They're ..yes Competitive.... my brother I think married a worse Narcissist. My older sister orchestrated the estrangement between family members, going so far as to try to arrange a false arrest, and implant fake memories of child sex abuse that never happened. These people are truly driven by their jealousy and need to destroy. Sadly, they influence.

Narcissists are jealous of their own children. From the moment of the child’s birth, you can feel the disconnect in them, and you know it is built upon their resentment that the child is taking all of your time and attention (because it is a wholly dependent infant) and the narcissist is angry, because that time and attention…used to be for them, alone. So, instead of embracing the ‘family unit’ - like a normal person would instinctively do…the narcissist creates a huge divide - between you and the children (on one side of the ravine) and the (supposedly ‘neglected’) narcissist, on the other. They will spend more time trying to ‘take you away’ from the children, than they will ever spend planning fun ‘family outings’. Eventually, you will drift so far apart, there is nothing left to hold on to. And when you finally file for divorce from this person (which is inevitable) they will either try to turn the children against you, or…they will suddenly make spending time with the child, a huge priority in their life. Not because they actually want to spend time with the children, but because they want the children to NOT be able to spend time with you. Everything they do is passive aggressively vindictive and with a definite agenda to hurt you. Your best defence…is to ignore their game. Eventually, they will grow tired of trying to hurt you, when your complete ‘lack of reaction’…it is offering them no satisfaction whatsoever. Let them focus on their next victim, and be glad that this overgrown child is not yours to try to placate any longer.
My father always wanted to own what I owned. It came to a situation where he decided to take my belongings. This situation required police activity and a lawsuit because I couldn't take my stuff during the move out from the house. He started to act like a retired person; even the police were surprised by the situation. He was so sure of his rights that he started to threaten the police officer. These are crazy entities, they are delusional. All of this was done to break me and do harm to my life energy. He was definitely afraid of losing control over me and my finances. The issue is that till the end you cant belive this is really happening, you are looking for some solutions other then Police, or lawsuit. I nmy situation there was no chance to talk to this person 9I noticed that he was even happy to see me in pain and frustration).
No, your best defense is to gather evidence against them and put them in jail. Many of them won't get tired of trying to hurt you when you will ignore them. They will provoke even further to get a reaction, they will stalk on you, do a smear campaign against you to further destroy you and your reputation etc. As for the rest, you're right.
My own dad was like this. He detested me, never forgave my mum for refusing to have an abortion. He was a sick individual and never spoke to me throughout my childhood.

I visited an associates house, and called the other narcissist (that person was one too) to tell him what a beautiful home she had. I was yelled at and personally attacked for it. He made up a lie about me accusing me of something that I never did. These people are very jealous, evil to the core, and THEY HATE POSITIVE ENERGY.

The question is- how can someone who actually loves someone act this way or treat anyone that way? The answer is- these people are incapable of love. We are better off with these people out of our life. I will no longer allow any free rent in my head.
My mother would give away everything she knew I wanted to keep(sentimental value)/eat/decorate/cherished/liked/wanted to save for another day. Whenever I resisted she'd come barking at me like a rabid dog and do what she had to do.
She has played with my innocent mind, watched me cry and satisfied herself.
There is so much that I cannot explain. It's a miracle for me that I'm coming out of it now. I was an idealist in a way, I had such blind faith in my parents. BIG MISTAKE. A Crime against myself.
You should see how she fakes herself in front of outsiders, acts like she is a caring, sweet Lil woman. The more she is jealous of someone the sweeter she is on their face.

My mom was the same. Shrank my nice sweaters in the wash. Gave away all my childhood toys and comics and even an octopus yarn toy I made in Jr. High. Just got rid of it all as soon as I left home. Then proceeded to do the same with my sons stuff I left in her storage unit at her apartment building. She’s always been jealous and hateful.

