What are your thoughts on this amp?
Thankgod it has a gate all amps should have a gate now imo
I have two Redseven amps. Do you think this amp would stand up to the amazing clarity and note definition in a Redseven amp? I still can't say the name, but I want that amp!
Im actually ordering one . How do you like it ?
@@shane-x4485 freaking love it!
@@josephrusso7069 it can do that but it will have its own unique character, just as the R7s!
Man, it sounds like a refined Marshall tone that all other brands tried to nail, but they never could. Perfect!!!
Love this comment! It actually has way more Marshall-DNA than typical German and yet most people compare it to the other German brands as we are from Germany ourselves^^
@@lichtlaermaudio Nice to hear this, man! Congrats for your awesome job!!!
I already knew this amp was a monster, but bruh, when you switched to vintage mode with the Les Paul i was shocked to love that tone as much as i did immediately. What an amazing amp. Will have to own one one day. Amazing video my friend!
Outstanding demo! Thanks for the shoutout too, mate!
Thanks buddy!
I don't think I've been so excited to hear an amp since the mid-1990s Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier Trem-O-Verb.
This is an excellent review every demo I’ve seen so far has its sounding extremely bright
Thanks, glad you like it!
Awesome!
You see, now, if we’re talking the SE Founder’s Edition (great amp, btw) price point, I’d favour spending it on this for the wider features, flexibility and even the ability to maintain the amp in terms of biasing access.
About goddamn time!!!!
Looks and sounds nice. 😮
Still saving money to buy that one Tube Amp. Time...
I'm so happy to be on the second batch!
Can you make a vidéo about the defeat switch with a preamp like Synergy or NDSP?
And a quick vidéo about the midi FS use?
Awesome demo the amp is amazing
So yes, god damn I want this amp.
I’m on the list.
Buuuuut you keep playing that E1 and I’ve never wanted an Explorer style…until seeing that Red Reign 🤘🏼🤘🏼
It sounds excellent!
Another fantastic set of demos and riffs! Sounds super flexible. The cleans are both fat and sparkly, the OD channel can do a good Marshall-esque thing, as well as a more saturated metal tone. Amazing stuff.
The defeat swich is another nice feature. And programmable footswitch = painless tone saving. I dig that!
Thanks! And yeah, the features are amazing!
One of the best new amps out right now!
Sick riffs dude!
Thanks!
14:44 im sold
One of the things I love about your channel is the song parts you write for the demos. This riff is brutal.
Great demo of a great amp.
Thank you! I wrote 8 songs for this video, it was a lot of work but I love it too much to stop doing it like that. Gear inspires me!
@@SonicDriveStudio
For sure and they all sound great. Really gives a great sample of an amp in various settings (guitars, pickups etc). Your channel really has a great format for reviews.
But that opening riff…. Thats a banger
I’ve seen a few demos of this amp and I’m now obsessed. They put up some tonex captures and they are amazing! I can’t stop
Such a killer amp! Those tones are insane and that first riff knocked me off of my chair!!!!!
Haha thanks my friend!
21:23 is a standout riff for me. 👍This amp sounds really good but I lean toward more angry mids, grind and swirl to throw out all the buzzwords lol
Well fuck me to tears!!!
Any chance you'd do some QC captures of this amp? Would love to try it out
The perfect amp!...Just way out of my price range 🙁.
Holy shit! All your amps sound great but none of them is as musical as this one.
Daniel is a wizard! :)
Here's the deal man here's the 411 Daniel is the real deal he is a rare breed. And that's it. Anyone who has any of those pedals of his will know. The Gehenna is one of the greatest pedals you will ever have guaranteed. That thing is on another level altogether. I can only imagine what that amp is going to do
I own EVH 5150 6L6 50W (blue channel is my favorite) and Orange rocker 30 (fx loop mod). Do you think this could replace these two?! And thanks for great videos! Cheers from Finland!
Just got the Tonex and found the capture on tonet! OMG what an insane sounding amp this is. Very impressed!
Loved the video. Have you ever played a Spawn Quick Rod amp?
Thanks! I have not...
Killer sounding amp, would also like to hear the Sloane Amplification Anteres
Damnit Jon... I dont have enough money for this amp, youre making the GAS real. Gonna go cry into my EVH 5150iii.
Been looking for an amp that I could do a gig without the help of any drive pedals if need be. Love to demo one.
Man you have me so close to getting the rockerverb 50 mkiii but now this amp is stellar too…. Which one do you think is the best, is the rockerverb still up there? I play like power funk rock grunge lol
The Rockerverb is great but it can't beat the Prometheus
hey man what speakers were the IRs emulating in this vid?
