I've been speculating that if the B4 and C4 are using the same panel then people may as well just get the B4 because it's the same thing just with "more aggressive burn protection" (AKA less bright), as evidenced here when the image retention fades first on the B4 just because the firmware doesn't drive HDR as hard.
Look at the sub-pixel layout, I have a B7 and can say this set is completely covered by burn in. I would be very careful with the B series.

Another great video! Think knowing the professional tone mapping option is very weak bringing back color on the C4 is fairly big. Hey nate that is what I have been saying as well. Especially the nice lg green push. From everything everybody has said I would say that they all have their own tone mapping schemes, and they weren't really comparing the G4 in C4 in a vaccume side by side to make sure literally everything is better on the G4 and perhaps gave the c4 a little competitive bump. It may show what they can leave on the table. Oh has anyone after all these vids seen the comparievly odd blue on samsungs? There are scenes out there where it is all but deleted like one gold plate where the Samsung finds a little blue on a small edge and the LG both picked it up and expressed it all around so including places whith zero on the Samsung. Also some oddness with blue skies I see but havent put my finger on it. Over time one sees first what its doing which might be okay but then can see what it is not doing with more and more repetitive patterns of almost static behaviors.
As far as the highlight clipping on the S90D goes, or on any of these sets for that matter, that to me is a VERY minor detail since 98% of people aren’t going to notice at all. I don’t really notice it on my S90D at all. It’s bright, but I’ve also never been one to crank the contrast to the max, and with that tv you don’t really need to. I have it set to 45-46, and it looks fantastic. Just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for your video! Currently in a bit of a pickle.. I live in Europe and was going to by a Samsung 48'' S90D before coming across your video stating that it for that size, the S90D wasn't actually QD-OLED! I often see this being compared to the C4 and C3 - but since reviewers don't take into account the WOLED tech. of the 48'' S90D, it always comes out as the clear winner. Does this change when you compare it like-for-like technology WOLED?

B4 is in the lower range than C4 and S90D. C4 and S90D are upper middle range.

Yes they do, it makes your $3500 TV look like a $300 Hisense TV with that ugly matte finish. Not a fan of One Connect Box either. And the model without the One Connect Box (S90D) has inferior contrast, so it's an easy win for the G4 this year. Not excited about Sony's Bravia 9, sounds too bright and probably overpriced.
Im thinking about changing my lg c1 for samsung s90d. I know s90d is better, but is it worth thr investment? Or thats a change but nothing so big that I should spend my money?
I can’t decide that for you everyone’s reasons for upgrading are different typically going up in size always helps the upgrade process feel better.

I'd be interested to see how the B4 compares to the C1. Does it have better brightness, picture quality and motion handling?
I would imagine it be better than the C1 or very close to it for brightness, B4 seems to do some things better in regards to color banding over the C4. I think LGs with real cinema options are best for motion B4 does have it.
@@TechWithKG interesting. I would never have thought the B series would outperform the C series especially in the same year. Normally they use the older processor, so you would think colour banding would be the same or worse. Maybe it's a different panel, who knows.
@@cun7us Same never imagined it, but its not the panel B4 doesn't have a special type of panel its just your run of the mill WOLED panel. This year LG made a new A8 processor and it seems it got a lot of the fine tuning the A11 got just in a lighter less capable package, but the A9 just got slight tweaks and seems that it didn't get some of the things that fixed issues, its definitely odd the B series does things better than the C at times this year. The C is definitely brighter though its close to the G2 in that regard though it doesn't have a heat sink like the G2.

In movie mode S90D black are more bright than C4 .
So the contrast seems better on the C4 ...
The contrast of the butterfly and the plant are just 100 times better on the C4 but the Color 100 times better on the S90D .
But i think its possible to decrease the black level on the S90D to get better contrast !