Can't believe it, covert mom would visit and say how she hated to see me so poor (not so) or that I needed to clean my house (not so all I did was clean for weeks prior to her arrival). That's just sick out loud comparing yourself to your kids, those you financially sabotaged and made sure they'd have little education!
It goes both ways. Your children can also be the narcissist and hate to see you do well. Mine certainly will not be taking care of me in my old age. I do well and I can sense the satisfaction he'll experience when I'm dependent and he can withhold comforts and healthy resources. Therefore I am making provisions for alternate caregivers. Again, why remain a victim?
My mother had one sister who had two daughters. My aunt and I were always close but my cousins and mother are jealous, sneaky types. It took me a long time to see this because it's very subtle and from birth. My aunt died as a result of the rest of the family abandoning her at a time she really needed help! She knew they were all narcissistic because she told me before she died, "My girls are just like your mom." My mom didn't want to see her sister do well and my cousins are the same towards me. Withhold support to try to ensure failure. But they are already failures at life for being this way to begin with!

Ditto! I was the youngest and she hated me from the time she knew I existed. Talk about being blindsided 😮 I never had a chance. I have no memory of NOT being abused at her hands in every way you can imagine. I'm honestly surprised I've made it into my 50's. She is unadulterated pure evil.

She even lifted me to the edge of the balcony to throw me over the railings of the balcony and I had gotten so scared that I would fall down. I had just dismissed it as normal sibling playful situation but now I highly doubt that she had that jealously then too and was willing to hurt me purposefully because of her jealousy. Because later when she was around her teenage year of 14 years, she had aimed at piercing my eye with a bow and arrow kit. She accepts even now that she had seriously aimed to hit the arrow to my eye so that my eyes get damaged while we were playing with each other. Thankfully, after she left that arrow the arrow by the time it reached me, the arrow had taken the usual bend and got deeply pierced to my lips.. I had to keep holding the arrow pierced in my lips and went to my mother. They all laugh at it even now as if it is a joke. But, when my sister is grown up at that age but still she attempted at harming my eyes, now I don't trust her. She is a CLASSIC CASE OF COVERT NARCISSIST and has done and exhibited all of the traits that covert narcissist do like manipulating people, triangulating between relations, mirroring, projection, emotionally torturing me by devaluing me often, horrible tactics, and cutting off relationships between her kids and even my siblings, and the last resort smear campaign trying to show me as crazy 🤪.. But, she doesn't know it doesn't work according to her MIND GAMES in the real world. Though, I am suffering now with the spoiled relationships, I am pretty sure everyone will awaken up to it sooner or later..

Oh, I was forced to leave a job , because a Narcoparasite came into the workplace, put me down in private, verbally assaulted me, sexually harassed me , then slandered me to my coworkers and the management, and I was ostracized, defamed, and pushed out of my job. Then the NarcoSatan and his flying monkeys stalked me online , under fake names, to harass me some more. I then quoted statutes of criminal harassment in my state, and threatened to have their "worthless asses" prosecuted if I ever heard from them again, all while screen shotting their comments, showing them I was documenting it, and reminding them that I come from a family of law enforcement. Never heard from these losers again. People I knew for 18 years quit talking to me because "Joe said we are not allowed to". WTF??? What a bunch of evil cockroaches ( no offense to cockroaches). If someone is going to listen to a smear campaign and believe it without even asking your side, these cretins were never your friends to begin with. I'm good with it. They wanted to "destroy me" and cackle like the crap-for-brains" they truly are. God had another plan, I retired early, traveled the country, saved up money, I am starting a business, a Workplace Abuse institute ( Narcopaths in the Workplace), starting insurance claims so I can work for myself, and have FAR more TIME to pursue my hobbies and interests. What you are saying in this video explains how my sister treated me (started in early teens) and still did as an adult. She was cruel and didn't care if she hurt me. She copied everything I did, always tried to one up me, and took anything or anyone that meant something of value to me. Our mother is a narcissist. I'm thinking that my sister is narcissistic. I haven't had contact with her for almost a year.
Wel your sister might be my sister . She always counted on me but the reverse was not true . I have not talked to her for for than a year now . She hurted me deeply . And when i was pregnant she wrote the most disgusting letter to me . She tried to make amends , i tried to forgive but it is useless . She will grab any opportunity to hurt me . I just gave up on her .

