Now I'm more confused than ever. So with bright windows in the background, it might make it unwatchable. Sigh. I guess it's a BF buy with the understanding it might be terrible in my room and I'll have to return it. Not ideal.
I am not having this issue at all. I replaced an LG C1 with an S95D 77-inch in a bright room with floor-to-ceiling windows on 3 sides, and the S95D is a dream. One of the big reasons I replaced the C1 was because when the sun was shining in the screen was like a mirror and I wasn't seeing much. The S95D is perfectly watchable and in fact looks brilliant.
Thanks for the comparison. Very helpful. One comment, the Samsung website shows both the S95D AND the S90D come with the One Connect box. You said One Connect was unique to the S95D. I'm curious if that is a mistake on their website.

0:32 "Why?" A. Reduce life expectancy by adding more failure points and unnecessary parts? B. Shoving the remaining connect boxes from our LCD lines into the buyers throat instead of recycling them? C. Intentionally pushing a proven defect part into uninformed users so some of them give us the benefit of the doubt and repurchase next year in hopes of a fix? D. Free griller Box, so you can cook your stake on it while consuming your favorite media? E. Eye Care feature, take a free black screen every few minutes of TV usage to relax your eyes? F. Always bet on peoples ignorance, some people think it must be a premium feature since it costs more right? RIGHT?? Correct answer = ALL of the above. Bonus Feature: Portability and low weight. A major plus since we all carry around our TVs in our everyday life! I suggest a bundled Power Bank to sweeten the deal!
When will we find out if the S90D has the S95D panel? I'm guessing we won't know until December or later but do you have any ideas on when they might switch it?
Returning s95d and getting a g4. I tried really hard to like it, but samsung will not let me. Its always blurry. Not even close to as sharp as my cx. There are too many other negative things about the user experience and about samsung themselves to try and overcome anything other than the best display in the world. Its not. The processing sucks and it needs to be hacked or calibrated to track eotf properly. And im clipping at 1370 nits in windows hdr calibration in hgig game mode. Anyway. Its blurry. Its film grain on 1000, at all times. I tried really really hard to like it but when earc doesnt work and samsung tells me "not all devices are compatible" about my $7000 processor from 2023, i lost it. In the time ive been typing this..fomo is still doing a tv speaker comparison. What the...

Not a lot the d is brighter they say but 200 more I think the d has a stand c doesn't not for sure on that I bought a d for the close out price of a c at video only
One question that I thought of is since the S95D appears to have better audio processing but worse sound due to its thinness that limit the built-in speakers, will the S95D make much better use of a paired Samsung sound bar system like a Samsung HW-Q990D than an S90D would due to the former’s better audio processing?
Certain people like matte screens, it’s obviously a small percentage as just about every display out there, computer tablet, phone, etc. is a glossy finish. Our phones are used every day outside with sunlight on them all the time and no one complains about the gloss screen.
I’ll never buy a Samsung tv again. I had a horrible experience with mine constantly losing connectivity, they’re cheaply made and they push out updates that neuter the picture. I’m sticking with LG
I picked up the S90D last week, and have found that although the picture looks amazing 95% of the time, it’s not quite as crisp and smooth while watching certain content in both SDR and HDR as I was expecting it to be (motion is a bit juddery as well). I played with the settings, and am fortunately having it calibrated tomorrow. Will that make a difference in sorting out these minor issues? Is there anything else I can do myself to really bring out the best in this tv?
anti-judder motion should be at 3 to 4 to eliminate stutter while minimizing soap opera; filmmaker is the best mode more often than not (other than Dynamic for sports) and the 2 settings you can play with is Static (dark room) or Active tone mapping with Contrast Enhancer normally OFF in the dark, but you can play with Low to Medium for a little more pop. Shadow Detail is 0 at default but you can decrease it by -2 for deeper blacks in a dark room.
@@Icipher4 I'm SO much happier with it now. I have the occasional motion issue from time to time, but beyond that it looks amazing with the settings I have programmed in. I'll admit that it's not the tv you want to buy if you just plan on using the out of box settings because they are pretty awful. Sony will still have the best out of box, set it and forget it kind of settings, but when properly calibrated the S90D is a tank. It's back up to regular price right now, but if you can find a deal on it in the near future, I highly recommend getting it
@@Whitewolf_1186 That's awesome and I'm glad to hear it. I'm thinking of buying one soon. Did you do a full calibration or did you just really tinker with the settings on screen? Also, do you mind sharing what was a good price when you bought? I'm looking at the 77-in.
