Thank you for this informative video. I just replaced the latch myself. Only 7 months ago we had the latch replaced by a professional and paid over $300. This replacement might not last forever, but at least this time it only cost $30 for the part. If it happens again though, probably time to just replace the whole machine.

Ive replved the switch, it worked for two openings, then got stuck open again. Door wont latch shut. Ordered a new part, and the same thing happened again?!?!

Had the latch replaced "professionally" 7 months ago. It was a costly repair but it was the day before Thanksgiving and we had guests so we just did whatever was going to be the fastest fix. Just had the same failure happen today. And we only run the dishwasher like once a week. Might try to DIY it this time. But also might just give it up and replace the appliance!
