I am appreciative of people who focus on the wonders of flying...and take all these great videos. I see so many kids who have absolutely no interest in the whole experience. They have to have electronic devices distract and entertain them during the flight. Me? I sit in window seats and just watch out the window realizing there is almost 7 miles of air between the plane and solid ground.
I’m 58 years old and am still in awe of modern flight! These videos are awesome, we take air travel for granted. I don’t get to fly much but when I do it is a special occasion and I dress up for it. It is a shame that people treat it the same as riding a transit bus!
On a recent flight from Hong Kong to sfo I was looking out the window at the clouds and ocean below. It was awesome. Flight attendant made me close my shade because other passengers couldn’t see their seat back screens
As a passenger, my favorite thing about the 787 is the increased humidity. They’re not worried about corrosion, so it can be higher. Really makes a big difference on a long flight.
@@DarkSky513 yeh the shark tooth rear exit mixes the flow up better so the louder higher pressure jet exhaust is less of a issue. Amazing stuff that something so simple can make such a difference.

Commenting 1/24/20 from southern RI at 630am EST.... Gorgeous breathtaking takeoff once we get to the 07:30 mark here......nice shot of the huge jet engine from the latest Boeings...being the ''787''... and love the deep deep blue skies above the high clouds towards the end..... I remember those days when 707's and DC-8s mastered the skies...from some 1/2 century ago, plus.....Even I was in a Pan Am 707-jet on 1/29/64..during a severe Tstorm..down in Montevideo, Uruguay...first heading to Buenos Aires, Argentina..and then..a nonstop overnight flight up to NYC's JFK airport the next morning.....I was only six at the time..thankfully...much too young to be scared of what was going on outside during the severe turbulences and constant lightning........yet...still remember that to this very day...about 56 years later.
wow, my hometown back in 2015. Its sad to see all the planes with the old livery, and American Airlines good old "Super80" that's no longer around. Great Video of DFW, it'll age nicely. Imagine looking back on it 15 years from now.
I WOULD HAVE LOVED SITTING NEAR THE ENGINE OF THE "DREAMLINER" ON SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY TO HEAR AND SEE THOSE HUGE ENGINES SPOOL UP. AND THE WING FLEX..."GODSPEED"!
Atlanta airport is like that too, they're both big layover airports where at least half of the passengers you see there are not arriving at or leaving from Dallas/Atlanta, but passing through.
Anyone notice the coincidence that the planes shadow in view at takeoff and again at 10:38 where it crossed a highway along the ground? Long taxiway at DFW. I remember driving under that highway bridge as a jet plane was rolling over it. I live along the flight track from DFW to Austin and San Antonio. So I get to enjoy spotting much flight traffic. Use my flightradar24 app to fully identify each plane, speed, altitude, heading, departure/arrival times and locations.
Big Jets have always fascinated me.....Bigger the Better!! I still want that window seat while travelling by plane & the wonder of it all never ceases for me. Today's kids (generation) treat air travel as a way o get around ...that's all & the shabbiness appalls me.
In every comment section about a video of an aircraft takeoff, there's always one or two people who are like, "I love the RR engine sound". It's like they expect the engines of all aircraft to be made by Rolls Royce. Ever heard of General Electric, Pratt & Whittney and International Aero Engines? Do some research. Not every aircraft is equipped with RB211s, Trents, or Tays. -___-
For myself I hate flying..... it`s funny but I love airports....... there is always such energy ..... people on the move.......many of them happy & looking forward to their trip......travel safe, have fun.....
And now I need to search for a video explaining why the engine moves forward of the wing a bit. That is the first I’ve seen of this. Here I go down a RUclips rabbit hole.
And at 9:40, you can see the last remnants of the old Greater Southwest International Airport. I still think they ought to have put out a Texas Historical Marker out there by now.
That takeoff took like 40 seconds (from roughly 7:50 elapsed to roughly 8:30 elapsed). Is there a reason why they didn't "gun it" and get airborne sooner? Why not more thrust and make it 30 seconds? Are they trying to save fuel? What are they carrying in the cargo bay? Lead weights?
American seems to be the only airline here in America whos planes still look the same as they did back in the 1980s, with the mostly silver body and AA on the tail, but even some of them have changed now and are now white with the American flag colors on tail. United has long lost their white and yellow/orange striped planes with the orange UA on the tails that they had in the 80s, they were then blue for a while about 15-20 years ago, and now have merged with Continental, which in the 80s had their yellow planes with the gray global image on the yellow tail. USair had different looking planes too back then. Then, we lost completely two airlines that were really big and popular back in the 1980s, TWA and Eastern, which were never seen again after the early-mid 1990s. Actually we've lost 4 airlines since the 1980s, Pan Am and Braniff also.
The thing that struck me the most was how loud this plane is. I'd heard 787s were supposed to be "quiet". Nope. Just as noisy as a DC-10 or a 757. Don't forget to take your earplugs.
Beautiful video on that 787-8. Never been on a 787. Been on a 777 and on a 747 but not on that beauty. Very nice! Love the sound of those engines. Hard to tell if they are the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 or the General Electric GEnx as there are 787 equiped with either of them but they sound awesome. Keep posting vids. They are awesome. Cheers from Costa Rica.