@@Icipher4 I had it fully calibrated because the price of it along with everything I bought was dirt cheap, so I figured why not? lol. I also did my own modifications to it to fit my personal tastes. I ended up getting the 65 inch for around $1900 Canadian. Right now it retails for $3300, but pretty much all the upper mid range OLEDs are the same price right now. As I understand it, you said that a bright point light source would make the S95D unwatchable. But with that condition, would the S90D also be unwatchable? Did the anti-glare treatment not solve that light-source problem, or did it create or magnify that problem? Thanks.
S90D will just limit the reflection to that bright point rather than diffuse it outward (“magnify”?) so S90D more watchable but no TV is good with that glare just that the S95D made it worse
Everyone talking about samsung QD-OLED but how is the motion on samsung i hear its bad and LG OLEDs dont have this problem. Also using matte screens thats a joke along with you have to keep the samsung oled offline due to samsung botching the oled making it worse But ya. Content creators they dont talk to much about the motion but most people say its bad. I had a samsung oddy neo G7 32" and the motion was bad on it as well.. Just samsung has issues with motion just saying ----- All that peak brightness and highlights dont matter if the rest of the TV is meh.
Absolutely not. The power supply voltages from an S95C One Connect Box and S95D One Connect Box are different, with the high voltage power rail on the S95C having a higher voltage than the S95D’s high voltage rail. AllAboutTKK tried a One Connect Box swap and fried the mismatched panel and box fried.
I'm speaking on behalf of those for whom money is no object who want the best image. No 77-inch size for third-generation QD-OLED? Could it be that maybe the 77-inch second-generation QD-OLEDs didn't do well because larger brighter QLED LCDs were selling for a lower price?
@@stopthefomo I'm glad to be wrong and am glad there IS a 77-inch third-generation QD-OLED out there. I hope Sony carries on with Samsung Display's QD-OLED technology so third-generation QD-OLED lovers could also get Dolby Vision.
@@Menorahdude I have a Dolby Vision compatible, Full Array Local Dimming Sony non mini LED. Compared to HDR10, I love Dolby Vision's clearer distinction between various luminance levels up and down the gray scale. In case you saw my previous complaints about Dolby Vision months ago, I wasn't fully aware that disc authorers want a display to reach peak brightness in some movies, while they don't want a display to reach peak brightness for other movies. Now that I'm aware of that and appreciate its abilities, I'll either only watch Dolby Vision in dark rooms, put up with the scenes which are difficult to watch in high ambient light, or mix SDR with the BT.2020 color space in high ambient light.
Seems like Fomo has a controversal take on the anti glare screen and I am reading feedback from users and it seems he is the only one with this experience. Then again apart from Fomo who else is going to put their TV in front of a floodlight.
Samsung needs to stop mixing panels. I prefer the glossy finish, so S95D is out. But I also can't stand WOLED and want the latest QD OLED if possible. So this year I wouldn't be able to buy a Samsung?! The S85D should be the model where they sell leftover and crappy panels, the S90D should be the S95D without the matte anti glare coating. What is the S85D for, if the S90D already fulfills that purpose? Also, how are reviewers and customers dealing with this nonsense... so, you can buy the S90C if it is 77", then it is as good as or better than the S95C. But if it is 55 or 65", it is a different, not as good TV. And with the S90D the review only applies to 55" and 65" models, but not really, because you could get a different generation panel. It doesn't apply at all to the 48 and 83" models, they are completely different. To see how they perform, refer to the LG C3 review. I mean, what the hell? This alone should disqualify Samsung.
I thoroughly disagree with your assessment on the glare free panel, I held a spotlight to both side by side and the 90 was unwatchable, but I could still clearly see the 95. Lamps, pot lights, etc completely cut out.
the s95d sucks ass a matte panel? really that negates the point of an oled. black in a lit room is grey blacks. i used to buy samsung but they ruined their best oled.
I remember that I had to put my KS8000 in Game Mode to watch movies due to that random occasional skip in the motion. Drove me crazy. I have a S95B and it does not have that same problem. I should note that sometimes when a scene starts from a blank screen, there might be a slight studder. I am super sensitive so most will probably will not notice it. I watch stuff without interpolation as it still creates occasional artifacts.
