  • Today, we are going to compare indoor WIFI security cameras that have window mounts like the Wyze with their Wyze Cam V3 and the Wyze Cam OG, the Eufy with their C24 Solo Indoor Cam, the Blink Mini and compare it to the Panasonic Home Hawk Window which is designed to be only mounted in a glass window. At the end, I will rank them and see which Window mounted WIFI camera is the best.

    One of the most annoying things about security cameras is the trend toward subscriptions based services. Even if the camera offers basic services without a subscription, it will be severely handicapped. I never cared about remote access or cloud recording, but that shouldn't mean that camera functions should be limited from using the full capability of its hardware without a subscription. I get subscriptions if you want cloud recording and remote control, but doing something like knock your HD camera down to 480p recording on your own SD card or over your private network is stupid.

    Panasonic may be good for people who don’t want audio recording for privacy reasons in the home but want window outdoor security video surveillance. I have an old Wyze pan v2 in my window I hate when it records my indoor activity or moves from power restart facing indoors. I bought the v3 for my moms house in a window since Wi-Fi is poor out in her front yard. Bought myself a few too and bought us the window mounts. Still need to set up though.

    So we have a camera but there is not night vision unless a car light points against a window and glare/reflection from the window if sunlight shines on it or at night. But our camera works (recording everything) when WIFI is turned off for 24/7, can zoom in/out, etc. We wanted to know which was best the Eufy or Wyze OG for night vision, facial recognition, no subscriptions with SD card, etc if wifi is turned off will it still record the entire time while at the window? Do you have to buy anything else required for it to work like a monitor? Great video.

    Hi, Could you make a video on an indoor wifi camera with the best mic? I believe there isn't a single video or article on which indoor camera has the best mic. So for example, If I want to detect noise entering my unit (lets say impact noise from an apartment above or a neighbours barking dog), from what I have tested , the wyze cam v3, it is very poor and can't detect it while a cellphone mic (recording video) can easily pick these up.
    This would be very helpful.
    Or if you could give a recommendation for this purpose that would be helpful as well.

    Loved this. I used an Amcrest 1080P PTZ for keeping an eye on the backyard of my 2nd home. To get around IR glare, I turned it off, kept the light-blocking drape closed behind it, and installed a good motion detecting light that covered the yard. It worked - but these window-mount cameras are a better deal - albeit not PTZ. My main home as a dozen POE IP cameras feeding an NVR that let me keep an eye on the entire property. Getting 3 of them going on the shed that's 150' from the house required ethernet over power line adapters as I didn't want to dig another trench to the shed for Cat5. It works well enough to capture frequent deer invasions. I'd never have messed with cameras, but for a thwarted smash and grab attempt on my elderly dad who lived here first and I installed some wifi cameras on the driveway and door for his peace of mind. When I retired and moved in to take care of him, I upgraded the entire system because he got real joy out of seeing me work to care for the property when he couldn't any longer. I did however rebuff his request to put a camera on the hot tub where the wife and I like to unwind before turning in. Thanks for the great review!

      @extendedp1 11 месяцев назад +2

      I do this. I have a Yi Home camera setup with 5 cameras. I have an old ipad on a stand next to the bed that shows the feed from one of my cameras all night. Yi (or the sub brand Kami) have apps for Android and iPad that will run a long time, unlike the Amazon Echo Show which times out after 10 minutes of showing video (very disappointing). The Yi stream would run all night for years, but the past few days sometimes it shuts off after a few hours and you have to click the screen to refresh. I am not sure if that is a change at Yi, or my internet. The Yi offers 2 way talk, btw. I do have a subscription to Yi, not sure if you need that to see the constant stream.

    So I purchased the EUFY indoor camera to hook up to my window to look outside. I got all the products that you had suggested it K’NEX good and all of that I even got the SanDisk. My problem is turbo if it’s not bright, light out side, then the Red lights on the camera come on and I don’t know how to turn them off I know how to turn one but I can’t turn off like the round circle of red lights so it just reflects on the window. I can’t figure out either I’ve got a put something black all the way around except for the little circle of the round camera in the center or I don’t know what to do. I wanna use it when it’s daylight out?
    When I needed to have a camera in my garage, I use the baby monitor left a small light on and set up the baby monitor and then the little screen part was connected in my bedroom so I could just look on there and I can look out in the garage and see everything in color And I had a two way audio and it ran on Wi-Fi that works really good but I wasn’t getting a very good Wi-Fi signal so sometimes it would fall in and out of Wi-Fi. But all in all it worked really good. I had it out there for two years. But I was hoping I could use this AU FYI camera and hook it onto the glass to look out in a blind spot area. But if there’s no light, then the lights, some of the lights stay on and you just get this back glare. So I’m at the point now where I’m trying to figure out what kind of like can I put there saying that there’s no electrical outlet if I have to install the light just for a camera to look out the window I might as will just install the camera with the light resident go through all of that.😂

      Go to video settings and turn OFF "Night Vision" to get rid of the circle of LEDs. However you will need an external light to get a video....floodlight with PIR or something.

    Great review! I purchased a Wyze Cam V3 a couple of days ago. It seems okay, but on the Micro CD card it only records on the (continuous) loop and not on the (events only) i receive a message (operation failed). Kind of strange. Not sure if that's a defect or a software issue.

      You can do this with the wyze because you can separately turn off IR and black and white night vision. With the eufy, when you turn off auto night vision, it will be in color which IR emitter will have no effect.

    Any cheap solar light outside will allow any camera to see much better. I have a few 60 lumen solar lights that to the human eye doesn't do much but to a camera it's a world of difference.
