I go to a public spot and fish with one relatively smaller swimbait and get about 2 compliments on my fish (which is the swimbait) and a couple people saying "they eat that?"
I'm a big fan of Savage Gear swimbaits. They are about the cheapest out there but are super good quality. I fish a lot of them for pike and am very impressed
Fantastic Vid Tyler! I mainly fish my pond and have really gotten into using Bluegill Swimbaits. Mike Bucca Baby Bull Gill is a fantastic starter Swimbait. Also, the Megabass Vatalion (my current fav), Evergreen Bream Slide (just got for Christmas), and Manifold Castaleon. There are several JDM brands that offer incredible larger swimbaits as well for those who are newer to it. Deps and Megabass are great companies to look too. Glad he showed how to reel the baits in!! I think that’s the biggest learning curve w using larger swimbaits as well as using the right (usually expensive) gear!! Appreciate ya Tyler jj
Tyler I asked for a swimbait video and I sure got what I asked for and some. Great video. I know I said only go up to 2oz but now that I understand more I feel like a big 6oz would be worth it even up north. Thanks for boosting my confidence just by putting out this video!
Storm arashi is another great starter glide and west coast guys can’t forget Huddleston 8inch and I’ve been hearing good things from savage gear line thru trouts!
Grant is always someone that I look up to when ever it comes to swimbaits. I’ve been fishing swimbaits for about a year and I always like seeing grant catch fish. I always watch his one video on his old channel at the waterfall. Grant is awsome.
I remember that clip with Jon B well. What an awesome thing when you brought the Googans together for the first time! Awesome video with great tips! Thanks Tyler!
I think i would rather cast net some big gizzard shad for free and throw them out their live on a bobber. I would love to fish with big swim baits but they are a bit pricey
Great video!...I'm a Musky and Pike trophy hunter but have taken some time off to hunt for a PB Bass...I live in Michigan and nobody is throwing large baits for Bass....thanks for all the knowledge...the young Man with you makes my heart sing!! So glad someone young has the love and passion for fishing...P.S..Tyler your also an inspiration...by the way...I'm 60 yrs old...lol
My plan is to start using glide baits this upcoming season. That being said, I fish out of a kayak. What kind of gear would you recommend for kayak fish?
Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could ruclips.net/user/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.
Tyler this was a very informative video, thanks for having the young Legend GRANT L. on. I've seen him fish before, very impressed to watch such a young man with so many double digit fish so good, and is excellent on the camera. Go out and land some hogs with him
First day first two casts with a gantarel caught a 5 lber and had on a 10+ if i had to guess been hooked ever since lol my buddy that was with me next day bought a swimbait setup and baits lol
Might as well get into throwing a senko again, with videos like this everyone is going to be throwing swimbaits to the point fish won’t bite a Swimbait to save their lives.
I just started watching recently and a video from years back had you doing a raffle for a bas boat for Muscular Dystrophy or I forget the research program. Will you be doing any more.
Great video bro. Grant is cool I started watching him while I was stationed in Alaska and Wahington State. Great tips and Great information guys!! Looking forward to more collabs and tips!!
Glad I bought a bunch of these 20 years ago when they $10 ea It didn't come without criticism though most people I knew made fun of me for owning them.
New reel, brand new s waver 168 in lite trout, first cast ever throwing a big swimbait today an a 4-5lb slammed it but unfortunately I didn't catch the fish. Definitely doing this more often
I started with braid to mono and flouro with a fg knot. My Daiwa tatula rod has micro guides and even with a tight knot casting was a pain. I switched to straight flouro 20lb seagar, it didn't cast well either. I finally went to plain old mono and had much better luck casting.
That’s very odd. 20lb fluoro is thinner than 20lb mono, so I don’t know how you could have worse casting luck with that on big swim baits. More power to ya though!
Hey tyler. I know this is not the right video to ask you this question.... but what would be the best jig in particular and lures to throw in a clear rocky lake with smallmouth. I fish from shore. thank you for taking the time out of your day to answer our comments and questions.
Grant NEEDS a RUclips channel u bet i 'd subscribe! Nice to see Grant i have watched every video he is in at least twice lol. He is most of the reason i started swimbait fishing.
Fantastic information. Thanks! Gonna try these baits this spring! Grant, when you use braid, are you using straight braid, or do use a mono or fluoro leader? Keep these videos coming.
@@TylersReelFishing Thanks for the quick reply. I wish I had asked earlier....just lost one from a failed knot.....straight to bait from now on. Great channel, great info, great demos, great catches!
I would love a big video breaking down how you find beds... I know there are some already out there but you have the knowledge from fishing Minnesota along with Texas and all the other places you have fished... I think that would be a great video.
What is the perfect gear ratio for crank baiting bc I watched all your videos on crank baits and i don’t think you said anything about gear ratio so do you want a fast or slow one
Can u do some pre spawn tips as we get closer
That kid is a beast for his age he’s proved his swim bait fishing on multiple channels and he kills it can’t wait for warmer weather
Grant proves it all the time
Thank you my dudes🙌🏻
Collab with kicking there bass?
Yessir!

Haha yep!
I'm a big fan of Savage Gear swimbaits. They are about the cheapest out there but are super good quality. I fish a lot of them for pike and am very impressed
Pretty good ones, especially the line through ones
Agreed! I'm just sad that they discontinued the 4Play with the lip. My favorite one is pretty eaten up so I keep watching ebay
All it took for me was one fish now I’m addicted to swimbaits😂

Watched the whole thing and learned a ton! Really great info, Tyler and Grant. Glad to hear Lake Austin is finally producing some monster bass again.
Thanks for watching!

