In this video you will see absolutely every 6 cylinder motorcycle ever made. The first six-cylinder motorcycles appeared on racing tracks already at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, but they entered mass production much later.
Many thanks to all bikers and motorcycle fans who contributed their videos to our motorcycle channel. If you have a motorcycle at home that you built yourself, or an old, interesting or unusual motorcycle that you would like to show, please send me short videos from your camera or mobile phone to: We Transfer - jawatinomoto@gmail.com
I will process your videos and publish them on our motorcycle RUclips channel - Jawa Tino - Авто/Мото
In 1979 I test-rode the Honda CBX at Oakland Honda in Oakland, California. What really impressed me was how light and easy steering was on that heavy bike at low speeds doing 180 degree turns on side streets. Needless to say it got up to speed in a hurry on the 580 Freeway....
The Benelli was beautiful ❤
You forgot the Horex VR6
Made up for it by stuck on z1300 and concourse = same bike with fairing - think the dudes got a kwak condition - nice vid though
Yup and the VR6 engine hybrid straight&V is the basis for the W config that ended up in Bugatti veyron W16
Horex vr6???????
The prototype Suzuki 6 would have been a winner
Excellent video!
The Benelli SEi, no matter how unreliable, was one of the prettiest and best sounding bikes, ever produced
Agree.
The Honda 6 was a terror sounded like an F.1 racer
I bought a CBX in 79.
Rode 5000 miles in five days..
Put a 6 into one exhaust on it.. Sounded like a formula 1..My wife could hear me coming home a mile and a half away, at night.
Great bike.
Riding my second Busa now, 2022.
Thanks, enjoyed, Been riddin for decades. Had a GW for awhile. To top heavy for around town,Still a smooth ride.
7:40 RIP Chris Pfeiffer
Honda gets my vote for looks, that CBX is gorgeous, and that parade of Gold Wings @ the end omg! But back in the day my friends all had Kawasaki 6s. Kerckers ,tuning & sport fairings they were monsters in their day.
A two stroke 6 would eat pants though??
Great sounds from the cbx bike's
Cbx w/ a set of headers rivals any old F1 car.
One you missed is the Honda Rune, which was another, and very high end, variation on the flat 6 Gold Wing/Valkyrie architecture. As a short series, you might also want to look up the Laverda V6 endurance racer of the 1970s.
Sympa votre chaine, ça fait la part belle à la technique, à la prochaine
The Benelli sounds great ,never seen one here in the USA.
@Retired Bore please do enlighten me as to the flaws of all the Benelli's that somehow didn't afflict the 500....which as you say had improvements over the original Honda design.
Still fairly common in UK , especially the 900
@@retiredbore378 Also the Benelli 6's were the Honda 500/4 copy with 2 extra cylinders hacked on.
not many of us have seen one mate either
Brick house builds has one ruclips.net/video/R-SMJXRfSOk/видео.html
Friend of mine had the Honda six , I had a Honda 350 twin , we both could do the speed limit , I got 72 miles to the gallon , he never told me what his milage was ( embarrassed maybe ) at the time anything above 60 miles per hour was illegal anywhere in the province. It was plain to see he could drive above the speed while my bike was comfortable at 60 . I had zero speeding tickets while he lost his license due to excessive speeding tickets . I got the last laugh lol
Suzuki hot air never came into production it shouldnt have been mentioned here..😭
Der Junge mit den Krücken... da werden gerade ,,riskante Kunststücke" dargeboten, und ,,Er" symbolisiert für mich : He Leute , bleibt auf dem Teppich, wir haben ein riskantes Hobby .... - by the way, erneut ein sehr fesselndes Video a la Jawatino 👌
You forgot the HOREX VR6.
You forgot the Laverda.
I wanted to buy a CBX 1000 in 1983. I believe it was a 82 model. Unfortunately since my mom was cosigning she said no, it was too big. So I bought a SECA 650 Turbo instead lol.
My friend traded his custom 6 cylinder Kawasaki 1300 hundred on a 650 Honda turbo back about that time. Pretty white & gold bike but I think he missed having the big Kawi.
Why a Suzuki concept bike? Why not mention the Horex V6 that is actually being produced?
I remember vivid when i saw the Z1300 in 1979 ( i was 13 back then ) That big block just blew me away.
BTW same did the Jet ski that was displayed in the bank beside the Z1300
PS: i love this old bike in the video are not FAG loud.
Where is the Horex VR6?
