Maybe install it on a bedroom door so the hallway could simulate what the field of view would be like in apartments with a corridor leading to the door. I also wonder how it would work on doors with a security/screen door installed.
You might want to consider showing people how to convert a standard camera into a door cam. There are a number of cheap way s to do it like using $20 wyze came and $2 over the door hook. You just mount the camera onto the hook. The power cord is small enough to go between the door. Or you could mount the camera on the inside looking through the peephole.
all these doorcam or ringcam have a hit and miss. I don't think the doorcam is bad at all. The height of ur door is the problem. My door is perfect for this because i know people with this cam and love it. The motion is really quick and i can get this cheaper with amazon discount. I also have solar lights as well so and that will help with the cam quality at night. I did think the echo show took too long to show up the video. great video

i started thinking I just needed a single wyze camera then watching many of your videos I realized that what I real need is a proper NVR system, probably with a combination of 8 and 12 MB reolink cameras The missing piece of the puzzle is what doorbell to use to have continuous recording and if possible using the nvr memory itself. You need to test the porch pirate when coming from your garage, not just the long walkway. If they assume you have a door camera, they will try to take the approach which offers the least detection time. So if they come from the garage, the camera may only get their back by the time they get up to the package, grab and turn around to leave. So also test at a brisk pace. not running, but very fast walk. Heck, maybe even running. I am not a porch pirate, but I suspect they are not walking slowly when they go to grab items. I suspect they are also not sprinting because that will bring attention to themselves.

Can this work as a stand alone? Does it work without internet or wifi once setup? What is the bear minimum it requires? If internet is required, is the live view over the internet or WIFI when locally on-site?
Wow that speaker audio is horrible and night vision even with outdoor lights seems on par or worse than a Wyze cam. We renters always need more options but oof not this at least not at $200. Thanks for reviewing it.

You're actually saving a lot of money by buying expensive hardware, but not having a subscription fee. You can buy a Ring doorbell - but at $14 a month for a year - that's $168.
I am betting, based on the size of that thing, that the strata council, if you live in a condo, will just tell you to remove it because it alters the exterior appearance and there's not much you can do to argue that.
Does anyone know which UDP & TCP ports need to be opened on WiFi Routers for the App to find a DoorCam 2 or DoorCam 3 ? Worked out of the box using Cox internet supplied Wi-Fi router, but not on an Aircove Router (yes I turned off the VPN) I can't find any specs on ports. These work great, but support is lacking. Feel free to reach out to me, I will test and report results.
I wonder if there is battery quality screen in the app. I certainly don't want to buy alkaline all the time when I can use my rechargeables. But I know rechargeable quality falls off faster than alkalines do.

Nigh vision quality is poor as wall as the audio, but it an ok solution for renters and detection seem to be quick..