Great video! Thanks for making it! One stop shop for what you need to know and the time flew by.
That’s exactly what I want my channel to be!

For sure!
No judgement, simply curiosity. Are quadruple hooks even legal?? 🧐🤔
Great video, Tyler. Really am getting hooked on the big swimbaits. Would love to see more videos like this one.

He really is one of the best young guns out there slingin the glide
The fact I knew who your guest was before you said his name. Love seeing people that are others channels be on your channel.

That second one is like a Hanzo sword. If God himself bites the bait, he will be caught.

Savage Gear shine glide is an awesome glide and it's affordable
Great content. Thanks Tyler.
Thanks for watching!
My plan is to start using glide baits this upcoming season. That being said, I fish out of a kayak. What kind of gear would you recommend for kayak fish?
A slightly shorter rod, like a 7’10”H. That will limit the size glide you can throw, but you can still throw 8in ones
BPS/ Cab’s has a 6” and 8” S-waver knockoff for less than $15. They work and I don’t meltdown (too badly) when I lose one.
That they do!
You forgot to mention you can use it to discourage rude people to stop being rude on the water. 😂😂😂😂
Haha true true
Super kind man, I love how you try and get along with everyone in the fishing community.
Always!

Tyler, I need that pull over. Where you get it

Possibly in 2024! Later this year

Does grant have a channel

BIG BAITS!!! Let’s do this!
YESSIR!💪🏼
Great video! Nice to see grant again.
Glad he’s back into it!
Tyler, I like this kid grant, he is well spoken and explained well, kind a young Tyler, lol
Grant is cool!
What are the budget rods ?
how do u make the fish bite when they are staring at it but wont bite
Downsize your line size and lure size, and make a longer cast to them
Do you adjust your reel when throwing big swimbait just like any other bait a slow drop .
Mine will usually be a little bit looser than regular lures and techniques. It’s more of a heave than a cast with a big swimbait
Does your friend have a RUclips channel. If so I wanna subscribe to him too
I think he does. Search “grant Langmore”
Great info I love tossing the big baits.
27:34 looks like a carp swimming through the water
Some of them are meant to!
Hhhhhhheeeeelllllloooo
Heeeyyooooo
I would love to get into big swimbait fishing there just very expensive for something i would lose in a day
With that attitude! Can’t be afraid to throw em if you get the right gear
@@TylersReelFishing yea i will try is there any not very expensive ones you recommend

those glide bait strikes up close at the boat are fun
Haven’t had one close yet, but I can imagine!!
Hey what’s up
Not sure this has been addressed, but what knot are you typically using? I use 50# braid on my swimbait rig and I want a good knot recommendation.
Wrun
$150 for a hinkle. Man times were grate
I know lol
great info! Im new into the glide world and you fellas taught me aton! Love it!!
Hey I've watched so many of your videos your the best fisherman ever
That was a 20 minute video alright lol keep it up
Ended up quite a lot longer than I had thought haha
love the excitement when you catch one!! I feel like im there with you!!
The guys could be brothers. Great video.
Awesome to see yall together!! Looking forward to more!!
What’s grants RUclips channel?

Holy guacamole $150 for a glide bait 😳 my rod and reel cost that much! 🤯 I'll stick to my spinner baits 🤣🤣🤣 maybe with more experience ill try it.
Trust me, they have some insane power to catch big fish! You’ve just gotta have the right gear for it!!
I started with braid to mono and flouro with a fg knot. My Daiwa tatula rod has micro guides and even with a tight knot casting was a pain. I switched to straight flouro 20lb seagar, it didn't cast well either. I finally went to plain old mono and had much better luck casting.

Sorry to get all sciency, but the longer the fishing rod, the more leverage the fish has ON YOU. Jus' sayin'.
I mean to a certain point. I’m just giving facts on what all master swim bait anglers like
Always impressed with your outstanding content and positive attitude TRF. Good video with lots of excellent tips for big glide baits.
Thanks for the kind words!
Hey Tyler! Great video!! Can you recommend some big glide bait companies to look out for on Instagram??
I would DM grant on Instagram!

Opinions on the bass pro xps boss glide bait?

Thanks Ty!!!
Dope video TRF GOD BLESS
ive used big swim baits not the size or price the younger guys using but anyways, ive used big swim baits an caught nothing
:(
Just gotta keep it up!
Recommendation for an open water bluegill bait?
Really any of the bluegill ones. Just work em slower
Glide baits are definitely different from a traditional swimbait but fall in the same category weirdly but I like Huddlestons soft baits
Great vid!
Thank uou!
Great video man, keep it up!
Great video guys
i would love to see a video where its finesse fishing vs swim-bait fishing. both guys out of the same boat. most weight with multiple fish wins.
Finesse would win 9/10 times. Swimbait would absolutely destroy that 10th time though
Great video love how all your videos are educational!
That’s the whole goal!
Great video a lot of valuable info..ive never used a glide bait personally so i learned a lot thank you guys
Awesome I’m glad you learned today!
I’m the 101 like 👍🏻
Fantastic information. Thanks! Gonna try these baits this spring! Grant, when you use braid, are you using straight braid, or do use a mono or fluoro leader? Keep these videos coming.
Straight on either one for me. I don’t trust expensive swimbaits with a leader
@@TylersReelFishing Thanks for the quick reply. I wish I had asked earlier....just lost one from a failed knot.....straight to bait from now on. Great channel, great info, great demos, great catches!
