Just found a Deps 175 while on vacation in Japan for $20 and a Deps 115 for $8. Deps 115 was previously owned. Excited to try it out when I’m back in the states! Thanks for the tips 👍
Absolutely true about bigger glides get more attention I seen several times when I threw a big glide and part way back to the boat and looked behind it and see 5 or 6 bass following the glide back towards me, it’s crazy because when I first started I used little glides and didn’t see any followers.
I literally watched several videos of the SDJ knot and it never made sense. Seeing him doing it on a lure in such a simple way was amazing to see and I actually understood it. 20:01 for all those who want a quick link!
Thank ya'll, so much, man \m/ Went fishing this past Sunday w a Savage Gear 3D shine glide, had the best day fishing I've had in a couple months. Thank you both for the confidence booster ((thug hugs)).
This was a very educational video for me. I fish buy my self. I have 10 different swimming baits and he just showed the right way to fish them for me. When I get home from guntersville i am going to take video and rewatch hand see what I can do to better myself. Thanks for video.
Good video, lots of good info. What little swimbait fishing i have done i have definitely seen that you never want to slow down or stop your bait . I have seen that these big baits are not as app to get snagged as you would think . Even if they do most times the weight of the bait help to get it free. With a chop style bait what is the best way to keep the front hook from snagging your line and fouling the bait ???
I love freshwater and saltwater fishing. The most I've ever paid for a single lure was $20 and I bought two of them. $40 for two lures and only caught one bass on one of them.😂there's no way in hell I would ever buy a $250 or $100 lure.😂with my luck I would probably lose it on my first cast.😂 verygood video though guys.🙂👍
Gene, just leaving this here because it’s your most recent video and I don’t feel like searching for the one I’m going to mention 😂 I watched a video recently where you talked about fishing a doubles tournament following up your partner with a neko when a fish missed his buzz bait. I experienced this scenario alone yesterday. Blew up on my buzz bait but totally missed it. I caught him minutes later with a crankbait not a neko.. although I did have a neko rig tied on my finess rod. Without your advice in that vid I’d have just kept chucking the buzz bait at him and probably never caught him. Ended up being a 2.5 pounder which here in WV where in fishing is a solid largemouth. Man, I just wanna say thanks. You have a plethora of content and we can’t really ask for much more.. but I’m still going to. I’d love to hear you talk about dissecting a new body of water (without a fish finder) and especially any advice you have on fishing from the bank. I’m hiking through briar patches and wading swamps to catch these suckers, but with your teaching I’m confident I’ll catch em when I get there so makes it all worth it. Thanks again dude
the Spro KGB chad shad is also a chop style glide bait that is only about $50+ and has good results, so I've heard. $250 is a deal breaker for me especially casting from the bank!!
Wish I would have seen this video before yesterday. I broke down & bought the $60 Spro KGB Chad Shad on Friday. Tied it on with my goto knot. Needless to say I owned a $60 glide bait for 3 days, went to make a bomb cast yesterday & my knot failed🤦🏽♂️
Can’t wait for the “ this bait casts two grand, but meh, since I’m not paying for it…. Sooooo yeah it’s worth it!! “ video. There’s no way I’m gonna pay that much for a potential lost lure. I prescribe to Bill Dance’s line of thought. He owns a tackle shop. Ok now I get it
Here hoping you can teach me something that I don't know. Always willing to be better and definitely always dig seeing someone else's techniques. I think I'd be deadly if I had live scope
Savage gear shine glide, is a good glide bait for a cheap price..the newest bass pro shops Swerve Glide is a really good glide bait surprisingly...$18 I believe & has some really good reviews
@@rogermendez7266that’s not in a swimbait/glidebait category. You cannot compare a jerkbait to swimbait/swimbait lol that’s for another video for your comparison on fluke
Would you want a follow up bait if you have a followers or one that turns on it? I appreciate this video to help me understand the process of the glide bait as I am trying to improve my technique. Thanks!!
There’s a reason why a Trick Shad costs $180, because they’re worth it. The rods are the same way, once you get into the $300-400 price point some of the rods go from good to great.
If you are using a 300 series reel, I would guess you are using flouro in the 20+ lb range. If you are using 15-18 lb, then 200 series is nice. Braid or
I’m so paranoid throwing out $40-80 baits but at the same time I’ve caught some monsters with glide baits. I’m in Massachusetts and not a lot of people are using them here
He could have caught a couple of them if he followed up with another bait like a senko or other soft plastic. Once they give themselves away, the battle is 80% over if you throw something they will easily handle.
AUSTIN IS THE GOAT OF GLIDE BAITS!!!
You couldn’t have picked a better teacher!
You ain't lying.
Yea he is!
dude tried to act like he didn't know what his you tube channelis 😂
Can not thank you enough for the info. This dude rocks and has the heart of a teacher.
Love the collaboration. You should do more of that. Saw his work with Miliken.
Great swimbait video. Congrats on the Bassmaster win. I have been watching your channel for years.
This is the best swimbait video I’ve ever seen. I appreciate it
I learned so much from filming this video. I've been catching giants all week because of it.
@@Flukemaster i don’t doubt it. The video gave me some confidence in throwing glide baits

