    31 miles in the desert and no overheating. Impressive!

      I thought for sure if it was going to overheat, it would happen on this ride.

    Real-life test videos are all too rare on RUclips. Thank you, Tom, for going to all this trouble for us, especially in this lead-melting heat. 👍

      Thank you! I figured if it can do well in the Arizona heat, it should do well almost anywhere.

      @@tomsgadgetgarage I came to the same conclusion. After the torture of climbing and baking, we can assume that the overheating problems reported a few times are just teething problems with this new version. Hopefully, these problems will disappear and can be corrected by software patches. After so much riding, have you noticed any annoying noises due to the quality of the assembly, suspension or rear mudguard, for example? Thank you and enjoy your rides in Will coyote country. 😉

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  Год назад +2

      The only noise I hear is the rear suspension if I hit a large bump going fast. Softening the suspension has helped with this. No other noises to note :)

    Great video and very helpful commentary. My wife and I have been riding Max G2s since the release date, and we’ve had no issues whatsoever. Having the times of our lives exploring areas in our 50s!

      Glad to hear you’re enjoying your scooters to the max 😊. I’ve had a trouble free experience so far as well. If anything were to go wrong, I’d imagine this ride would have done it.

    Great informative video, I have no idea why I'm watching since I live in the cold Northern Europe and will never be riding near a desert, but very nice to see some of the desert and hear the cicada

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  27 дней назад

      Thank you so much! Yah some years those Cicadas are deafening. They are so loud during the summer monsoon season we have here.
      I would much prefer to ride in Northern Europe during the summer months haha.

    Thanks for making this video. I actually talked to a rep at Segway and made a request to be able to change the temp from Celsius to Fahrenheit and they said they will definitely do that on the next firmware update. I also gave them my info on my Max G2 about my random High temp warning i get on the scooter. Hope there is a fix for mine. Im in los angeles, California. The weather here has been up and down. I wont use it if its too hot lol

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  Год назад +1

      Thanks! That would be awesome if they allow Fahrenheit for the temps in the app. Great suggestion, I hope they make it happen. They do it with miles to kilometers so should be a quick fix. Yah I’ve seen reports on Reddit/RUclips/FB about overheating. Given all those reports I was sure I’d run into it on this ride but thankfully not. Too hot outside to get stranded haha.

    • @RoadkillBC
      @RoadkillBC Год назад +3

      That does remind me, my wife had one random hi temp code on hers too, and it shut down at only 31°C for about 20 seconds. It was on a steep hill, but the temp was obviously not a problem. I ride much harder and I’ve seen temps to 49°C without errors. Hopefully just a glitch that can be fixed with a firmware update.

    I've recently purchased the F65 which is comparable to this scooter. I was skeptical about the claimed performance. It claims 40.4 miles range, I will be super excited if it gets 30. Great video sir.

      Thank you! The F65 looks like a sweet scooter. You might be able to squeeze out up to 30. I was surprised to get as much range as I did on the Max G2.

      D u know why when is 50% battery life
      Is it going at 18 mph??
      when is full battery 22 mph
      Please is that normal

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  11 месяцев назад

      Hey! As your battery discharges, it's voltage goes down. Once you get past ~50 you start seeing the effects. The good news is that you'll be able to maintain 18-19mph down to about 20% battery if I recall correctly.

      Thank you! This is one of the early range tests before the landslide of updates. Here’s my most recent test ruclips.net/video/2mmNfiyAoeY/видео.html. This test was done on about 70% pavement and 30% dirt path. Based on some other tests, an all pavement course will likely yield an additional 1-2 miles.

    just tested mine, sports mode, lots of uphills over long distances, winter with a little bit of snow, -4 celsius, 25km and still 30% left.
    This scooter doesn't care about hills, I think some of the hills I climbed were around 35 degrees, this guy accelerates through them, rather than slow down. Amazing escooter!

    It is true that it loses a lot of power when the battery drops to 60

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, but in my experience that’s common with most scooters. As you deplete the battery your ability to hit max speed diminishes. You’ll still be able to reach 18-19 mph with 30-40% remaining. The next real drop off is at around 20%.

    • @anthonyfanella6523

    • @tomsgadgetgarage

      Mirror works great! It has a long arm so that you can view to the side and back. Short arm mirrors don’t work. They only give you a view of yourself haha.
