Beautiful rig bro, its funny i dealt with the same alternator issue.. it was doing it for weeks, drive it 4-5 hours to NY and the alternator decided to quit when I finally got to my airbnb. These cars are amazing
Great video and rig, I have a 2005 4Runner v6 myself that is built. Becareful with the SPC UACs though, I had them and their balljoints shot out within a year and a couple of shops here in BC have stopped carrying them as they all had incidents of shot balljoints within a year.
Bought my 06 v8 4 runner for 16k with 80k miles. I put over 10k into maintenance in the last 5 years. On top of that I have around 15k so far into my build. custom front winch bumper and back bumper with swing out, bilstein/OME lift with SPC upper control arm and maintainable ball, diode dynamics max fog lighting, ditch lights, and 50’ light bar, putting 33s maybe 34s on next week and ordering roof tent with awning. I know I’m forgetting stuff but that’s my build basically. Oh yeah, my father in law is a car painter by trade. He owns his business. I’m trying to talk him into painting my 4Runner with something cool. I’ll tell him whatever he’s got laying around and he will probably throw down some sick flake paint or something 😂

Aside from the rear wheel bearing noise which is loud af and the dealership giving me the run around on them fixing it i love my 2007 4 runner. It has the usual rock chips on the hood because the previous owner never installed a rock guard on the hood to keep that from happening. I absolutely love my 4 runner. I was a mechanic for 18 years and am pretty much gonna do all the work myself. I cant wait until i get that last payment in and the title to start the work on the 4 runner.
luv the set up. Honestly, after working at a dealership for 8 years, nothing better than an all dealer maintained vehicle. Hope to see your rig around the PNW
I still get my oil changed at the dealership lol at this point I just think it’s cool that it’s never happened anywhere else. I think my next video is going to be about everything that’s broken or gone wrong in the trucks lifespan.
Kenmore? You got a household appliance for your rig!! Kidding. This rig is pretty awesome. Gives me stuff to think about for mine. I'm definitely thinking bumpers next.
I really want to do the rear bumper with a swing out.. but I’m going to be towing a trailer cross country later this month so I’m waiting for now
Money well spent....as long as you plan on keeping it for at least 5 years. I have almost the same rig...but I have the 4.7 V8. Happy trails!!!
I just passed my first year with it! I’m hoping to keep it for as long as possible.. this is by far my favorite vehicle to own!

Heads up to 4th gen owners looking to get their windshield replaced... To ok my 2005 to safelight in Everett and they left me high and dry with no windshield due to really bad rust on the mounting points. Had to have a body shop fix the rust but was without a windshield for a while
That sucks.. I didn’t run into that issue with mine thankfully. At the time, this was my only ride so I would have been screwed

What headlights are those? I’m thinking about getting the same ones on my black 4Runner? How are they holding up?
I don’t remember the name exactly.. but they were from Amazon. I think a bunch of companies sell them under different names but they’re all the same light. Mine have been great! I did reseal them as soon as I got them just in case

It was discount tire in Bellevue, but I did just have tires mounted on my GX and it cost me $110…

I just paid 29,000 for a first generation Toyota Sequoia Overland build. But I'm getting total chaos suspension everything brand new underneath and King off-road racing shocks and coil overs. Front and rear lockers bigger gears in the front and the rear also 35 in nitto ridge Grapplers. And new Laird front fenders so now I've got to paint my truck because those are white fiberglass. And they're putting rear flared fenders their custom making the rear because they don't make any then they're going to start marketing them. I'll be the first in the whole world to have those on a sequoia. Their labor is 175 an hour. The entire total chaos suspension was 11,000 anyway as soon as all the parts get in they're going to start on it should take them about a week ago said maybe a little more
That sounds like it’s going to be pretty epic! If you’ve got a instagram, you should hit me up. I want to watch some that build go down. I love OG sequoias. I’m going to be putting total chaos lower control arms in the near future… it’s funny how all this stuff adds up. I was aiming for around $18k for my total. I certainly missed my mark a little.

@@salsarunner I just wrote a big long-winded explanation of everything with my email address in it and RUclips didn't post it to you. I modeled my truck off of that guy's truck in the video I just sent you being that you got the video I'm not sure yet. I got everything he has on mine and mine's identical to his skin color and year it's an 05 but mine has just the factory lift on it. One of my numbers is 9 and the other one is to then there's another one that is 8 and if you do on Down the Line there's a four and I believe after that there's two nines. And keep going on down the line there's four more numbers there's a 7 and then another 7 after that for good luck. And they're just finally is 0 and a five.....
I didn't get his grill off his light I got a bullnose with a 22-inch light bar in it in a 52-inch curved light bar and two spotlights on the outside front dash but I got the flags like he has same roof rack I actually think mine looks better Chrome marine eagle globe and anchor right above the Limited on each side of the truck there's a couple different RUclips channels that are interested in seeing it so I will be making a video for sure but I believe you can contact me now if you got that last code in my earlier message
In the beginning of that number there's a number 2 after the number 9 but it's spelt "to"
Can you list the link to the skid plate here? Everywhere I’ve looked, the skid plate goes for $600-1200. $320 is definitely more affordable.

This is the one I have.. I honestly don’t know if I would recommend it though. It doesn’t have a physical knob for the volume and it’s super annoying at times. I have the steering wheel controls.. but it would be nice to have something on the head unit
im in an 05 limited 4wd just rebuilt and cleaned the engine. Mine is not as clean as yours is but I am at the point where I will never get rid of it. I want to slowly replace everything I can afford to make it aesthetically pleasing. AMAZING platform . The Seq's arent bad in 4wd same with tundra and land cruiser blah blah but you cant beat a clean 4th gen 4runner.
I completely agree.. I really like the look of some of the OG sequoias, but I wouldn’t take it over a 4Runner. It’s funny I actually just sold my 3rd gen Tacoma bc I never drove it. I would pick the 4Runner over it any day! Have fun building yours up!

People dont realize that all that money you put in, you will never get what you put in when selling. Even a Toyota will only sell around it's market value, soley based on year and milage
Unfortunately true.. I’m definitely not advocating dumping all your life savings into a 20 year old truck with the hopes of making money lol. But I sure love the hell out my 4Runner and don’t plan on selling!

The best thing to do with a 4th gen forerunner is take it to auto disposal. This will save you lots of $$.

@@BlazingFaith1945 My 2008 has a perfect body and engine, but parts of the undercarriage fall off onto the highway when driving. A real rust bucket.
@@bilbo9462 I have no rust on mine and I think the actual mileage is over 300,000 miles. Of course If i ever move to a salt road place I'll pay for a quality rust protection coating.
