    I thought you had Bert slides down and then I saw you practicing those...then a cutaway to the Instagram video😂.
    The surf line, where you pump up and down on the quarter pipe multiple times, just looks fun! Makes me want to try it out in a large bowl and see how that feels.
    And I thought you had the trucks on the coping, you definitely got past the wheels. It must have been the "orange grip" 😂

    • @AdventuresInSkateboarding
      @AdventuresInSkateboarding  Год назад +1

      I couldn't slide the wheels the first session. They where a bit sticky. The next morning,. After they were broken a bit, they started to slide. I think a lot of it, and surfskate in general, is just me getting the feel for it. Not sure I know what right feels like yet. But it is a rad time and another tool for the tool kit.

    "Orange Grip" As they say In Lords of Dogtown "Surf it like a wave man" 🤙I tend to find tricks more fun at times, but sometimes riding has been really fun for me too. I've been injured for a while now. Sprained Ankle and Achilles Tendonitis. I kept it light and just rode some transition and I had a good time. It felt good to do something rather than do nothing. I loved that clip of you and that other guy doing those bertslides at the same time. I typically see doubles on park and vert, but in the streets is a little different.

    • @AdventuresInSkateboarding
      @AdventuresInSkateboarding  Год назад

      I jacked up my ankle a while back, I think that is subconsciously why I haven't been working on a new trick. Plus all my friends skate bowl and transition more than anything. Saturday we had a slappy and surf skate session, it was great. But I do need to get back to tricks. Use it or lose it.
      Hope you heal up soon. Stay Rad 🟧

    • @AdventuresInSkateboarding
      @AdventuresInSkateboarding  Год назад +1

      @@AdventuresInSkateboarding yeah I saw that. I can see it def had a place there but I def was terrified of how squirrelly the board felt when I tried it but that could be because of how heavy I am and the board wasnt set up for me. I could also see how this could really help with building balance and technique you could take to a regular board and loosen up those trucks even more.

    Yeah, SurfSkating got me back into skating just through the action of skating. It was a good medium for just to get legs back and work on surf techniques. But, there’s always this deep desire to skate like I used to once upon a time. But, I’m mostly content on the SurfSkate, just rolling about.

      @@AdventuresInSkateboarding thanks. I’m seeing what’s possible, little by little. I wish we had a better park/area for other aspects. I feel more like I’m in Rodney Mullen territory, rehearsing the form of it to music, rather than attacking. It’s different for me for sure, but even doing what I’m doing I can see improvements in my fork from one YT post to the next. So that’s nice. Wish I had that sorta feedback as a kid. It’s helping my surfing evolve rapidly too I noticed. As long as I stay off the concrete I think it’s a good sport with many health benefits. Right now I’m struggling with some rotator cuff stuff. It’s brutal. It’s like 37 weeks and I’m doing everything there is to do short of seeing a doctor to keep on going. God helps those who help themselves so I’ll keep looking for more solutions here and adding them to my recovery process if they’re seemingly working. I’m over doctors. Ben Franklin said we have to be our own doctors. True story.