Thanks! I keep hearing about it. Cause? Frame matching, maybe? Native apps only? Just want to have a tv with the least annoying quirks(I know none are perfect)
dolby vision is important factor when it comes to purchasing my next tv , which btw it widly supported tv shows , movies and gaming compared to hdr10+ that is close to none existence. Samsung is just hard headed for not willing to pay few $ to pay for its license . they make great panels though but these panels are also available and better used like sony .
I’ve compared DV at length with regular HDR10, minimal differences and more often than not indistinguishable but may also be less accurate out of the box if not LG

I'd like to see what sony does with the s95d panel. Samsung make great hardware but they're processing just isn't up to Sony/Panasonic/Philips standards. Also the Panasonic z95A with the LG G4 panel will be fantastic
Now I'm more confused than ever. So with bright windows in the background, it might make it unwatchable. Sigh. I guess it's a BF buy with the understanding it might be terrible in my room and I'll have to return it. Not ideal.
Yep
I am not having this issue at all. I replaced an LG C1 with an S95D 77-inch in a bright room with floor-to-ceiling windows on 3 sides, and the S95D is a dream. One of the big reasons I replaced the C1 was because when the sun was shining in the screen was like a mirror and I wasn't seeing much. The S95D is perfectly watchable and in fact looks brilliant.
direct sunlight is terrible on all QD-OLED. LG OLEDs handle direct sunlight better.
Thanks for the comparison. Very helpful. One comment, the Samsung website shows both the S95D AND the S90D come with the One Connect box. You said One Connect was unique to the S95D. I'm curious if that is a mistake on their website.
Thanks a lot. Although maybe mentioned a bit in the video, what can you say about the details of each tv? Is the 95d more soft? Is it bad as sometimes mentioned in other videos? And what do you think of adding the soundbar Q990D to the 95D tv? Is that a good choice?
Hi KG
1) If Sony A80L is compared with S90D , for movie/sports watching which tv will you prefer considering both might be similarly priced in July 2024 in India.
2) How can I check whether in India S90D 55" is QD OLED as you raised concerned for few countries?
Hey I’m trying to decide between 48 inch S90D & the 50 inch QN90D both around £1300 I’ll mostly be using it for PS5, Switch gaming & watching movies I’m aware of the Woled/QD-OLED situation but I’m still wondering wether the S90D or QN90D is better for me.
The S95D, to my ears, had a tin can sound
0:32 "Why?"
Bonus Feature:
Portability and low weight.
A major plus since we all carry around our TVs in our everyday life!
I suggest a bundled Power Bank to sweeten the deal!
When will we find out if the S90D has the S95D panel? I'm guessing we won't know until December or later but do you have any ideas on when they might switch it?
95D audio is louder especially on highs but 95D has better bass and a litter warmer.
What the...
I want to return my S90D for a LG C4 I’m not a fan of the processing it feels artificial. I can’t believe I made such a bad decision. Hoping I can return it now.
Thank you for clarifying for us, the masses
Good choice the s95D is way more premium tv overall, alot brighter aswell 🎉
Slightly like he mentioned
It’s any huge difference between s95c and 95d
Not a lot the d is brighter they say but 200 more I think the d has a stand c doesn't not for sure on that I bought a d for the close out price of a c at video only
One question that I thought of is since the S95D appears to have better audio processing but worse sound due to its thinness that limit the built-in speakers, will the S95D make much better use of a paired Samsung sound bar system like a Samsung HW-Q990D than an S90D would due to the former’s better audio processing?
GOOD INFORMATION ..... THANK YOU
Does S9xD support Auracast (and therefore LE Audio)? Or is it just limited to Neo QLED 8K & Micro LEDs?
Quick question,,, are the 24 models twice as as good as the 23? Cause their twice the price?
Is nobody going to mention the panel lottery in the S90D???
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Certain people like matte screens, it’s obviously a small percentage as just about every display out there, computer tablet, phone, etc. is a glossy finish. Our phones are used every day outside with sunlight on them all the time and no one complains about the gloss screen.
Phones now get to 1200 or 1600 or even 2000 or 2400 nits full screen which can fight thre glare. Not feasible for oled TVs right now
S90D or S90C, and why?
I’ll never buy a Samsung tv again. I had a horrible experience with mine constantly losing connectivity, they’re cheaply made and they push out updates that neuter the picture. I’m sticking with LG
Same here, s95c had 4 faults. Samsung called me at 6am 5 times. Its gambling buying their trash, never again
The fact that updates ruin the tv make me hate samsung
What are your thoughts on the S90D now that you've had more time?