They get worst as they age. I know from experience, you’re better off treating her as if she dead because that’s how they both will treat you. They ramp up the abuse to physical and then protect each other and claim your crazy. Never, ever go back to them.

He sat down and refused to go the day we were supposed to get on the road. It was totally heartbreaking. I've never hurt so deeply. I did go. I had a wonderful time. My daughter was so beautiful!

I pray to god to get their karma but sometimes when you hear that ex are in another relationship and everything is happy, you tend to wonder if God is listening and working to show their true colours or will the mask they wear always be there. My poor daughter is dealing with a narcissist. The guy is crazy. He keeps gaslighting her and disrespecting her in any shape and firm. His father is also a narcissist and is helping his son to try to destroy my daughter. It is very serious , scary. And sad.

Growing up she would constantly make comments about my body ("You're lucky you have a butt") or about my interests, "You're so talented! I was never that talented!" Not trying to downplay your feelings, but those words sound like compliments to me. A typical narcissist will say the opposite, trying to put you down and your attributes down while trying to either over inflate their own or just try to bring you down to their miserable level. Some people mistake things for narcissism when they really aren’t. Just because someone may rub you the wrong way doesn’t necessarily mean they’re a narcissist.
Narcissism is a mental/personality disorder and they are abusive in every way, not just with some misleading comments.

About my body, for instance, she slapped a package bow on my breast in front of a whole party to make fun of my small breasts. She'd grab and pat my butt in public to make me embarrassed. She'd barge in the bathroom while I was bathing and glare at my naked body. If I told her to leave, she'd break into a rage.
I've been in the mental hospital 5x and my brother committed suicide. That should be enough proof for you.
I'm sorry that you experienced all that trauma. I'm the empathic mom; dad the malignant narcissist, however, my grown daughter cannot, will not face the reality of her dad's abuse, the betrayal - abandonment, all of the harm he caused for her, her sister and mom. She still communicates with him while stonewalling, vilifying me in the last couple years. She surrounds herself with people who do not truly care about her or love her - the "flying monkeys" who want her to be the way she chooses to be because it suits their agenda. They can be co-workers - like-minded people who are only using her for their own narcissistic needs. Her PRIDE (for one) will not allow her to move into knowledge and healing. Once you shut down your empathy - it's all over unless you're willing to admit there's a problem... she's not willing to admit the truth to herself. We are all looking for something - SO be careful where and to whom you look... and why. 💜 Take care.

My ex-husband was so jealous of my 4 yr old granddaughter and my son from previous time that he was willing to destroy both of them to get back at me he molested her and it was worth it to him to see me destroyed and my son. I adored them both. They can't stand for a person to be normal and happy. He was jealous of me working in the yard. He turned my son into thinking I needed a padded room before he went for my granddaughter. From jail he's managed to keep this divorce going 4 years now. Horrible people. Should behung

‘You think you are so smart but you aren’t ‘ is what I was repeatedly told. I guess I was and am smart because after her saying it so much I figured out why she kept saying. She was jealous of my achievements. She did tell people how bad I was, how I was hurtful I was, she painted me as the monster. That all starting falling apart. People would find out I was ok. Then they are amazed that I was not as described by my mother.
It's like my friend,s dad who kept asking me how many properties I had,,each time I was at his daughter's house,latter I realized I was spoken about,by them,,what is so sad is the amout of headache and trouble,and money woes, I had renting two of those properties, for some reason my friend and her family believed I was shiteng gold bricks,,,I wondered what they would think,if I truly was a millionair.?.

I have feelings of grief, for the 24 years of no love, constant refusals of somethings I wanted, refusal to allow me to entertain friends if he was home, being afraid to invite friends home, his refusal to "allow" me to work, etc. Yet he was very popular with everyone. I feel sad still.
Edit:we parted over 30 years ago. I did not know about narcissism until my grown up daughter pointed it out.

