  • Do you have a piece of lost media that you're always trying to convince people are real? For me, it's Nightmare Ned, an ill-fated Disney property form the 90s. So let's all lay down for a nap and join him in a nightmare, shall we?

Great review! I snorted so loud at the "woah nice graphics!" clip lol thanks for shining a spotlight on this game, Nightmare Ned is such an important game to me and I hold it very dear to my heart. It's tragic how underrated and forgotten it is. Glad it's starting to gain a little bit more attention!

This game scarred me as a child. I had so many nightmares due to it but I also loved playing it.
There was a part where toilet swallows you and I had nightmares about my toilet swallowing me.
I was also scared of the box art for Dungeon Keeper (with the Horner Reaper on the front.)
The toilet and Horned Reapers head/face combined into one in my mind and I had nightmares nearly every night of the toilet turning into the Horned Reapers head that chasing me down the hallway.
Had this nightmare for years and it haunted me as a child. I had it every single night more or less. I remember the last time I had it though.
I was looking at the toilet and it started rumbling and turned into the Horned Reapers head/face. I looked to my right and saw a sledge hammer. I picked it up and hit it in the teeth and smashed them all. I woke up. Never had the nightmare since.
As much as it terrified me as a kid...they're fond memories now😌

I remember nightmare Ned , I watch it on Saturday mornings as a kid, I could relate to being afraid of the dark and the scary things that go bump in the dark, good video.

Such a shame because a premise based around dreams and nightmares has so much potential for creativity.

I believe Steve Bartek was the composer for the Nightmare Ned TV show, not the game (and the game had two composers, one for the score and one for the songs). As for the glitches and "fast rats," I think that might be a processor issue. Some older PC games weren't built for the faster processors that we have now, so there can be issues when emulating them nowadays.
Anyway, I rediscovered this game after remembering the trailer for it, which I had seen as a kid only once. It's a very simple game, for sure, but on an artistic level, I loved it. I've always had a love of mixed-media art and animation, as well as demented stuff, so this was right up my alley. I've always wished there were more projects that would try that sort of twisted mixed style, and the 90s-2000s definitely had a certain place for it, but times change and trends shift. Gotta embrace the projects we got and hope that someone out there will make something like that again someday.

Hey there, I loved the video you made on the game! I consider myself to be one of the biggest fans of this underrated classic. This is one of the most detailed and insightful videos analyzing the game I have seen. You really put a ton of effort to review a game that only extreme die-hard Disney fans would remember. Amazing job!

Loved this game as a kid. Had no idea there was a show until I was looking at the IMDb page for the kid from Hellraiser 4 and saw him credited as Ned in both the game and show.

I actually took a look at that Beaver symbolism.
    According to Dream Moods.
To see a beaver in your dream symbolizes energy ambition and productivity. It is time to put your ideas into action. Hard work is necessary to achieve your own goals
To dream of electricity symbolizes vigor and life energy. You need to be revitalized. Alternatively, the dream suggests that you need to conserve your energy.
To dream that the electricity is fried or out indicates your lack of insight and perspective on a situation.

Just to add on, I stumbled upon Nightmare Ned while listening to Disney intro themes. You'd imagine my shock when I hear a kid screaming and saying "No No NO" over and over again. Sucks cause I was in the middle of a Fortnite session, with 3 people left.....Yeah it got intense