@@chineechik Hmm...kind of a violation of your rights or preferences as a paying passenger. That's the airline's problem, not yours.
Brilliant taxi, so many aircraft and such orchestrated ground work! Graceful take off... Absolutely beautiful!

aluminum doesn't rust
Everything about this video was fantastic. As far as I am concerned I might as well have been seated as a passenger in that airplane. Nice.
Thank you!
787s sound like they are at half thrust on take off, so much quieter than the older stuff.
GEnx engines have special nacelles designed to reduce noise, I think it drops cabin noise by up to 10 db?

I still love the sound of the old planes much better, a real sounding engine...ijs. 😊

The nostalgia of seeing the old American Airlines livery though.
Public comments.it is so beautiful to watch aircraft taking off and landing amazing. It is my fun to watch since I was a child I love it.
Excellent effect with the Shadow of the aircraft for the first couple thousand feet.

Like 👍that sound in particular on that turbo engine
Beautiful video clip. Thank you for sharing.
I live in Dallas! I go visit Mexico in plane about every 2 years. It’s amazing!
So pretty. Loved the shadow on the ground. I love the noise too. Reminds me of when I use to fly.
My first flight ever was DFW-ORD on a 727 the day of my 18th birthday when I joined the Navy in the early 80s. Hope to fly a widebody some day.
I miss those 727s. I flew them into ORD often as well when I was younger.
you see a splendid climate, excellent for your wonderful filming, thanks.
Love the detail of the plane's shadow on the runway for a good 10 seconds...
Love American Airlines
Great video. Beautifully shot. And DFW is my favorite airport.
Smooth and beautiful. Of course, any time you get to leave Texas it's a beautiful thing.
Best place to be right now. Everyone moving here seems to think so also. I might agree in the summer, but it's great in all other seasons.

Nice video...the sky and everything is so clear...what a relaxing flight 🛫
The plane sped up in no time -- the amount of thrust those engines created is massive -- and it didn't sound like they were at very high throttle.
What a lovely takeoff. I love my DFW Airport.
I certainly live aviation... but I HAVE NEVER SEEN A BETTER 787 TRIBUTE than your video !! Keep up the good work...
Thank you! I appreciate the comment because it gives me motivation to take more videos

Nice one, you've got a very good seat there. Nice to see the MD-80 pushbacks!
This is the flagship airport in America, why didn't we build all of them like this one in Dallas. #luvaviation

I didn't realize American flew the 787 on such short routes.
They were break in flights.
These 787's then fly on to international destinations from ORD to Europe, China, Japan, etc.

Agreed! Take off and approach/landing is cool, but in flight airliners are mostly tight, noisy and just exhausting.
I love airports also. How they're laid out and designed, each is unique. Probably why I chose to major in civil engineering

GE Sir, if it were RR engines it'd sound like something was grinding the gears inside.
Hope GE engines don't blow up as often as their light bulbs do.
They are definitely more reliable than the Trent 1000
Great video
Great video. I sure look forward to flying this bird in March in the same seat, 4L. Looks like you're allotted the best view on the plane.
Really great video, but what I'd wish was that you included the startup. The grind of the GE engines at startup are real nice.