Had a fake friend just like that! She was so jealous of me, causing me problems at work trying to isolate me from people at work trying to detach me from my family , it was quite bad, but then being the empath that i am , i decided to get rid of her! I started mynown campaign against her, with a complaint to management , i documented what she was doing i got witnesses who were prepared to speak up , and in the end they fired her! Its been 4years now , thank God! She was so shocked it rocked her to her core! That narc deserved everything it got! This is just the short version of what happened , but i made sure that narc dug its own grave and fell in it !

This means so much to me, thank you so much! I have 5 children, between 2 marriages..and it's heartbreaking that everything you are saying is so true.
My parents are also narcissistic, I was brought to obey, to not think for myself....now that I see myself as a worthy human with feelings, thoughts, desires, dislikes,pain, pleasure, and capable of making decisions, the hardest part for me to forgive, is that these people took away my relationship with my children too.

Yes, it is pure evil to try to destroy someone that has done absolutely nothing to you and has only tried to love you and be there for you. But even that they are digusted because they see love and compassion as a weakness.
My ex-wife undermined all the progress either of my daughters made. Another ex-wife I had made sure I never carried through with several great ideas that I had had for business. Several of them are multi-million dollar businesses today. Jealousy is definitely a weapon of the narcissist.

My now ex actually said he was gonna stop being upset by what others have or can do anymore. He admitted that he is jealous of people. Then when he kept doing it anyways I mentioned it. He denied he was jealous of people. He also had said at that time that he was gonna be less of an ass hole. He tried saying he was going to get back into his religion. I offered to sit and read my spiritual books I like while he reads his Bible but of course now he didn't want to. I can't even stand him. I don't have a clue what I saw in him. I didn't know him when we were teenagers either like I thought I did. We got back in touch after 25 years. He insulted me for being disabled. Said I'm not disabled until I'm getting money for it which I'm in the process of getting going. Then put down that saying I just want to live off the state. I don't want to need surgery on my foot causing me to be unable to do much at all. I don't want to feel like I'm in a constant anxiety state that he's made worse. I started to be an empty shell then I got sick of it. He also has called my special needs son bad and compares other kids with developmental delays and autism to him stating other people can work with their special needs son. I can't wait to get out of here. I'm cold to him now but still have this reaction issue due to trauma from him and other ex's. My second husband had turned my son's against me until I left him and my kids thought about things more clearly. The new ex just gets upset when I try to have my older kids visit.
True. Everything I have ever owned that I purchased or was given to me, he destroyed. A laptop? Thrown across the room by him within a day . Family heirloom? Smashed. My car that I saved up for ? 9 Dents punched in the side within a month by him. My summer wardrobe? Ripped to shreds. Winter coat? Mysteriously disappeared. Not to mention cruelty to my animals.
Thank you Danish. Now I understand why my narc mother always hated my wonderful husband. From the beginning she tried to break us up. She would accuse him of things that were plainly false. She was jealous of my relationship with my loving husband. So when she was 90 we would not allow her to live with us. She was VERY wealthy. She gave it all to a couple that acted as her slaves. She even kept family photos from me. It was completely worth all the loss in order to honor my husband of 53 years. After 4 marriages she died alone. What a sad life she chose.

I was born a shining star and after having encountered at least 3 to 4 narcissists in my life (one of them being an 8 year relationship), I'm a star that shines even brighter now. My mother was a narcissist and I was the ignored, hated, scapegoat for the entire family. I am now 65 - I'm empty. I have no emotions, feelings, confidence, trust. The family hates me. They talk about me, have parties and holidays without inviting me, etc. No one believes what I grew up with and the abuse was compounded by my husbands - I married people just like the mother. I have changes in my brain - and the brain scan to prove it. I have more illnesses and diseases than I can count. Life is not good and I wish I had never been born.
So sorry to here your terrible treatment and neglect growing. I experienced the same but you ARE someone. No matter how you were treated. You were born for a reason-to be loved, cherished and appreciated. It’s never too late to find your tribe. But yes more challenging for us older people. Prayers and blessings to you. ❤

Reading all the comments and in my own experience, it seems to be an inherited gene, which certainly carried down in my family. I had a mother who was very cruel (from a very young age) to both her parents, her own sister, animals, then later in life (after an understandably short marriage), was destructive to one non-narcissistic child, but left the other one alone (narcissist also). Sadly, all you can do is distance yourself for a peaceful life, or they will destroy you.