What’s your budget, main use case for this and what options are you considering?
Main use would be 4k dvd watching and normal TV shows, with an hour or 2 of daily gaming on ps5
I like the pure white of the Samsung mountains at 2:16 and better contrast of the deer of the Samsung at 2:35
I think I prefer picture and colour pop of the Samsung even though there is a slight pink hue
I'd be happy with up to 1,500 British pounds, the G4 might be a bit expensive but might consider it in time if price come down,

@@TechWithKG thought I’d replied but may have gone missing, main use would be for general tv show watching , 4k DVD collection and around 1 or 2 hours of ps5 gaming budget about 1500 pounds was considering s90 d as like the tone better in some of the pictures ,was also thinking maybe the s90d c4 or the g3 that’s why I’ve been watching different videos about them.
I really don’t think you can go wrong with the S90D especially with HDR and gaming, if your main usage is regular TV shows and broadcast I really think the Sony Bravia 8 or A80L could also be a good fit with that usage.

Do u have thoughts on the B4 vs the QM7? The 48inch B4 is on sale for 799 and the 55inQM7 is 699? What would u do?
QM7 will be good for a bright room but won't be nearly as good in the dark, but the B4 will be amazing in a dark room it just will struggle with daytime environments with sun or lights hitting the room.
@@TechWithKG thank you. I love your channel. This would mostly be for tv and movie watching as I never play games. So my dilemma is that. I will also be using the Apple TV 4K as my main OS. I’m thinking the oled just because. This will be my first upgrade since the LG 6300 from 2017 that’s 48inches. I was attracted to the 55/65 inch. Going between Hisense u7n and TCL q7 or qm7 but then the deal for the LG happened.
Side topic from all this... how is camera overheating technology not fixed yet?
With that being a current flaw, how are they releasing new products that continue to overheat... kind of sad pityful engineering. They gotta try harder.
Most cinema cameras have fans so it’s fixed there, but some of these consumer cameras like this Sony I’m using are really not meant for running for a full 3 hours straight. It’s definitely come a long way from where we were though, some canons overheated in 15-20 min of recording.
consumer cameras overheating in 4k is something normal. If you can't live with that you'll have to pay a ton more
Is the C4 with DTM ON brighter than S90D with maxed out settings?
Only outside of game mode barely the same price as S90D inside game mode S90D is much brighter most of the time

@TeckWithKG How would you describe the B4s screen coating? is it different from the C4? Rtings sad it was different from the standard glossy woled coating but still categorized it as glossy.
It is semi gloss still very much glossy but not as much as C4 think it’s a similar coating to A80L from Sony.

If buying right now I’d go S90C personally it’s just not a big enough difference in picture quality for the price. The S90D does have better OS and better out of box HDR color than S90C if you think that difference is worth it it’s gonna vary depending on what you desire from your TV.

Buddy, you are overthinking this. The S90D in gaming does destroy the LG, BUT the LG does not destroy the S90 in everything else. What are you smoking? DV is an overrated joke. Motion, upscaling, and whatever overrated term you want to use the LG and S90 are very dam similar

S90C color brightness and brightness overall is better and game mode is way better if you are a gamer.

I agree with KG, stating that if your into gaming, get the S90D/S90C. However, its not of an easy decision like that in real life for the average Joe, looking for a tv that can do both, great or decent. Hardcore gamers, yes, the S90D makes sense. But for most of us the percentages for Movie watching/Gaming is like 60/40 or 70/30. Not the other way around. So "just get the S90D, its better for gaming" does not always work, for people that are looking for a new tv to buy and are going to lay down their hard earned money.
Now, in a perfect life, LG could have fixed the gaming mode for the C4, but they havent for some reason, eventhough they are touting "we are the one to go to when it comes to a great gaming experience". Well, the C4 looks like crap in Game Mode and we cant really pick the S90D if we are mostly going to watch movies, cause its over brightend and/or saturated, does not come with DV or DTS:X, has a lesser processing than the LG and comes with quality control issues. Do you see the problem here ... Are folks willing to splash more money for the G4 perhaps 🤔
