    This is genius thank you so much. We live in an apartment with no window near the door and no peephole so there is absolutely no way for me to check who's at my door. It makes me so anxious every time anyone knocks. I've been looking for a wireless, no screw mount option for a while now so these ideas are amazing.

    Thanks for the last tip! The over the door mount and even using it as a side mount on a door is a great idea for apartments!! The ring peephole can't be used on my door because the peephole can't be removed so this is what I'll be doing Thank you!!

    I used heavy duty clear outdoor waterproof grab adhesive on a small piece of wood which I painted in waterproof paint and then just screwed the mounting bracket to this! The wood was mounted inside the window frame to brick looks great 👍

    Fantastic! Another video with great ideas! When I mounted my cameras I was hoping to do something temporary before making a commitment before drilling holes into my house. I put up blue tape on the locations a couple of days before drilling just to make sure the locations were right and to try to keep them from too much exposure. You would be very surprised how many times I would change a location even by a few inches. Those tips, especially the over door bracket was really smart! BTW- I found a Goldilocks nearby, ordering food tomorrow!

    a lot of cleverness on display here - kudos! just hope some of those over the door brackets won't leave a mark from continued use.
    remember, when using tapes surface prep can be very important: cleaning surfaces with alcohol and then wiping dry, maybe roughing up a surface gently to help the tapes get a better bite, etc.
    there are some chewing gums that can make excellent adhesive for mounting brackets.
    you can use hot glue. granted there's a removal issue, but it's valid.
    lastly, just make the hole, but make it small. make fewer holes - just because the bracket has three doesn't mean you have to use them all. save/capture some brick dust when you drill the hole - you can fill the hole with caulk later and top it with some of the dust to hide it.

Funny how when you think you’ve figured something out, there’s almost always someone who’s already done it lol Will be using the door hook for my eufy, except that I’m using the wired version so will have to ensure that the cable can squeeze in under the mount.

    Your wreath hook idea is genius, I have been using an adhesive mount which does work ok but I'm concerned the glue will eventually fail or that someone will just rip it off. Attaching a wooden or metal plate to a wreath hook should be very trivial and then I can just bolt on the existing mount. Ring also make a peephole camera that I use on my front door but my back door has no peephole so less options.

    I would not recommend using mounting tape outdoors with Arlo Pro 2. I used the toughest outdoor Scotch tape and the cameras fell after 1 month. They were hard drops onto concrete but I was impressed that Arlo still worked but the case was broken. The weight of the camera gradually pulled the tape off the wall.

    • @LifeHackster
      @LifeHackster  3 года назад +1

      Yes, the Arlos are a bit heavy and the mounting tape will eventually give in.

    I have put the wyze cam flat cable thru my window and I have a screen outside the window. I put the metal disc, then screen and then camera in a sandwich pattern. Then put the screen back in place. The camera is sitting there well so no holes etc. :)
    Edit: I have no sidings or gutters in my house. Front door also has a security door. So my option works well. :)

    Thanks for all of your videos! What about no screw mounting options for Doorbell cameras? I know it's better to screw them in for security reasons but not everyone can do that. I've tried 3M double sided tape and it's not working. I guess due to heat/humidity. Also there are different types of siding styles so the doorbell cameras don't sit flush causing issues with the 3M tape.