Gdzie Horex vr6
Horex missing, Laverda missing..
you forgot the Horex VR6
These super bikes were why they had to change to a rolling start for acceleration testing as the old rev and dump the clutch would result in just sitting there and eating the tyres in a cloud of burning rubber, or popping a wheele
That Kawasaki KZ 1300 in the video was ROUGH! Wrong paint, wrong exhaust, rust, corrosion on the chrome engine covers, etc.
And Ugly even when new.
Should put the 1600 cc motorbike 6 in an old BMW 316 car . Logical engine swap.
All sixes
You forgot the Horex vr6
I miss the Horex VR6…🤔
And Honda in the 70'teens made a 6 cyl. I was working at the import compagny here in Denmark.
The Honda CBX sports motorcycle was manufactured by Honda from 1978 to 1982.[10][11] With a 1047cc inline six-cylinder engine producing 105 bhp (78 kW), it was the flagship of the Honda range. The CBX was well-received by the press, but was outsold by its sibling introduced in late 1979, the Honda CB900F
On the Z 1300 it always sounds as if two cylinders are over fueled and two under fueled.... the remaining two sound spot on. Why ??
You forgot to mention various Horex models based on the VR6 engine. What a shame!.. You even remarked about a Suzuki prototype which never saw production but not a single hint on the Horex VR6 still in production. You have not studied your homework guys.
Several V6 Laverda motorcycles were built in Italy & used successfully in racing but didn't make the production line .
Shame , astonishing bikes
Several is two and only one complete and running.
ruclips.net/video/jpiC1RNoM-w/видео.html
successfully? I don't think it had much success at all.
what about the laverda 6 Zylinder?
forgot the almighty HONDA VALKYRiE. long live the KING...
What about Horex?
Laverda v6?
you twist the throttle forward?
I can start it and rev it.
I have no idea that a cylinder is running too lean.
Soon to self destruct
I remember the Z1300, CBX, and Benelli Sei very well. There were dealers for all three in my immediate area, and all could be seen running around town during their era, though the Benellis didn't sell very well and were therefore somewhat rare. They were all interesting bikes for sure, but six cylinders were never really my thing. Just too much width and weight for anything besides munching interstate highway miles in my opinion. I do wish I had bought one just to have though.
Didn't MV Augusta had a 6 cylinder ? One of the most famous brand been left out.?
They never made a 6 cylinder bike
@@gntdriver2840 I'm sure they made a 350cc 6cyl.
@@juliantoth5873 my bad ive checked and youre right, but it was a racer that never went into production
@@gntdriver2840 all good, Agostini loved it, used to out do the 500's have a top day.
Wasn't that the 1st one we saw, the 1957 350-6?
the suzuki at the end...not produced...why include it ?
In order to keep up with the Yamaha 2 stroke Honda starter to make the 6-cylinder motorcycles for racing then they have the audacity to tell the racing board that they were Stock Motorcycle knowing full well they did not produce any six-cylinder motorcycles for general public use. Just like when they used a magnesium crankcase against the rules to reduce the weight of the CB750 4 cylinder race bike when the bike slid on its side it caught fire aluminum does not do that. Naughty naughty shame on you.
le probleme etait le poids du moteur et son encombrement! ++reglage des carbus!
Anyone know what the wheelbase was on the CBX?looks pretty long
It is 1495 mm, or 58.86 inches. Hope this helps. CBXs are awesome bikes.
👌🏻🇧🇷
Where is Benelli 900 sei..?
What happened to the Mv Agusta V6? Now that was a beautiful bike!
MV Agusta never made a V6. All were in-line 6’s.
@@kasperkjrsgaard1447 I got mixed up. it was a Laverda.
Cool, but a Maintenace nightmare.
in line engine layout still manageable as long as the plugs and carbs are service access friendly... unlike some cars where the v6 or v8 engine always have one bank of cylinders that cannot be reached without hours of removing major parts of the engine
How? 2 more plugs 2 more ca4bs to sync, 2 more sets of valves. Guys maintain 12 cylinder engines, a 6 is nothing
@@rt2255 How? Just like how easy it is to work on a BMW clutch, only one of those.
This isn't your moped, all those do-dads that make the cylinders sing have to fit into a defined area, which is usually small.
Home cooking oven.
I don’t like the CBX Rims . The KZ Rims are better I think. Have a great day Everyone.
Those are 79 CBX rims, they reversed them in 1880.
If we account for inflation and suppose these monsters released today, let's just say many husbands will lie to their wife about how much they spend on their new toy.
C.B.X. awsome bike
Why no engine specs stated for the Gold Wings? Just some lame parade of tacky Wings with over done lighting and pasengers waving as if they are celebrities.
@ 8 min skills
Benelli SEI ??
