To me, having a sponsor like that is a bit shady: you as a content creator who focuses on tech, should not accept a sponsor like that. First do an independent review of said product, then have them sponsor, but like this I dunno, I don't like this.

I can get the 55 inch Samsung S95C for $1599 and the S90D same size for $1799 so which one should I get? I'm not interested in the S90C because I want either a 55 or 65 inch panel and the S90C only comes with 2nd Gen in 77 inch.

I think a point a lot of reviewers are missing regarding the glare/reflection debate is the ability to actual focus on content. I will take washed out screen 100% over a reflection in brighter rooms. I simply can not maintain focus when reflections are prominent.

I got the S95D because I have the big windows with the sun shining directly in. My previous 10 year old TV was absolutely unwatchable at any time the sun was coming in. So I chose the S95D specifically because of the anti-glare.
I have not had the same experience you had with glare being spread out. When the sun comes directly in the window and directly onto the screen, yes I can see the glare. The glare is in the shape of the window, not spread out. The glare is just a white blur, and not a sharp mirror-image like on a glossy screen. More importantly, even when the glare is there, I can still clearly see the image on the television through the glare.
We do have blinds, but they aren't completely opaque. They are the kind that simply reduces the sunlight coming in, but the room is still extremely bright with them closed. No, we can't change them or do anything about this. The point is, that with those blinds closed, and the sunlight merely reduced, but not even close to being eliminated, the S95D is completely glare free. It's very comfortable to watch, as if the room was dark, even though the room is very bright.
Previous crappy TV was impossible to see anything. We couldn't use it at all during certain hours of the day. S95D, no regrets. YMMV

That’s a good point you should see it in person. I’ve seen matte screens before many times and just don’t prefer them. One thing to note is that the professional displays that they edit on are usually matte finish and they are always in a light controlled room. Personally I’m not certain what’s the point of this tv. There’s probably a reason TV companies haven’t been making matte screens displays. This is not a new technology not at all. Looking forward to seeing it for myself. When I watch TV, I usually watch at night or if I watch it today I pull the shades so again I’m not sure the purpose of a matte finish TV. And from what I’ve heard thus far from Brian, this TV seems to be best in a darker room.

I had a feeling the s90d would start as a 2nd gen, as the s90c started as a 1st gen. What would be interesting, and I have a feeling... the s90d will be equal to a s90c 2nd gen modded (512) in service menu to s95c brightness levels (they did reduce 2nd gen to ana peak 512 from 588 to get that 20% push for upcoming next gen) . That gives the 20% brightness increase, and could be exactly the same exact thing that they can charge a higher price for. It will be interesting to see a s90c vs a s90d at some point, especially if anyone was brave enough to do the +20% s90c mod for brightness.

    0:32 "Why?"
    A. Reduce life expectancy by adding more failure points and unnecessary parts?
    B. Shoving the remaining connect boxes from our LCD lines into the buyers throat instead of recycling them?
    C. Intentionally pushing a proven defect part into uninformed users so some of them give us the benefit of the doubt and repurchase next year in hopes of a fix?
    D. Free griller Box, so you can cook your stake on it while consuming your favorite media?
    E. Eye Care feature, take a free black screen every few minutes of TV usage to relax your eyes?
    F. Always bet on peoples ignorance, some people think it must be a premium feature since it costs more right? RIGHT??
Correct answer = ALL of the above.
    Bonus Feature:
    Portability and low weight.
A major plus since we all carry around our TVs in our everyday life!
I suggest a bundled Power Bank to sweeten the deal!

anti-judder motion should be at 3 to 4 to eliminate stutter while minimizing soap opera; filmmaker is the best mode more often than not (other than Dynamic for sports) and the 2 settings you can play with is Static (dark room) or Active tone mapping with Contrast Enhancer normally OFF in the dark, but you can play with Low to Medium for a little more pop. Shadow Detail is 0 at default but you can decrease it by -2 for deeper blacks in a dark room.

Samsung needs to stop mixing panels. I prefer the glossy finish, so S95D is out. But I also can't stand WOLED and want the latest QD OLED if possible. So this year I wouldn't be able to buy a Samsung?! The S85D should be the model where they sell leftover and crappy panels, the S90D should be the S95D without the matte anti glare coating. What is the S85D for, if the S90D already fulfills that purpose? Also, how are reviewers and customers dealing with this nonsense... so, you can buy the S90C if it is 77", then it is as good as or better than the S95C. But if it is 55 or 65", it is a different, not as good TV. And with the S90D the review only applies to 55" and 65" models, but not really, because you could get a different generation panel. It doesn't apply at all to the 48 and 83" models, they are completely different. To see how they perform, refer to the LG C3 review. I mean, what the hell? This alone should disqualify Samsung.
