    If you have a 1.6L - here is the heater core updated hose part number with the updated solid elbow
    CV6Z18472AB

    The 1.6L is jot listed in the chart because it has a different hose but same concept

      My 2014 w/ the Ecoboost 1.6L started having a slow leak (gallon of collant per 1.5months) a few months back that has been driving me nuts. I have been in recovery from a multi level spinal fusion surgery for the past year and haven't been able to get under the car. Doc just gave me the all clear to start doing normal activities again. So, I might attempt driving it up on the ramps and seeing if this is where the leak is coming from. Thanks for the heads up. This is very helpful.

      How do I get those band clamps to let go and grab the hose? There are two, one is like 5/8 and the other is like 1/4. Looks like you need to press on something… (not talking about the quick disconnects)

    • @cgonedfishing
      @cgonedfishing 2 года назад +1

      Got it, lol, the 5/8 (larger one) just had a small piece of metal tab that needed to snap off (or sounded like it) the 1/4 or smaller on needed to just be released to clamp on… now time to try and fix the vacuum tube that snapped. Right above this area that goes back to the radiator 🤦‍♂️.

      The link to Auto Value says that part does NOT fit a 2013 Ford Escape 1.6L.

    I just want to say thank you so much. I have a 2014 ford escape and I have been topping my coolant every 18 days and the mechanic couldn’t find anything. After this video that was the exact thing that was leaking. Thank you again!

    YUP. Changed my share of those too. Since we're talking about common coolant leaks from those model years, you might as well include coolant control valves and water pumps too, on the models with the 1.6.

    THIS HAS TO BE IT!! This started as a antifreeze smell 3 years ago. EVEN Took it to ford they said they couldnt find it🤨 gave me the finger..Now the coolant is leaking from somewhere behind the motor saturating the cross member underneath behind the motor.. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ where exactly is this part located?? I dont have access to the lift right now so have to jack the car up again. Hopefully thats it . THANKS

    Wife has a 2013 escape runs well. Seems to ‘loose’ enough coolant every 3-6 months to cause it to run warm when it hits 100F. Never found a leak. Usually symptom is running hot and a cylinder head temperature code. Add 1 gallon of coolant back and it runs ‘normal’ till the next occurrence. Head gasket? No white smoke is observed. Head scratcher. Oil doesn’t show any coolant. Maybe my radiator cap is bad?

    My Escape loses coolant an average of ~2ml/km (~3ml/mile). It could (or not) be from the engine running while driving. Ford dealership did a pressure test and it indicated no leak. I will have to take it back for more tests. Hopefully it's not one of the very expensive fixes such as water pump, radiator, thermostat, heater core or head gasket.

      Subsequent tests by dealership reveals coolant leaking into cylinders. Quote: $1200 USD

      I carry coolant and if I am parked for more than 2 days I refill it. Expensive, stupid. Never buying American again.

      @@HashBashArchive Im running into a similar issue, did you happen to have coolant in your oil? What was causing the leak into the cylinders?

      Hey! Any update? Mine does the same thing, and pressure test indicated no leak

    • @HashBashArchive
      @HashBashArchive Год назад +1

      @@8bitpick522 Ford did more tests and determined I was leaking coolant past the head gasket into cylinders and out the turbo and exhaust. I waited too long to fix it, and I had to have my engine rebuilt and turbo replaced which cost me nearly $3000 USD. Ford dealer wanted $12000 USD to replace the engine and turbo. The car's current value in good condition is $14000 to $16000. Don't wait. Could be a common problem with Eco Boost engines. Ford dealer denies it. The problem is not related to Ford's current recall of possible Eco Boost engine fires.

    Yea I have a 2013 ford fusion with coolant leak coming from the plastic connector that connects the coolant resivoir to the system. The upper hose that its referred as. Its not a huge deal but ford makes you buy the whole assembly and they don't just sell the plastic elbow 🤦‍♂️Its this part DG9Z18472V

    Hello, in my 2016 escape I'm finding some type of fluid (grey, little thick) in the coolant reservoir. No antifreeze in the engine or transmission is found, changed the transmission cooler and flushed the system, problem remained, niw I'm being told tgat I must change tge engine oil cooler which is in tge filter housing, do you think that this is the issue? Thanks

    I had coolant leaking for a day, small puddle in the front end area. Happened after getting a new car inspection at a local shop, for my 2013 Escape, and after a night of freezing weather in Phoenix, AZ. Took it back to same shop they say Transmission cooler needs replaced. That wasn't included in the problems listed in new car inspection. Do you think the line could be the problem? They want $550 to replace part and 2 hours labor. I almost think they bumped the line

      If you have a lower engine cover that covers everything up underneath take it off and leave it off drive it for a while and then look for the leak

    Got a 1.6 ecoboost, losing antifreeze yet it isnt losing pressure during a pressure test and I never see any white clouds from the exhaust, any tips on where to look next?

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  2 года назад

      It isn't losing pressure? How do you know that are you letting it sit there Under Pressure all night and then waking up in the morning to see what type of pressure you have left over cuz if you're not then you're not doing it right

      If the front engine mount has dry crusted antifreeze on it the coolant bottle is cracked it will only leak when the engine is hot

      You ever find the issue? I am smelling coolant when getting out of the driver side real heavy and I don't have any white clouds and just had it pressure tested as well with no issues. Coolant has to be coming from somewhere.
