Really nice sound! I'm all for the slightly slower tempo, you can hear and celebrate the melody better and with the minor to major to minor it really sounds great!
I like this - but the 4 string banjo is such a powerful instrument you can hardly hear the fiddle ( = violin) ( which I play). You can only hear the whistle + banjo.
oh man, the guitarist does every "normal" variation the first time through on Castle Kelly... then bashes out twenty different dramatic rhythm moments... sorry - good guitarist, but play less dramatically! support the tune, not the swing...
Low-key addicted to watching this
I love that tune, "Castle Kelly," and I haven't heard it for 25 years.

Totally cool
Excellent guitar
yes
Great intro too!
Nice steady tempo, real foot tapping stuff. The banjo is a Bacon & Day Silverbell, I don't think there's any doubt. I used to have one...
not bad , in fact brilliant, great lift without the hectic speed, great changes , i really like this
Yes, it's definitely Pigeon on the Gate... and it's a tune that has known unlimited variations!
Love it! Just missing the Bodhran :)
But those stompin' feet are a nice substitute :-)
ever, ever, ever...... @henry faulkner

Thanks for posting. Subbed, hope RUclips doesn't drop you.
Nice guitar. He can play melody, and he lets the music breathe by not playing.

nice playing guys
Doesn't need it
This was not Pigeon on the Gate - but what was it?
The last tune was 'Pigeon on the Gate', in Em The first one was 'Castle Kelly' and the middle one was ' The Mountain Road' in D
Hä? Da war doch nicht The Pigeon - aber was wars denn dann?
not bad
You dont need guitar with this session it spoils it !
oh man, the guitarist does every "normal" variation the first time through on Castle Kelly... then bashes out twenty different dramatic rhythm moments... sorry - good guitarist, but play less dramatically! support the tune, not the swing...
Nice music spoiled by the guitar.