MIDI along with their Defeat switch and the same hardware as their Noise gate all integrated into a single amp is why I love Lichtlaerm audio and their products
thanks, man
@@danielringl8501 if this is Daniel from Lichtlaerm I sent you a email yesterday about how to purchase one of these amps? I’d love to pair it with your phaser pedal I purchased
great video Jon , was very curious to see how this sits in your mixes, totally kills, tons of clarity and gain on tap if needed , so glad Daniel released this amp, very very cool 🙌
Thanks! Daniel is a wizard and I feel grateful to be friends with him!
Amazing! Great demo and great playing as always. ❤
yeah. this amp is great
HHHHOOOLLLLYYYY SH*T BROTHER, WHAT AN AWESOME RIFF!!!!!! I am laughing by myself because I am at only 1:51 of your vid. 'WOW' is an understatement.
Edit: OMFG your riffs are awesome man. I am at 16:28 and the sound is fabulous, but your riffs...
Edit: the WHOLE video is crazy good. I am a follower since a few years and many of your vids hit home for me, this one here is one of them. Bravo!
Ok, another edit: I want this amp.
Thanks so much!
you make it sound so good haha.
glad you're happy with your amp!
really didn't like the amp in other demos, especially with the LL Fane Speaker. with those it was extremely harsh and brittle.
Guess that’s mainly how it’s dialed in: the Fanes have a rather restrained high end and a big bottom end and the amp itself is also voiced on the smoother side - if you check the premier guitar video you’ll hear them dialed in by myself and without anything else added! Both John and Kyle like brighter tones - Kyle has the presence fully craned throughout his video for example which will make any amp sound harsh 😅
@@lichtlaermaudio Cranking the presence like that is exactly what you want in a mix, IMO. Especially for modern metal production. That's where the aggression, energy, and clarity comes from. I'm confused about the person above calling the LCFR speaker harsh/brittle. I thought the LCFR sounded much, much darker/smoother than the V30 in the other demos people have done.
Yep - it is indeed. But it’s in general surprising what people seem to hear: I read “too dull”, “too scooped”, “too harsh” and “too mid-heavy” on the same videos 😅 (generally, not only on ours btw).
The LCFR is voiced as a contrast to the V30 on purpose: if people want a V30 they get a V30. If they want to fill in the frequencies that a V30 is not covering - there’s a few options and I’d put the LCFR there as well.
And as you said: the Prometheus is voiced to cut through mixes - we bounced off a lot of ideas with producers and studio engineers to get the voicing to sit well in a mix.
aaaaarrrrgghhhh Yeahhhhh.....:)
Well, that's an impressive machine!
I think i don't even want to know the price...
For a handmade boutique amp with that feature set we’re actually on the cheaper side 😊
@@lichtlaermaudio please put it on your website with some estimated price ranges soon, i'm interested in that amp but it will probably take a while until i can actually buy.
Every tone sounds amazing, I’m seriously considering getting this amp. Also, amazing songs dude. Thanks for this. 🤘🏼
What is the price range of this amp in U.S. dollars? Sounds amazing!
It's best to email lichtlaerm audio about all the infos
At around the 17 minute mark reminds me a lot of Gojira, is it yours? It's a badass series of riffs either way! Good job on the demo, man.
Thanks!
Wow, now that's mindblowingly versatile!
That’s honestly the best amp I have ever heard. I want one
18:05 sounds awesome. That foot switch on top of the amp - does that come with the amp? Or have i paused the video too early?😂🤣
Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
You get one with the amp
@@SonicDriveStudio yeah i saw later in the video!! I knew I should have waited 😂🤣😂🤣
Have you yet tried the London Power Scaling mod on a metal amp? This lets you control the power tube gain which is a game changer for bedroom levels in my opinion!
And on top of that this mod increases tube life
Could you imagine two ran in stereo 😳🤯🤯
Did that in the workshop before stopping the batch - it’s lots of fun as you can control serveral of them with one footswitch by connecting the MIDI thru-jacks to the inputs of the next one 😊
That amp sounds great, very refined and looks like it can do it all. I´m very curious about the tube combinations, I think it´s a great idea. Btw, that riffs with the Shecter sounded pretty sick 🔥
Thanks!
Damn this thing is a Swiss Army knife. Love it. Covers all the bases while also having its own distinct character. That certain hairiness/dryness to the breakup might be in part due to the KT88s I think, so good choice on your part!
Best demo yet - really showed the wide range of its capabilities. I was surprised at how it nailed the classic rock tone.
Whoa whoa whoa…does the footswitch just store the position of the switches (gate, defeat, bright, etc) or does it save knob settings (EQ, volume, cut) as well? And channel? …I’ll look it up why am I asking you lol
Thanks! :)
Knob settings are not saved as digital potentiometers come with a lot of negative side effects: noise, zipper noise (you can hear when they change sound: sounds a bit like tearing off Velcro 😬) and they don’t come in the resistances I need for this design.
