Follow up question.. thank you for posting this video! Are they dimmable? Current orange lights I keep low for night driving but I’m liking the white LED look
I used the same parts but found that the led bulb wires would break and once in the groves prevented the bulbs from sitting flush and no longer locked into place. The grey based bulbs have small fragile copper sleeves that break rending the bulbs useless.
Do you have any advice on replacing the lights that are dimmed when not selected? I have the light for the arrow when one of the settings is selected but the light for the text on the knob is not showing up. Great video brother
I don’t want to go full ham, but do you know why my LED flashed when turned on for the first time, then died? And then subsequent attempts with turning the lights on, no flash and no light… I’m an LED swap n00b and also, didn’t get or use this kit as I just wanted to swap an out bulb

I dont believe anyone asked, why were there still orange lights when you were done? Think i noticed 3 orange lights. That aside looks great. I like it and would do it on my 4th gen just dont want any orange at all. Thanks for the reply.

What are LED’s that you don’t have to take apart and retrofit? Did they come in the kit? I bought his kit for my 2008 Limited and I don’t think I have those.

I did this to my 09' Matrix but i went with an amber/orange LED. It retains the factory look and it also helps with the hot spots.

Love the look. What happens if you don't switch the lights to 12v LEDs and leave them as 6v?
They would just be really dim!

Hmm. It’s tough due to the placement of the lights within the knobs. Ideally an LED will be the best bet for output.

I believe those are due to the tinted plastic/glass on the knobs. I may be wrong though!

Great question! I’ve never tried to dim them. My assumption would be the function the same way as any other bulb.

What are you changing with reverse polarity?
When we switch to 12v power, we use the darker film to illuminate the numbers, opposite to before!
The polarity of the polarization, so what used to be opaque becomes transparent and vice versa.

Just remove that grey trim piece and they should disconnect easy and then new bulbs go in the same as the others