The 77 inch would likely be around $4500-5k. If you can stand to wait till Black Friday, I'm sure around a grand will be shaved off that price
@stopthefomo looking for a quick answer. I am looking to replace an older tv in my bedroom since I got out of the hospital. I'm either looking at the Samsung S90J, LG C3 or budget tv Neo Qled QN90C. This is strictly for gaming and streaming some netflix. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
so the S90D is a S90C repacked? the S95D barely improved from last year, kinda Samsung dropped the ball here, what about power consumption? I know they are power hungry to reach the full white, what about the smudges difficulty to clean? are there at least improvements on these regards?
Why in your opinion the s95s don't improved much from s95c?
was watching on my brand new 55 inch S90D a tv series on Amazon prime and ive had some heavy stutter seems some preset like movie mode and other would have some better smoother experience... not entirely sure which settings exactly mitigate stuttering on a tv show that fairly modern
go to Custom motion and set Anti-Judder to 3 that's where I have it at on mine
@@stopthefomo thx for the info.
@@stopthefomo btw compared to the G4 i had omg this s90D has crazy colors its a night and day difference. im glad ive returned that G4 the colors pop like its nuts and ive barely started a game on my ps5 with it and the difference is also night and day specially compared to my old samsung tv from 2016 XD
Your commercials are too much for me. If you need more High tonemapping on S90D, just tune your TV, it is not any problem. Just for FOMO :)
Question for fomo or anyone that has an S95D, or maybe any QD-Oled, I just purchased the S95D, coming from a A9G Sony Oled, and I don't know if it's normal or not, but I see red around white text on dark backgrounds similar to an old CRT gun setup that isn't properly aligned, mainly around the bottom of the text, normal or not?
@stopthefomo what Do you think of the samsung 55 inch QNS92D? my old samsung is dying from 2016, its currently on sale seems like the S95D minus the Ai chip that from previously i guess... anyways compared to my old Samsung 55Ju6400 i assume the new OLed S92D will absolutely destroy it, i just went to see it in store it looks amazing. or should i invest in S90D?
Thx you for any help or Suggestion FOMO :)
Do you have settings for the s90d?
Amazon has the 77 inch S90C for $2K..is that a good deal?
Because I forced the hdr of s90d to nerf
It's not worth buying.
Deuterium is the important thing. Hopefully the s90d has it.
Deuterium is in all types of panels that are used to produce the S90D. This includes WOLED, Gen 2 QD-OLED, and Gen 3 QD-OLED.
@@stopthefomo Thank you. I understand now.
Only glossy panel. My G4 with 83 " coming soon...
Great comparison. But I figure when it comes to sound and you are a real enthusiast you don´t bother at all with TV sound, since it is crap anyways.
Thanks
Does anyone have any recommendations for a calibrator in the Los Angeles area. S95D
I preferred s95d sound. Not a basehead.
I wonder why Samsung does not make S95D in 48" and 50"
Maybe just add a sub woofer why do you need a full sound bar
S90D (55") for $2500 CAD
OR
S90C (65") for $2400 CAD
OR
LG C3 (65") 2100$ CAD
OR
LG G3 (55") 2300$ CAD
I really can't decide between them all...
I'd go with the s90c 65 inch
화질에는 차이 없는거야?형 그리고 SD95는 빛반사 있어?
S95C period blood

I'm ready to return my S90D and get the C4. The S90D looks so bad, my C2 blows away the S90D.
Everyone talking about samsung QD-OLED but how is the motion on samsung i hear its bad and LG OLEDs dont have this problem. Also using matte screens thats a joke along with you have to keep the samsung oled offline due to samsung botching the oled making it worse
But ya. Content creators they dont talk to much about the motion but most people say its bad. I had a samsung oddy neo G7 32" and the motion was bad on it as well..
Just samsung has issues with motion just saying

All that peak brightness and highlights dont matter if the rest of the TV is meh.
C4 lol good look with the Black Crush on that tv.. And if you game the S90D beats the C4 without problems.
@@Pichoniix the same Samsung that has motion problems. Ya sure
The real question for customer to ask is will they get qd-oled in s90d?
Yes that's the screen. U get qd oled
Great buying tips as always Fomo!
Hey fomo, will a s95d one connect box work with last years s95c tv?
