As a Steelers fan I love the acknowledgment HOWEVER, a list without the Lakers is a joke man

Like the Packers, the Celtics “dynasty” is very heavily skewed: 16 titles in 30 seasons (including 11 in 13 seasons) between 57-86…only 1 in the other 44 seasons.
Isn't the 11 in 13 the greatest dynasty ever? In terms of winning? Lakers are far better in the modern NBA, but you can't ignore 11 in 13 years even tho it was 8 teams and a less skilled league. There were a lot of good players outside the Celtics. I agree the celtics are overrated as an org due to their past success, but that past success is clearly more dominant than the Lakers ever were
@@RafaelOliveira-gb3ms I agree with everything you said. I think I would say that the Celtics WERE a dynasty From the time they drafted Bill Russell until Larry Bird hurt his back, so I guess one could say that mad dog is right, being that the list is the most storied franchises/greatest dynasties in the HISTORY of pro sports. I guess that the question is not completely clear, though. Maybe “most storied” and “greatest dynasties in history” are not exactly the same thing. For example, due to their general lack of success before and after Tom Brady, the Patriots aren’t the most storied, but I would probably say that the Patriots dynasty over 18 seasons, from 2001-18, with 6 Super Bowl wins in 9 appearances, is greater than either the Packers or the Steelers as far as greastest dynasties in HISTORY.
@@jeremycrandall2899 I don't really watch NFL, I'm european but I love the NBA, but I was a bit confused how brady dinasty wasn't included but still, I'd put Real Madrid number 1 easily, but I understand football (or soccer) isn't part of your main sports culture

Me to buddy
There's so much respect between these 2 I love it
6:45 the way Stephen A jumps up and down like when a child does not get his way lol. Gotta love the guy.
Grew up in the 70s, Bowman era Habs were a legit powerhouse. Plus they had earlier incarnations that were just as dominant.
Ya, they were insane. They had 5 in a row in the 50s and then only a few years after that from 1965 to 1979 the Canadiens won 10 IN A SPAN OF 14 YEARS!!!
And they won cups in every full decade of the 20th century they played since their founding in 1909. Best all-time winning percentage in the NHL as well, by multiple percentage points.
The only real mark against them (other than the extremely lame "lol, hockey's not popular") is that they're in a current title drought approaching 30 years. But I also feel like "degrees" are worth considering in this kind of discussion. Like, among North American pro sports, they trail only the Yankees in titles, and they lead the next-most-decorated teams (Lakers and Celtics) by 6, leading every other franchise by double digits.
6 titles is a massive achievement in its own right...that's the entirety of what the Steelers have done, and they actually got consideration in this top 5 for that. That's the DIFFERENCE between the Habs and the Lakers/Celtics. I say that earns them a bit of leeway in terms of recent struggles.
2:26, Stephen A. and Mad Dog Russo are gold. So much fun to watch. Stephen A. and Mad Dog Russo are on a list as the top duo's to do this sports talk on TV. Who is better when you factor in chemistry, entertainment, knowledge of topics, and history?

Saying Bob Cousy and Paul Pierce with such base and confidence is crazy.
The Celtics used to be "storied" but I would hardly call decades of coming up short outside of one championship "storied." They lost their luster. You have to stay relevant to be considered "storied."
@@trapaneezus The only decade the Celtics haven't been relevant in was the 90s. They won championships in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 00s, went to the Finals in in 10' , ECF in 12' and went to 6 ECF from 2017-22 and are currently in the Finals again. The main reason the Celtics fell off after Larry Bird is because their All-Star Reggie Lewis died in 1993 at age 27. Combine that with the fact that the Celtics drafted Len Bias in 1987 who was seen by the entire country as the future cornerstone of the Celtic franchise post-Larry Bird and Len Bias died at 22 years old. Those tragedies set the Celtics back significantly as an organization and broke the continuity that Red Auerbach had created.
Drafting Pierce was the beginning of the end of finally coming out of that period of irrelevancy.. In terms of "decades of coming up short" The Celtics rebuilt from the ashes of the Pierce/Garnett/Allen team about as well as you could possibly expect. Be realistic, no team in NBA history has never had down seasons. The great teams have longterm plans and don't stay down for long. The fact that the Celtics made it to the ECF while they were rebuilding in 2017 and again in 2018 with a 19 year old Jayson Tatum as their top scoring option shows you how bad the East was at that time.. and because of this context, I disagree with your framing of this time period as the Celtics "coming up short" because they overachieved to even get there. Making those deep playoff runs were huge accomplishments based on what their goals were for their roster at that time. 2019 is a different story because that team had a lot of expectations and completely fell apart.. But Kyrie is his own separate discussion lol
These two make for great television. They have great chemistry.
