I struggled with setup but made a 1/2" plywood cabinet and really liked the corners. Now I have a router lift in a large work bench but it's in storage until my new house and shop are built. I am sorry for your loss, sadly I can relate to it all too well. I also had no luck with miters, until I built a dedicated cross cut sled. I also don`t use the digital angle-finder, I use a 45 ruler. it is much more accurate for setting the table saw angle. now, with my dedicated sled, I get PERFECT miters every time- on a not-that-good table saw. and if by mistake the saw is not 45, I cant slip the sled through and get the material ready for cutting, and it lets me know I need to adjust it. very quick set-up, consistent and very good results.

    I prefer to use something like the LTX tape instead of regular bandaids. It's a tape that only sticks to itself and not to the skin, so it doesn't leave any annoying adhesive residues. The only downside is that from what I have seen it only comes in "skin" color or blue, black certainly looks a bit better!

    This bit confuses me as I would have thought a simple 45° router bit would do the mitre. This bit seems to give a different profile for enhanced gluing / surface area, but if we’re just thinking about basic mitre to compete with the table saw, then I’m not sure why the simple bit wouldn’t be the option here?

    • @michab4083
      @michab4083 28 дней назад

      It's not just a replacement for a 45 degree cut on a table saw but actually an improvement because two sides are locked together in this miter, making clamping much easier than for a standard miter while at the same t7me enhancing its strength.

    So I use superglue on my cuts, I've spoken to a few doctor friends who agreed with it... They best way to use it is to out a few drops on any blood that comes out to form a superglue scab.
    I started doing this afyer i went to the ER once and thats exactly what they used. I asked wht the adhesive was and they said cynoacrilate (medical grade superglue is slight different than the shop stuff, but not that much)
    You can reaserch it if you feel sceptical about this and you'll find a lot of stydies that corroborate the safety of this method.
    If the cut is big a few steristrips and superglue on top works great.