Nice
That’s insane!😱
Kudos
I can’t wait to try out the MegaBass levante leviathan that I’m getting.
The best video when it comes to explaining swimbait and glidebaits!!!
Great collaboration video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Great information!! People pay top dollar for this type of insight. Thank you guys for helping us fish.

you can see and hear this mans passion.
In northern Michigan i would be crying in a 45 minutes of fishing a $250 bait rigged like that. Got to love pike water....
What’s up Guys! I met Austin not long ago! Awesome Guy!
Love my kgb's got a trick shad on the way. Glidebaits are where it's at. Can be used all year long.
Wow. I was literally sitting here restringing a couple of SB rods to go out in a couple minutes. I think I’ll sit down and finish this vid. 👍🏻👏🏻🤙🏻

Thanks for this video! I bought that clutch darter and already put some solid fish in the boat. Thanks again!!
I remember me and my dad talking to him back at the shop in hickory I believe, cool guy. Love seeing him with Ben milliken
That Diawa Coastal is a phenomenal reel I use it for my frogs in Florida and for snook
Austin dropping the knowledge.
This was everything that I needed thank you
Assuming what Austin says applies to my local fishery, this was some highly helpful ish.
One of the very best fishing videos I’ve seen in a long while. Almost makes me want to sell a child and give glide baits a try. 😂
Glad you enjoyed it!
This guy is my spirit animal. Link the guide service! That looks awesome!
I just started this video and am learning! Thanks
Excellent
Very informative!
I lived right on Lake Norman and use to see huge bass cruising the bank and docks
I really liked this video and learned a lot. I have a few set ups and a dozen glides, but I still always want to learn more. Thanks!
I know I’m late to the show but damn this guy has some knowledge. I need to make myself throw one the whole day.
I wish I had this guys energy lol
Love this guy!!! Great information.

Awesome video! Live glide bait fishing! Would love to fish with you you again! Have a great Sabbath!
Savage Gear 3d Shine Glide is another good one for beginners.
the savage gear 3d magnum shine glide is amazing. easily the best glide bait in the $30 range.
What if you have toothy fish in your lake that like swimbaits. Would you still use flouro vs braid?
An important thing to keep in mind for reels is the IPT. Higher IPTs like 32-37 are great for glides, which can be achieved in 200 and 300 size reels.
Dude this just taught me everything for em baits
Awesome info video thanks for sharing

terrific vid, Gene! I’ve been subscriber of Austin’s channel over a yr and he’s awesome! Great info! And go Dawgs!!!!
Realy great video !
Those cast where pretty accurate man i love it !
Trick shad flat gets bit...i have 2 and love them
Been fishing big baits for a few years now. Sometimes they’ll only eat it slow
Do you think fishing similar style glides work well in 40degree water? bass? pike?
That’s Millikens boy right there. Also. I have spent so much money on glides and big swim baits. Just haven’t had a single bite on one.
Great show!!
Have you ever tried the baitsanity antidote it’s really a nice glide bait for the price
Just like that I make my own baits now💰
Can you tell me what he is using on his hat for the camera and battery please? awesome video for sure!
North Carolina is a fishermans dream... mountain fishing too ocean fishing
Badass video guys!
What is rod and reel setup. Did not see it listed. Thanks and this was a fun video. I can’t wait to get $500 together and build a setup
