same mistake(s) again.
Just found your channel. Great video!
Outstanding! The scumbaggery watch: lol. Well done! (Although I expected Spaghetti Scametii there..) 👍
Thank you Ben for all that you do.
Hey Ben am new in the watch collection hobby. I came about your channel by RUclips's wise AI and believe me am glad I found this channel I was planning on buying half of this video's products you have save me from trash.