We toyed around with the idea but decided not to in the end as the downsides outweighed the benefits 🙂
@@lichtlaermaudio right on. Sounds like you made the right choice. Art on the footswitch is killer - more good choices. Nobody does that. 🤘🏼
And thanks for the reply!!!
Want some "classic" riffs? My dude has them. What about the tones? Haves then two 🤘🤘🤘
Wow, this amp seems very bright. Sometimes a bit harsh to my liking, which i was amazed by since you seem to have the treble and presence below 12 o clock. Maybe also the IR's used? I don't know, in any case, can't wait to try the amp myself. I like the tones a lot apart from that. I like me some clarity.
You can dial it in any way you like. To me it doesn't sound harsh in any shape or form though... what are you listening on?
Dial it down or use a different IR. I’d rather have that range and then dial down anything that I find is too unpleasant. Personally, I thought it sounded great but I get what you’re saying.
@@ordohereticus3427 like I said, I hear no harshness whatsoever but that's what the controls are for. As you can hear in the dialing in bit, they are very responsive
Yeah I must say I'm not hearing any excessive brightness or harshness on my usual listening setup
Guys I mean well, but some of you might want to check your monitoring systems...
That was a great and detailed presentation of a monster amp. Lichtlaerm Audio has built a wonderful amp. I really enjoyed the sounds!
Great! 😊🤘
Thanks! And yeah, LA did a tremendous job! A lot of love and care went into this
Great video my friend! I was shocked at how well this amp got those Marshall type tones. It looks like this amp is great for just about an genre.
I'd love to get my hands on one at some point 😁
Cheers dude!
Amazing sounds AND riffs! Good job!
Wait until you hear a Mezzabarba
I'm waiting....
What a beast of an amp and such an awesome demo! Very well done my friend! So proud!
Thanks buddy!
Great video ! And your riffs are awesome man !
Thanks!
Wicked riff! Love it!
Sounds killer! Crazy good riffs! Well done!
Thank you!
Always wonder what bass/amp/plugin or virtual bass do u use in all your videos? It’s never in the description and really curious! Thanks and this is the best sounding amp out right now and amazing video!!!
I use my Sire V7 bass into Helix Native with an OwnHammer bass IR. Some mix processing after like compression etc
@@SonicDriveStudio awesome I figured you used a bass but couldn’t remember. I totally forgot I have Helix Native and need to start using it again. Been obsessed with Otto ll ll, Clairvoyant amp suite, and Tone X I totally don’t use any of the others anymore. I still also need to update the Audio Assault ReAmp 2 cuz they made it much better! If you have checked out the other 3 besides Tone X I highly recommend Clairvoyant first. Otto is great for drop F and lower. Anyways thanks for the super fast response!
Thanks for the demo! Seems like a great amp! But it also seems like it will be impossible to get based on what I assume will be a very high price and a very limited supply.
They're not super hard to get and the price could be worse! Why not email them to ask about it?
@@SonicDriveStudio haha, okay, thanks for the reply! I'm just a grumpy old guy with no money to buy amps right now haha. If I had the dough I'd def be emailing them!
sick riffing!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Many thanks!
What tube combo did you go with? Am I mistaken or was several of the high gain clips recorded on vintage setting? The toggle looked like it was flipped down for much of the video. Great work man!
KT88 and EL34
Vintage was only used for the crunch part. The switch doesn't hold the position
The vintage/modern is a momentary-switch as the two voicings are programmable as well 🙂
@@lichtlaermaudio Very cool. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Plan to be in on an order before long.
Nice demo! Those mixes were great.
Thanks dude!
stunning amp save for the white tolex, looks like you had it in a rack of sorts. they need to sort that out asap!
How do you mean? The tolex is good as new
@@SonicDriveStudio aesthetics, theotherjohnbrowne has it in black and looks super slick. personal preference though
@@SonicDriveStudio didnt mean that it looked damaged, just that it looked like it was a brown amp in a while rack.
Hey !! Great Demo ! can you tell us what power tubes you've chosen?
Thanks! I talk about this in the video but it's KT88 and EL34
@@SonicDriveStudio sorry, I must have missed the info... tks! It's good to know
Wicked riffs on a killer amp \m/
Thanks!
Nice but too narrow too narrow sound
Narrow??
@@justsomerandomguyman I'm a girl, but yes, something like that, thanks 👌
It's so interesting how tone is so subjective. I hear a very broad and fat sound. What are you guys listening on anyway?
@@SonicDriveStudioOld n good Tannoy system 800
Sounds like a Marshall with a little 5150 thrown in, cleans kinda sound like a fender amp, pretty nice.
Absolutely _barbaric_.
If only you had played it through a "real" cab so I can accurately hear it through my cell phone's mono speaker, then it would be a true demo...
😏
Haha legend!