Absolutely not. The power supply voltages from an S95C One Connect Box and S95D One Connect Box are different, with the high voltage power rail on the S95C having a higher voltage than the S95D’s high voltage rail. AllAboutTKK tried a One Connect Box swap and fried the mismatched panel and box fried.
Wasn't it reported the S95D also has woled models, and Samsung being sketchy about it?
No. The reporting that I have seen so far is that the S95D is exclusively gen 3 QD-OLED.
I dont like the one connect box but you dont know what your getting with the s90d either woled or qd oled
This TV is a smoker
😊
I'm speaking on behalf of those for whom money is no object who want the best image. No 77-inch size for third-generation QD-OLED? Could it be that maybe the 77-inch second-generation QD-OLEDs didn't do well because larger brighter QLED LCDs were selling for a lower price?
Yes, 3rd gen QDOLED on 77” S95D at launch
@@stopthefomo I'm glad to be wrong and am glad there IS a 77-inch third-generation QD-OLED out there. I hope Sony carries on with Samsung Display's QD-OLED technology so third-generation QD-OLED lovers could also get Dolby Vision.
@@chriskelly1740 Dolby vision is irrelevant. Just marketing now.
How about the best $1800 TV for the money this year VS last including 75-77inch shootouts🤔🔫.
77” S89C is currently $1800!
I sold my sony 65x95K and took 65s90C. Sony and pc gaming bad combo.

Literally all wall mounts
Fomo, have you heard about samaung not divulging whether their models are woled or wdoled because LG doesnt want their oanels to seem inferior !?
Looks like Samsung Website has S90D 77” on there now $3699 looking at Spec sheet says QD OLED? Can anyone else confirm I am reading that correct?
Confirmed in USA 77” S90D is QDOLED
Awesome thanks for reply it’s my TV of choice for 2024 but I will wait for the price drop in the future.
@@stopthefomois it 2nd generation QD OLED or 3rd generation? Thanks!
Seems like Fomo has a controversal take on the anti glare screen and I am reading feedback from users and it seems he is the only one with this experience. Then again apart from Fomo who else is going to put their TV in front of a floodlight.
I dont want a 77 inch tv so the S90C 55 or thr S90D 55 or the S95C 55 for $1599 right now
I saw a place selling 55 inch s90d for 1200 with three year warranty
Agreed. The S95D has solved my problem of having lights reflect on the tv whenever my wife is in the kitchen. The anti relective screen is a godsend.
Man! Thank you for the East-West facing example…that’s me! Deal breaker :/
Great review FOMO
The LG G4 offers superior image quality for both gaming and movies/tv-shows/streaming. I'm sure LG will win best oled tv of 2024.
Cope.
I have a G4, it has its own gaming issues.
the s95d sucks ass a matte panel? really that negates the point of an oled. black in a lit room is grey blacks. i used to buy samsung but they ruined their best oled.
Please stop this nonsense
Who really cares.
They are both a waste of good money.
Honestly.
😢
Do the Samsungs still have the occasional skip in their motion?
I remember that I had to put my KS8000 in Game Mode to watch movies due to that random occasional skip in the motion. Drove me crazy. I have a S95B and it does not have that same problem. I should note that sometimes when a scene starts from a blank screen, there might be a slight studder. I am super sensitive so most will probably will not notice it. I watch stuff without interpolation as it still creates occasional artifacts.
Thanks! I keep hearing about it. Cause? Frame matching, maybe? Native apps only? Just want to have a tv with the least annoying quirks(I know none are perfect)
Glossy one wins by default.
Lg is king is that simple
dolby vision is important factor when it comes to purchasing my next tv , which btw it widly supported tv shows , movies and gaming compared to hdr10+ that is close to none existence.
Samsung is just hard headed for not willing to pay few $ to pay for its license .
they make great panels though but these panels are also available and better used like sony .
I’ve compared DV at length with regular HDR10, minimal differences and more often than not indistinguishable but may also be less accurate out of the box if not LG
Dolby vision is irrelevant. Don't get tricked by marketing.
the lack of Dolby vision is a big deal for me , Dolby vision has more tv shows, movies and gaming compared to hdr10+ which almost none existence .
Samsung is just hard headed company that its not willing to pay few $ for its licenses .
thy make fantastic panels , but they sure don't listen to what their customers want .
I would argue you are hard headed about DV. FOMO already explained to you that DV is not different from HDR10...
