Thank you so much for this. I have always known that I want to work in interior design but I always felt stuck when it comes to a portfolio. This helps so much!

@@InteriorDesignersHub I took a couple years of an interior design degree and dropped out back in the day so I'm working my way back into this. Currently I'm taking the Interior Design Institutes Certificate Program and that's helping to shake.off the rust. I work full.time though and don't own a house (rent a one bedroom in a quadplex) so there isn't a ton of flexibility with our space. I have made some design changed but the landlord was very specific about what we could change so I was very nervous about doing anything we would have to put back. Looks.like we're going to be here a while though so I'm allowing myself to make larger design decisions. Mostly I'm struggling with prioritizing my homework and design with my 40 hr work week. This month I'm buckling down and I'm going to get my floor plan lesson and sketchup course completed since that will definitely help shake off the rust. I'm going to use your tips about vignettes, testimonials, and creating fake projects from brief to 3D CAD mockup since that will definitely create a solid start for me! I had one free project I was working on before the pandemic but it wasn't completed and I'm not sure my friend still wants to finish it. I'm going to reach out about it though for sure. Thanks!

Were the 3d modeling examples you showed drawn by hand?

thank you so much for your help! i would love to ask if its better to work on a single floor plan of a house and then detailing each room alone from that house ? or its better to work on different rooms and random things?

It depends what the client wants. Sometimes it's best to have a whole house concept designed, and then work on a room at a time.

@@InteriorDesignersHub thank you so much but I don't have clients I just want to make a portfolio for univ is it still better to do a whole house?

@@kaoutardergaoui9204 The more you can show, the better it is. But a few things done really well are better than lots of things done not so well :)
