Sounds awesome! Any way you could maybe do a shootout Vs the Purple Nightmare? Maybe into the Power Amp also? Would just be cool to see, but no pressure!
Absolutely excellent! Thank You Always! By the way a scammer tried to promise Me a guitar (Fender Sonic duo) a floor rig (with just about everything) and a Marshall DSL 20 combo! I was so happy and because of Your very Kind, Honest, sincere attitude and nature they tried to emulate Your Human Sim lol. However, after the telegram thing and asking for delivery money up to 300$ I simply asked what the little green pedal was in the middle of the floor rig (Ibanez) mini tube screamer they said that they forgot all about that one haha… anyways please give a heads up because You are My favorite content creator, demo, reviewer, and Musician. They are really getting good at this crap and destroying dreams and Wallets! And I always ask this but… Best Recto Distortion in a Box Pedal? Thanks Jon!
Damn Tonex driftwood purple nightmare profile got me gassing for a real driftwood amp now. Is this better than the tonex profile? Who knows? I didn't think I'd find something better than my tube engls...but damn that tonex haha
Damn. That pedal sounds really cool. I wish it didn't have the boost though. I just prefer to choose my own + sometimes I want pedals inbetween my main distortion and my boost (like if you want to stack it with an hm2 style or muff style pedal).
Is the Purple Nightmare based on a Rectifier-like circuit? I had always thought it was more of a 5150/Soldano circuit. Btw; it would be nice to hear this pedal through something like a Seymour Duncan Powerstage or similar power amp. Most people will probably be using it through something like that rather than a full blown 100w head.
Hey Jon, Love to tone of this pedal your getting from the Purple nightmare power amp section, But how does it sound in a fender twin reverb or a Marshal plexi ? I wouldn't need this pedal if I had a Driftwood amp, I would buy this pedal to get this sound from an amp I already have like a fender or marshall plexi,
If I were to go that route I'd have to try it through a tonne of amps. The way I did it should give you a good approximation of how it sounds through a wide variety of amps since the Driftwood doesn't color the sound as much as you might think. A plexi on the other hand would color the sound more
@@SonicDriveStudio Hi Jon, Yes compare it to the amp it's designed from But ? How much difference would there be running through a different pedal board Tube or Solid state power amp or IR loader that others may have on there pedalboard before purchasing this preamp pedal, only to find out it doesn't sound close to what they expected in this video. I have the Synergy system & I find differences with the power amp I run it through.
Thoughts on this marvelous pedal? :)
It's amazing how much the non-descript sound of the guitar is completely transformed by that well designed pedal. Really impressive. Thanks
A driftwood tone that is within reach pricewise! Very tempted to get one 😮
Sounds amazing man!
Always look forward to your videos. Great unique playing style and overall very detailed and entertaining demos!
Thanks!
It would fun to hear a comparision with the Purple Nightmare Preamp pedal and this unit.
I don't have the preamp but maybe I can compare it to the purple nightmare's preamp one day
That's a killer pedal! And I love how you demonstrated it with it on and off...super slick!
Awesome demo man! Like always! Can’t wait to get my dirty hands on this one!❤
I have their Purple Nightmare tube pre amp which is amazing. This sounds great too.

Can't decide on this vs the heavy menace... Both sound so good 😮
Okay yep. It didn’t disappoint as predicted.
that sounds sick, if they made it a solid state head or full on floor amp, I'm sold, I'll take 2 lmao.
Insanely good sound.
Pedal sounds great !
This sounds like it has that low mid sag of a tubes in a preamp completely intact. I'm sure it feels amazing to play through.
Exactly! Feels great to play through!
I ordered mine at midday, but I don’t really planned to plug it on my Purple Nightmare 6L6+KT88 but rather as a preamp on my KSR PA50 6L6.
This song sounds so heavy and awesome lol
I dig those knobs!
I like them too! I believe the regular ones have black knobs
Bro I f*king love solid state distortion
It's dope! This sounds and feels like tubes though so that's even better imho
Sounds good dam.
Question you have to take only one you chose lichtlaerm audio gehenna or driftwood hatchet and why?

Thanks, when was this?
Sorry to hear about that btw... that sucks so much!
Sounds great! Too bad they didn’t make the crunch channel switchable.

@@danomnihility2453 the real amps are magic!
So this not just a somewhat stripped down version of the purple nightmare preamp pedal?
Damn. That pedal sounds really cool. I wish it didn't have the boost though. I just prefer to choose my own + sometimes I want pedals inbetween my main distortion and my boost (like if you want to stack it with an hm2 style or muff style pedal).
The boost is optional of course

Dual rec is bases on the SLO100 like the 5150
🔥

does your purple nightmare had the midi option?
Did you try it on the pre-amp mode directly to the power amp ? Which way does it sound better?
I tried both in the video
@@SonicDriveStudio Oh maybe I missed that part. Will watch the video again.
Going on a hot vday date with my wife in like 3 minutes. Gonna have to wait to watch but this is one I’m totally stoked for!!!!
No one cares!