That is narcissism/psychopathy. It’s both of those disorders mixed together and then there is Borderline. Some Borderlines are mixed with narcissism/psychopathy. I’m only stating this for people who are doing their research and looking these disorder up in order to recognize the symptoms in order for them to get good at it and avoid these types of people. The word, “ narcissism “ has become an umbrella term for all of these strange behaviors, psychopaths and some Borderlines included. You will be with a very insane person who puts on a mask of sanity. That’s what the deal is.

I saved my husband from dying too! I don’t regret being a loving person though. I learned how loving & stubborn I can be…my love was supposed to make him want to be a better person…but now I see where I contributed to the 27 year mess, take full responsibility, and have moved on to take ME BACK FOR ME! All that you describe here happened to me. He got jealous because of my accomplishments. He was jealous of our children. I divorced him and he got our oldest daughter to help him to try to destroy me. She turned out to be just like him. He and my oldest turned my other two against me. I am sad that my other two forgot me and who I am. Even my other two daughter's friends can't believe it. Their friends tell me how my ex was scary mean around them. I am healing now, but its hard living without my family. I was an orphan when I met him because my mother had just died and he tells everyone how he 'saved' me and 'found' me. He never let me forget that I owed him for that and that my accomplishments were his. He took my children away because he 'gave' them to me. There is a hole in my heart where my children belong. 😢

Yes, also my only daughter is definitely a chip off the old block, she has adopted the same attitude towards me as her father. You have helped me understand exactly what I have been dealing with and have learnt not to allow his provocations to get to me. I simply don’t react like I used to in the past. My health has been badly affected by years of abuse, but at last I’m not allowing him to manipulate me.

These are all 100% fax I was going to a therapist and he couldn't even figure out what was wrong with me until I started watching videos about narcissistic abuse and gaslighting and then I realize all is going on one side called her out I divorced her a month later six months after that I feel a hell of a lot better

One had to take over my relationship w/ my best friend, not able to stand that I had this relationship. Watched a friends wife do exactly as you discussed to them. Her hate for me grew to point she turned the kids in late 30's n 40's against him. And his grandchildren...to make him a shell of a man. I lost a boyfriend to a girl who I considered a good friend.
She slowly over time manipulated him, talked bad about me, she played victim, he believed her & eventually I lost him completely.
She did all that to seek revenge. She could not care less for him to be honest, but she broke my relationship just so she can see me suffer & watch my relationship burn into ashes.
Until today I still miss him. He has never ever given me a closure. Until today I am traumatised by how evil a woman can be to the point of ruining and destroying a committed relationship.
My family 101… my 2 children are my life. I could NEVER imagine the character assassination they bestowed upon me is unimaginable. Life is short. You are bang on.

In this context we can say that for the narcassist crime pays, but doesn't have a pay out. The momentary successes of causing. pain, confusion and avoiding accountability, is the same as a bank robber to makes his get away with the cash, enjoying his adrenaline rush, fault proof plan and strategies, but he can never relax or fully enjoy what he stole because he is always on high alert, looking over his shoulder, and aware what he stole will eventually not be enough. He gets caught later or the second or third time, or, he himself gets robbed. Karma demands a payout.

It's so sad to understand that many people are going through the same situation which I thought I was the only sufferer during my childhood. I never wished my worst enemy to go through this. But prayers will definitely help. I used to surrender myself to Jesus and he helped me to overcome all the pain I've gone through.
